This was an eye-opening article for me. I realized that I am in a fruit/vegetable rut and have not been eating many of the 3-and 4-star choices. I'm going to take this list with me to the grocery store next time I go! Report
Regarding the Peanut Butter comment. This only lists peanut butter as protein, but it's a great source for healthy fat. You can still include this in your diet. It's good for you! Report

I guess this is read Becky's articles day!!! I had already read it, but found, that the more I read an article over, I gain a new insight. I had to buy a note book just for spark. This is a very informative article. Was surprised to see Peanut Butter so far down and here I have been eating an English muffin with a tad of peanut butter with my fruit (protein with the fruit) maybe now i will try something else as a protein instead. Report

This is a fairly good chart, but I'm going to do some research and see if i can make my own. As a vegan, a good portion of the chart isn't things I include in my diet. And a lot of the foods on the list, I'm pretty sure I would rank differently.

And as far as apples being 1 star, the article clearly states, "There is nothing wrong with 1-star and 2-star foods, but they generally provide fewer nutrients when compared to the 3-star and 4-star foods."

So thanks for the article SP. Definitely a great thing for most people, and a great idea-generator for me! Report

Its always great to reaffirm what you already know to be true, like the good, bad & then the UGLY. I like my sweets & ice cream but I am trying to limit them with healthy alternatives. Thanks again for the info! Report
