Yoga is useful to me. Report
Great article! I battle depression and anxiety from time to time and I absolutely agree. I need to exercise for my mental health as much as for my physical health. During this first week with SparkPeople I have gotten back into Callanetics (a combination of Pilates & Yoga). It has helped me so much. I will not abandon it again. Report
I hadn't made the connection!!! I've been doing yoga now for a couple of years. I started with chair yoga and I'm able to do many different poses now.

Last year after being on depression meds since 92, I successfully came OFF them!!!

Falling asleep is soooo much easier because I can slowwww my breathing way down. Report
Just got 2 easy yoga books out of library. I think any exercise that takes your mind off of negative issues is good. Any activity as long as you enjoy it. Walking is great as well. Report
I find that exercising does help; I will have to try yoga too. Report
I have tried yoga over and over. I just don't get it. Maybe I am hoping for too much, too fast...but it just doesn't do it for me. Report
I have not tried yoga for depression, but exercise in general helps me through depression - my body and spirit respond very strongly! Report
I am currently using yoga and meditation to form good habits for when I am off of medication. It is working really well and I feel very relaxed and accomplished after I am done. And the best part is that my daughter likes to do some of the moves with me! Or she acts like a weight resistance lol. Once in a while she will go "through the tunnel" when I am in downward-facing dog. Report
