Reading labels is very important. Due to having to limit salt, I had to read all. Needless, to say has made me aware of Sugar and fat. Waaaaaay too much sugar in this processed food. Report

As a dietitian, we never had anyone focus on the daily values because rarely did anyone fit the 2,000 kcal per day. Definitely focus first on the serving size then fat, cholesterol, sodium, carbs, fiber. If a prescribed diet required (renal failure/dialysis) then other areas. But keep it as simple as possible. Next time you are in the store look at a regular item and compare to a “diet” version of same. Most often the regular item is better choice. Report
Good information to know Report
I read the labels usually. Appreciate the explaination of the 5 and 20% break down. Report
I find it very frustrating when packaging says, calories etc per serving. Then the package doesn't say it is 5 quarter cup or half cup servings. If you measure your food it is tough to be accurate. My pet peeve.

This was a good article to learn labels and how to use them for your advantage. Report
I appreciated the explanation about the 5% and 20% interpretation. Very easy to understand and very helpful! Report
Very good article, with helpful information. Thank you! Report
Good article but I think more info could be added since 2004. Report
Reading the labels can make a person think twice before buying something. It's so much easier to eat whole healthy foods as much as possible. Report
The reading of some of those labels will drop your jaw faster than the part of a 'Who done it book' where you find who did it! Report
Some good points made Report
