For me, it was getting the mindset that I NEEDED to be consistant with exercise, for my health's sake; the tracker is an added plus!

That's awesome! The "ten minute" concept was a big wow for me too. And that's what week three of our Christmas challenge is going to be! You're on it! Way to go!

Even though the combination of all things is truly key (healthy eating, moving more, and strength training)I'd have to say...The one thing that really clenched my 90lb weight loss was reading someone's post that said..."If I have time to walk 5mins away from my house and 5mins back at least I'm out there for 10mins" I don't know why that was such an impact, but it was! It was HUGE!!!

Finding that out made me at least get out the door and it eventually became a habit.

Who doesn't have 10 minutes! (I had just had my 7th baby & I made sure to find 10 minutes for ME! ) emoticon

Kept 90lbs off my body for the last 8yrs! Going for the last 10!

Learning to drink water! (Okay...maybe not 'learning' but 'forcing myself'). I have been reading some of the information about water intake and staying healthy. Maybe it is all that handwashing from the frequent restroom breaks, but I know I haven't had so much as a cold in over a year. Working in the schools, that can be pretty tough to avoid. Hope I haven't jinxed myself!

I realized that I could not have a healthy adult life if I did not change my eating habits. Eating processed foods is not good and changing my life to the old ways is what did it.

For me - It was discovering that working out is fun!
Once I found out that group classes were the way to go (for me) I've uncovered my inner athlete. I never knew I had it in me. Kickboxing has been such a passion and such a release and such a joy for me. My trainer refers to me as "the animal" and that makes me feel powerful and invincible.

For me it was exercising. I try to do it 3x a week or more. Last week I only did it 2x :(( I noticed that my blood pressure is lower and I do sleep more soundly when I do manage to sleep.

I try not to eat past 8 PM. It's a small change in my habits but has been very effective.

The nutrition tracker and resulting feedback. I've kept a food journal before but the daily reports keep me focused. I also take the feedback about being over my levels personally, as if I'm letting down the Great & Powerful Food Overlord! emoticon

Wow! The nutrition tracker is in the lead. It's aAmazing such a simple thing can work so well, but be so difficult to keep up with for many...me included sometimes!

The nutrition tracker for sure. I will always eat more than will allow me to lose weight otherwise!

Keeping a food journal. If I don't keep one, I average close to 2000 calories or more per day. I let things go.

For me it's keeping a journal of my daily calorie and sodium consumption. (sodium causes weight gain for me so it's important to record it).

For me, also, it's the nutrition tracker. I have always thought I eat very healthy; however, when I add up the calories, apparently it's too much of a good thing! My limit is 1550 according to the tracker, and when I eat that (and I'm never very far under!) I do lose weight.

It is really hard to say just one thing as so many things here helped.

Most important was the nutrition tracker. With this, I knew how much I could eat and it taught me a lot and helped me make better food choices.

After that, the articles were really eye openers, exercising and the great support from emoticon and active teams.

This team is one of the most active I am on... love it!

The "One Thing" that has made the most significant impact is eating the right combination of low glycemic food approximately every three hours throughout the day!

That being said I believe for optimal results, it is a combination of things: what to eat & when to eat, moderate exercise, proper supplementation, at least 64oz of water, rest, positive attitude & support.

To Your Success!

What one thing do you think has made you successful in your efforts to get healthier or lose weight, or both? Inquiring minds want to know...
