it's kinda odd.... every day i see the same thing... me with my own alternative healing center... i see myself behind my counter, i see the layout of the front, i see my kitten edgar lounging around as i fully plan on having him with me EVERY DAY!! he hates it when mommy leaves lol... i want to believe more than anything that it's a 'vision of the future' so i'm going to think of it that way... manifest it right?

Ladies,

Just to remind you, when you're focusing on pushing away "bad" foods you crave or getting rid of body pain, you are still focusing on the thing you don't want. When you resist something or try to get rid of it, you are only bringing more of it to you. Focus on feeling healthy and well, rather than focusing on being PAIN-free.

As far as food goes, I typically read that it is best to leave food totally out of your affirmations and visualizations. Focus on the end result and nothing but that. Don't forget, you don't know how the Universe is going to deliver your dream to you. Focus on just the end result so you can be shown the most harmonious way to the potential manifestation.

Cool beans Chef!

I actually lost, and can't believe it since I couldn't ever lose this much weight before. I had actually given up being in twoferland, which is pretty pitiful. I just couldn't lose.

Gluten free is working for me! Thankfully, as diabetes is a progressive disease, and I've progressed.

My daily visualization is that I enjoy exercising and being in my body, and I will continue to do even better at knee rehab which is also like having a personal trainer at the gym. Great PT place! My angels guided me there after 2 pitiful PT places.

A quick and easy visual affirmation for weight loss. I read this tip from a magazine a while back, and then I saw it again this morning...I'll take that as a sign to share it here.

Stop using the words can not and start using the words do not. (That doesn't sound very positive..lol...let me 'splain!)

Visualize yourself with a trigger food, or a non fit behavior...for me cupcakes, or vegging out in front of the TV. See yourself pushing the food away and say, "I do not eat cupcakes." Or see yourself not engaging in the non-fit behavior, "I do not veg out in front of the TV." See yourself smiling as you walk away from the food or the behavior you want to stop.

By changing the words you use, you won't trigger the need to challenge the "authority figure" who is telling you that you can't do something. You will instead be telling yourself that you are actively choosing to stop.

Here's one I have been practicing..."I do not eat what I don't want to track." (Remember to smile because this engages the brain to release those feel good chemicals.)

I'm lucky enough to have achieved my fitness goals for the most part, and several times I've played with the visualization of going back in time to encourage my not-so-thin self from the past! Would she believe that I could ever really get my eating under control, could she even conceive of my cutting out sugar? Would she believe that I actually enjoy exercise and even taught Pilates and belly dancing classes? No, I don't think my self from 15 years ago could believe it, she wouldn't be ready to hear that I'd make such big lasting changes, but it's fun to think about!

I love to visualize and transport myself into any number of the role playing and sim computer games I enjoy playing. It is relaxing training ground for the imagination.

Love it!

On spark Coach today, the suggested visualization was to seat yourself in a meadow and let the warm sun shine down on your face; to feel the relaxation of a perfect sunny meadow and the carry those feelings throughout the day.

I love visualizing the sun's warmth in many of my meditations. The sun is the power source for everything on earth. Nothing would work, live, or evolve without the sun. We wouldn't have climate, or seasons, or food. But the sun can also be devastating...look at Mercury.

So in meditation we can take the best the sun has to offer without skin cancer... emoticon .

One of my favorite relaxation visuals is to float on a calm, warm river with a warm, golden sun shining down. In the colder months this works better for me, but I still do this one at least twice a week. All is right with the world when I am on my golden river raft.

Here's my all time favorite feel good visualization...

Pick your favorite movie/book/TV show and "see" the cast of characters standing with you in a line, or a dance formation...then...hehehehehe...imagine they copy each of your dance moves. Be silly, be strange..just imagine that every move you make, the whole group moves with you.

If you have a group of guides or angels who are willing to do this with you, ask them to join in the dance. (Ancient Pantheons are also immeasurably fun to disco dance with...just ask their permission first.)

I am not a dancer...I just know how to "shake my tail feathers". If you can see this group dancing with you, I promise you will break into giggles.

Thanks, Susan for that tip...great idea....I always one for the 'lazy man's load' as my Gramps would call it...not wonder it all translated into fat in later years....incidental exercise is great, if one can be mindful enough to remember to do it...I'm trying to train me to be more mindful. I have that now as a part of my meditation routine.
I tried to do the mirror visiualisation, but realised I hadn't read exactly what to do....hmmm

Becca...I giggled when you posted that...California has so many climates and I think we actually have everything from the rivers, to the desserts, to the highest peak in the contiguous US. But we are mostly dry and scrubby...LOL!

Sylvia...when you are surrounded in pink light, see yourself walking. Walk everywhere in your mind, and feel as many of the details as possible. Even the stiffness and fatigue...feel all the things you would feel if you were actually walking...then smile and acknowledge that you can walk through those feelings of discomfort since it is all in your mind. As you visualize yourself walking through the pain, start to feel the pain go away, and all that is left is mobility. Walk, walk, walk in your mind and keep doing it in the pink light. Studies have shown that this kind of visualization can strengthen your muscles up to 30%. And it is all done in the comfort of a chair! (Or bed!)

Aside from visualizing the walking...just make extra walking trips in your house...for example, one of the ways I started to add exercise is to do multiple trips to set our dining room table. I would walk to get the spoons, then the forks, then the napkins...instead of grabbing everything and making one trip to the table, I was sneaking in extra steps!

Also try Jonathon Parker.org lots of free stuff there too.... also been around for years, very accomplished, nice meditations, he actually gives you little breaks to think about what he's just said....so don't do what I did & broke the moment (I opened my eyes to check out the computer!) as I thought something was wrong with it!! Not used to guided meditations being so good....
Hope these can help you lovely people....they are helping me....even though I'm doing them in front of the computer....Oh, yes, you may still be able to get a free download of Spring Song, on Max's site, it's a lovely way to end your meditations while you close down, light, happy and really nice. Only 3 mins....

My visualisation today was to make a 'light bubble' around my body, then fill it with the Love vibration, all beautiful rose pink wispy clouds of Love energy....I'm getting better at it, I was having a problem with the Love vibration, but beginning to Love myself more & more,I was always able to send it out to others, but not to give it to myself....

So I am happy. I will have to make up one to do in front of the mirror, as you do Susan....
I need to get back on track, 3 more kilos to go to get back to what I was just before Xmas 2011....then lose another 10 kilos....and to go walking...sigh, still not walking, any tips on how to do that one, Susan, please?

Wow, Sylvia, what descriptive beautiful visions you send to me. Yes, I am a bit jealous--lol! Some day, some day! I am still just trying to get back East where we have plenty of greenery.

The first time I hiked in the Santa Monica Mountains I was kind of shocked. Yes, I knew it was a desert out here, but I just saw scrub brush, dirt and funky rock, not even pretty rock. Heck, I've been here about 23 years though, so there must have been something I like about it--like no snow.

No, Susan, I don't see my mom there. I see her regularly in my dreams though, and I had a dream recently where I got to hug on her lots and visit with her. Sigh....such a beautiful feeling. I will have suggest to myself to see my mom at the waterfall. I am still very new to mediation and still need to practice with that. I love your "love your body" visualization!

That place is called the Hydro Majestic, it's here :- 1 Great Western Highway, Medlow Bath.
I think you have to go past it to get to Blackheath....it opened on July 14th 1904. It was the place where all the toffs went for their retreat from the hot Sydney summers....

When you all have manifested enough moolah, you can maybe come & stay in it, or at least look at it. I do believe it's currently being re-furbished....

Go here to see 2 amazing pics of the view of the Megalong Valley I told you about, from a balcony room (!) plus an aerial view of the Hotel....just amazing. How they ever did this in those days is just mind blowing...link :-

Susan, what a great idea, a spiritual tool for weight loss, (or anything for that matter!).
Maybe Sparks would put it up as a legitimate challenge? Haha...
Paul McKenna is good, but don't you have to keep on doing it, I mean not stop? Surely they give you a 'trigger' or something so you can go back there and visualize it all again? Just saying....
I am big on the mirror thing for loving yourself. Every time I see my reflection, be it mirror or window, I smile & say, I Love you Sylvia....it does feel a bit silly when you first start, but as it works, well, who cares? lol...
Thanks for showing us how you can expand on this useful tool....I never thought of using it to 'see' myself actually losing weight. I must start 'creating' more creativity of thought! then I might start getting more good ideas.
I think a lot of people have the waterfall in a forest, mine came about as it was the tool to get us into a meditative space, when I was learning how to meditate & grow spiritually & develop my Spiritual senses....But I do know of such a place For any Aussies on here, it's in the Blue Mountains, (behind Sydney), you go due West from Sydney, through Katoomba, until you get to Blackheath, you hang a left over the Railway Line, and left again. Follow the road down, (steep & winding)...fantastic forest, & the birds...Wow...as you come to a hairy hair pin bend, driving very slowly, there is a sign on the left, pointing left, saying "Mermaid's Cave" as you turn right on the hairpin bend, turn hard right into the small car park on the right....if you miss it, just come back. then follow the signs, it is a most magical place, & I have sent many people there, during my working life. You go down a steep flight of steps between enormous boulders, & emerge out into a wide clearing below you, on the left is the cave, with the water cascading over the top, you can actually walk behind it, then you walk down to the stream bed, walk over the stream, then back over the log bridge (oooh, hairy walk) back up to the road, then you just walk back up the road to your car...there are Black Cockatoos up there, huge birds, they live in the tops of the trees, you can hear them & if you look hard, see them, too. Such a magical place on a hot Summer's day....not sure if I would advise going there if it had been lots of rain, but! If you want to see what they look like, here is a link for a treat....:-

If you continue on down to the valley below, there is a great Tudor cafe serving Devonshire teas & etc....& if you look back up to the top of the hill behind you, on the right, you can see the back of the huge old Hotel, what's it called now? Can't remember, it was built in the very early days, it's very old.
All these birds are Native to Oz....are you jealous? Well I think most of them are....
Anyhoo, enough ramblings...

Gabby and Becca....ME TOOO!

I have a waterfall in a forest TOOO! Maybe a lot of people do, but I think it is pretty cool that we three do! Mine is more of a spring that pours over a flat rock...it is located on the San Jacinto mountain somewhere...I "found" it when I was a girl and I have been visiting it in my mind ever since.

Becca, does your mom come and talk to you there?

One of my other go-to visuals is one where my mom was a lifeguard... a strip of beach in So Cal...that is what I call my life beach. I sit there (in my mind) and wait for people, animals, nature, or whatever to show up and "tell" me things.

Oh and Gabby...I did something similar last year...I was using hypnosis and the power of my imagination to continue to lose weight after I completed a medical fast...I lost close to 70 pounds last year...and the hypnosis dude (Paul McKenna) was recommended by my doctor as a follow up. When I stopped being vigilant with the CD, I started to eat like a mad woman...food was slowly re-introduced after the fast, and I started to eat what I wanted trusting that my hypnosis as well as my visualizations would keep the weight off...HA! Initially, I lost an additional 10 pounds with the hypnosis, but when I started to eat, the weight crept back on and a life time of mental images flooded me with food cravings...I binged until I put on all the weight plus a little more.

When I joined Spark People in June of this year, I started with the visuals again...each morning and each night! (Since I was battling guilt and remorse, I started by "seeing" a happier Susan!!!)

AM visual: Smile into the mirror and "see" me happy.
PM visual: Smile into the mirror and review my successful accomplishments from that day. (Sometimes my accomplishments are grand, but usually they are the basic "Today I successfully accomplished eating fruit.")

Now I am back to "seeing" myself as a healthy, fit and flexible Susan. And I have added back into my daily mental work a whole "I love my body" visualization. I start at my toes and go all the way up to my head. I see my body in the highest, best light possible...and if any of the old time negative thoughts try to creep in...I have a trainer in my had that chases them away...have you seen Dolvett from Biggest Loser...that man has a permanent place in my mind!!!

My safe place is in a forest too, right near a beautiful waterfall that my mom and I unexpectedly found while hiking one day. We ate lunch there and had a good time. As my mom has passed, this visualization has significant value to me.

I used visualization last year as a way to start and stay on a diet program. I visualized looking in a mirror and getting thinner. I also visualized only eating healthy foods. I lost 55 lbs. Unfortunately, I stopped visualizing and meditating and gained 20 back along with my old bad eating habits. Guess I need to start visualizing again so I can stick with a program.

However, whenever I'm stressed I visualize myself in my "safe" place which happens to be in a forest clearing with a small waterfall flowing into a deep blue pool. It helps center me.

I truly believe that visualization is one of the most powerful tools we can utilize.

I know that visualization has helped my knee return to near normal functioning! I still use my mantra each day that me knee moves easily and with no pain, and it seems to be working. :)

One of our team's goals is to Perform a Visualization/Affirmation - at least 1 time per day.

Since joining this team I have been able to complete this goal and it has turned into a nice little streak. I chose this goal as a way to encourage myself to continue to improve my mind/body connection, and there are quite a few academic studies, as well as anecdotal testimonies, to validate the efficacy of daily visualizations.

Another way to look at this is that the interface between inner and outer reality is our perceptions, and we each have total control of how we perceive the world (both inner and outer....sounds like belly buttons instead of realities!)

In even simpler terms...how we "see" ourselves and our world is how we and our world will be.

If you are new to visualizing or are an experienced pro, please post questions, ideas, or even your own unique stories of how you use visualization so we can all learn, grow, and create a brighter world!
