Thanks Suzanne that was very interesting. I will drink 8-9 glasses a day with apx 2-3 cups of green tea and I am always in the bathroom. I do not think that drinking too much is a good thing either. I also read an article once disputing that we do not even need the 8 glasses! So who knows!

Wow... thanks for posting these articles. Amazing stories. With my history of kidney issues as a child, I don't think I should be increasing my water intake!

There IS such a thing as water toxicity. I will never forget this girl that died when I was in high school---

And it has happened to sober people too--

So too much of ANYTHING can be bad.

I read somewhere once that it is possible to drink to much and over-load the kidneys. It was a question asked by someone and answered by one of the coaches on another diet website. So I trusted the answer. I get concerned about that because as a child I spent much time in the hospital for kidney issues.

I agree ladies... most of my fluids comes from green tea as well and if I drank anymore you'd never see me because I'd be living in the bathroom. This is what makes me question the validity of the quiz-- if we need the water so much why are constantly getting rid of it?

Wow... according to the quiz I need 14 8-oz glasses of water! I already drink 8 + at least 3 12-oz mugs of green tea... and that's not enough! If I drink anymore I'll start to float! I'm the same way, I'm in the bathroom so often as it is that some days it really starts to get on my nerves! lol I think I'll have to strap the water cooler to my back, sit on the toilet & stay there! lol

I had to giggle when I took the quiz. According to that I would have to drink 11 cups of water. Even when I do the recommended 8 I'm constantly in the bathroom. I think I would need a catheter. Thanks for the link tho, it was really interesting.

So.. I was trying to come up with an interesting topic for march. Since it is St Patrick's Day and we tend to binge on alcohol AND it is (hopefully) the beginning of Spring (which means new life and spring cleaning) I thought HYDRATION would be a good topic. We all need it!

But how much do we need it? I know that I don't drink tons of water but how much does a 5'1'', 108 lb. chick need, really?

I found this quiz that supposedly will tell you.

Check it out and discuss!!
