Aagh! DH brought home yummy-looking cookies again. MUST NOT EAT COOKIES!

I'm having a tough time getting up in the a.m. again, now that it's dark out! And I get sleepy late in the afternoon. This body should've been a hibernator, it sure seems to want to. I may have to get out my SAD lamp again.

I think our tomatoes are all done and in, and we had a frost last night so our Haralsons are as ready as they'll ever be. I think I'll go get more of those Birdseye frozen protein veggie blends on my way home from a diabetes info session this afternoon. I never seem to get enough of either. I'm now drinking more tea or just plain hot water with lemon, as ice water doesn't seem right, now that we've turned the furnace on. Hubby succumbed first! I was trying to hold on for a little longer. I'm still trying to figure out what I did right, 10 lbs ago.

Well we win some we lose some.
I am having a hard time getting up in the morning these days.
Lets keep focusing on veggies.
Last night I made some little porkchops potatoes and green beans with ranch dressing mix sprinkled on them and baked in the oven. It was a good, but not great recipe.
I also had more beets. I am surprised at this point I am not seen the results of the beets in my excrement. Icky word. Seemed better then others in my thought process.
Not thrilled with the drastic dip in temps but you knew it was coming.

I can't imagine ever preferring the taste of peas to cheese, Lori!

I pledge to get back on track this week, after the Food Truck Festival yesterday (barbeque pulled pork with onion rings sandwich and a small dish of those little ice cream dots). I did have a restaurant spinach salad with chicken salad (small) last night. But, I had a bakery muffin for breakfast, which I truly regret, though when eating it I was thinking to myself, "I don't want it to get stale and go to waste." Phooey. Tonight will be butternut squash and rotisserie chicken.

So skipping a burger 2 days in a row is my victory for the week.
I have been eating a lot of veggies this week.
I am not thinking they are better then a burger to my taste buds yet though.
When will that happen?

So in the interest of eating more vegetables I made teriyaki vegetable bowl with meatless balls.
Definitely interesting. That was my lunch.
I am eating a large salad with a little meat and cheese right now for my supper.
I bought a couple of bags of croutons for a treat while I was out picking up nitrate free sandwich meat. I guess they are quite a treat. Serving size is 2 croutons at 35 calories.
To note I am having a lot more then 2.

I finally bought some quinoa to try, mine is Aztec Red. Cooks up very easily, but I should have made a half recipe. Using one cup of quinoa and 2 cups of water fills up my 1.5 quart pan!. Reminds me a bit of Zoom hot cereal.

I am working on more garden stuff. We eat a lot of tomatoes and I am getting on to the turnips and beets now.

I ate a serving of a Birdseye protein blend veggie package, Italian style. I think I'll keep working on those, as I always fall short of protein. I can't eat more than 4-5 oz of meat without feeling boggy.

I have been working on this. I am not eating enough fruits and veggies other then Bananas.
I have to start taking this seriously.
I am hoping to do 2 fresh and 2 cooked veggies a day.
Picked more cukes last night as well as watching my hubby haul the 60 plus butter cup squash around. UGH.

I forgot about my butternut squash. I think I'll pick up a good steak and cook that with the squash to hopefully make up for wrecking my garage door. Makes more work for hubby as he will replace it.

Ate tomatoes and cucumbers while gone camping. Had chili, too (beans count, right?). I have lots of apples to eat, and will do more coleslaw with my cute little cabbages this week.

I was able to get at least 5 servings of freggies a day for the past week. I agree - it's easier for me to eat fruit instead of veggies. I need to work harder on the veggies too.

I thought that the goal you had set for yourself was the goal for all of us so that is the goal I used for September 1 - 7. I had a good freggie week and did manage at least 4 servings a day.

For the week of September 8-14, my fit your food life goal will be the same - at least 4 servings of freggies a day.

generally a 1/2 cup of each cooked vegetable and 1 cup for fresh greens. I am not sure about all the cherry tomatoes I eat these days.
I can't say I have managed 4 servings of veggies aday more then one day but I am probably averaging 3 which isn't too bad.

I will write a specific goal here each week.
so Sept. 1 -7 try to get 4 servings of veggies 6 of the seven days this week.
Post results on the 7th or before.
