emoticon Well, okey dokey, here's what I have for results for our March Spring Into Health challenge.

New Librarian: 4 points

JF4009: 3 points, loss of 2.2 pounds

Toni: 4 points and loss of 8 pounds emoticon

Noel: 4 points, loss of 6 pounds

Carol: 3 points loss of 1 pound

Congratulations to Toni who really tore things up after her recovery from a tough illness; she has the most pounds lost, so she gets the Big Prize - wish it could be more than just a Spark Goody, but...

Noel: super job on weight loss! Keep up the great work! A big Goody for you, too!

For the rest of us, yay for the weight loss, and may we do even better the next time around. Wishing you a very healthful April.

Suggestions for another challenge? For myself, I've decided I really need to build lower body strength, so I'm going to challenge myself to achieving 200 squats in one session by May 31. I'm also going to try to reach a 5 minute plank by the same date. I'll let you know if I wreck something doing this, in the Howdy! thread emoticon

I am not sure where we are supposed to post our health related article or summary for the week so I am doing it here. ND Carol inspired me to try yoga at home using Yoga with Adriene on You Tube. I am really enjoying it. Here's an article about the benefits of yoga.

Here are the results for the March 21 weigh in.

New Librarian - 2 points, one for clearing out her pantry and one for same weight

MNVicki - 1 point for clearing out her pantry

JF - 1 point for clearing out pantry

Toni - 2 points, 1 for weight loss and one for pantry clearing

Noel - 1 point for weight loss

ND Carol - 1 point for pantry clearing.

Toni and Noel have lost every week! Yay!

For the coming week, the assignment is to read and share some health information that is especially relevant for you. Just a short summary is fine!

Just a friendly reminder of this week's challenges for weigh in on the 21st. Have you gone through your fridge and cupboards and gotten rid of old stuff? One point if you have. Have you rid your house of temptation (except for treats kept for others)? One point for that, and one point if you lose weight or stay the same.

So far for the March 14 weigh in we have:

Julie (JF4009) - 3 points as she did all the cardio and strength training and lost weight! emoticon

Carol - 2 points, one for weight loss, and one for doing the cardio assignment

Lori (New Librarian) - 1 point for weight loss

Toni - 1 point for weight loss, 1 for strength, 1 for cardio.

Noel - 1 point for weight loss

MNVicki - 1 point for staying the same

For this first challenge, we were to state our weight loss goal for March, and to tell all how we're going to succeed.

Here's how we did.

Lori (NL) - 1 point

Julie - 2 points

Toni - 1 point

Rosie - 1 point

Noel - 1 point

Vicki - 1 point

Carol - 2 points

For those of you who didn't tell how you're going to lose that weight, I'll give you another point if you go back and edit your posts with that info. emoticon

For this week, and weigh in on March 14, the challenge is to do cardio exercise 3 times and strength training twice. You'll get one point for each time you do cardio , and 1 point for each time you do strength; so you could get 5 points for doing all the exercise, plus 1 point if you lose weight, for a possible 6 points. Remember to Report your weight. For Lori, you can state pounds lost or gained as you don't want to list your actual weight.
