Goal update: 129.6 pounds today; 129.4 yesterday. I'm pretty much okay with that weight.

I've given up all artificial sweeteners and limit sugar drastically since 1/6/19. I have no intention of going anywhere near the level I had been consuming, and for now, I intend to avoid all sweetener and limit sugar very strictly. 48 days and counting = good streak!

I've been averaging one serving of grain per week over last 6 weeks (4 bowls of oatmeal, one slice of bread, and one serving pasta). I have eaten sweet potatoes, corn and peas. I tend to get 80-100% of the carbs recommended by SP.

I have been eating more avocado, nuts, seeds and EVOO. My fat intake has increased to 100-125% of what SP recommends. I have been using 1% fat milk and cottage cheese, but my yogurt is fat free because 1% is not available in my store. Cheddar cheese, full fat, is a new occasional splurge. I have been eating low fat mozzarella sticks. Trying to get plenty of calcium to address the osteoporosis.

I feel like I'm making progress with my foot exercises/PT and I'm still trying with my back PT. I've made another appointment with the physical therapist.

My running is slowing which I feel a bit sad about. Seems like every time I take some time off of running I never return to where I was. 5 years ago I was running 5Ks in 27-29 minutes, but looks like 37 minutes may be my new target. Magic Mile has gone from 8:47 to 11:01. Oh, well. We will see how I do on March 9 for Senior Games.

So far I feel pretty good about 2019.

January Goals:

1. No beef or pork (expect for a small piece of New Year's good luck pork)
2. No sodas
3. Workout at least 3x weekly, cardio and weights
4. Do at least 1 ab exercise daily.

So far so good!

I am wanting to loss 25-30 lbs this year. This will get me to my personal goal weight and also the weight my body feels comfortable at. I know it is going to be a slow process. My word for 2019 is PROGRESS. If I keep trying, I can only go forward. I may stall at times, but going in reverse is not an option.

Still 133.4 today, and I expected to be down a bit, but I did weigh early. I would like to be eating comfortably and weighing a comfortable 131 -- or 132 if I must. Simply tired of sweating it, and want to just eat sensibly, and maintain. Wish that would work. Will try.

I weighed 133.4 today. That is up a bit, but I feel okay. Goal is to NOT GAIN any weight this month. If I lose a pound or two or 4 that would be okay, but not necessary for happiness or to feel successful!

I am going to continue to try to define what level of running I should be doing and do it.

I am considering hiring a personal trainer to help me with strength training, but I am not committing today.

I will set a goal to make 10,000+ steps daily, unless I swim or cycle or do something active that doesn't count as steps. I hope to average 15,000 steps daily. Right now my activity tracker has 12,360 as my goal. That is an average of the last days (10 I think) plus about 5% for a stretch. Want to get that number to 15,000. My resting heartrate is up to 69. I like it at 59, but I know that will take a lot of running and high intensity activity to accomplish again. I have to temper my goal on this with reality (hx of stress fracture).

Please list your monthly goals here. If you want, you can list your New Year's resolutions or goals for all of 2019, too.
