emoticon I saved $ by changing my mind on going shopping! Instead, I asked hubby to pick up a few items that we needed on his way home from work. Pretty sure, if I went, I would have picked up a few more items and spent more! Sticking to the plan of only buying what is needed is what we're doing for the month.

I lucked out this morning!

I was ready to get two new pairs of wool socks for hiking and, letís face it, winter.
Searching for another item, I discovered six pair of medium and high cushion socks. Looked up the brand for material content, as Iíd forgotten, and discovered they were very high merino wool, exactly what Iíd budgeted for.

So I bought some stocks instead of socks. This stock has a 16 percent return right now, and pays dividends.
Not only did I save money, but I am in place to make some.

Family visits are a huge drain on my finances.

I talked myself into waiting on hiking boots. Iíve a backpacking trip planned for sept. 2020, and I need short hikes and trips to break in the boots.
I think I can wait until November sales.
So, $150-ish, for now.

Indeed, NASFKAB.

The storage moving is done as I think I can cull it in three to six months, rather than a year.
But, itís useful for my work supplies. It is an expense that lowers my taxable income...hmmmm

Iíve decided to overdye my duvet cover. Iíll use maybe $8 in dyes and supplies that cannot be reused, or Iím using them up (syringes, rubber bands, nitrile gloves, water and power).
Given the covers Iíve been drooling over are $150 at the top and $60 at the lower end, dyeing is a better choice.
Now to settle on color.

I also am moving my storage this week and next, to save $25 a month. The full sifting will take another year. Ouch.

Thought about picking up a few things after work today--but I gave it a second thought and asked myself, do we "really" need these items--the answer was NO! So, I avoided spending around $20 I'd say just by rethinking if it was necessary or needed.

I almost went to buy sheets, but, after looking at the ones I have, decided not to. Cheap ones are $20 and I would have bought two sets

God grant me the serenity to change the things I can, to accept the things I cannot change, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Wanted to get used bikes for my grands use while they are with us this summer. So, we went to an estate sale that advertised 3 nice looking bikes. Unfortunately they were $149 each. Way out of our price range, so we saved at least $300 since we wanted 2. We'll keep looking...

In contrast to our what did you spend today thread, Iím offering how much did you not spend.

Be serious, be funny, be both.

Legitimately, I walked away from a combined total of $300 in camping gear.

Iím calling it research, and Iíve a year to make a decision. My current gear has had its limit of repairs, and the fabric integrity is failing. Itíll do for casual camping, so thatís what Iíll do this year.

Oh, I walked away from a steel water bottle that reads ďHydrate or die.Ē
Iíve enough bottles. But I might make a sticker....
