I have been a fluttering fly baby for years, not perfect, but slowly making progress. I am very thankful I have a cleaning lady to help once every couple weeks but I am now at a point where I feel I may no longer need one. My dh knows I appreciate the help but my SIL gave me the nicest compliment yesterday saying my housekeeper was lucky because my house was so clean the housekeeper would have nothing to dođź’•Progress not perfection my friend!

So glad you broke it down into a manageable chunk and tried. Now you can reward yourself and bask in the glow!

ANYTHING we do in the way of housekeeping turns out better than doing nothing.

Wow that is great that you went from hoarder to a decent housekeeper!

I tried Flylady in the past but it did not really suit me. Seemed to take up even more of my time having to read all those articles and do things in the order she suggests.... That I am not a native speaker of English does not help.

Today I picked myself up and agreed with myself to do 30 minutes of cleaning. I ended up doing 45 minutes, and now have a clean kitchen.

If you are hard core unmotivated, visit flylady.net

If you are unfamiliar with her, visit for sure! She is FUN! Her self talk and self care can be the key for some!

If you are mostly organized break it into smaller chunks and reward yourself.

I’m a flybaby who used to be a hoarder. Over a period of a few years I managed to recover and keep a decent house!

I fell off the wagon with my cleaning and tidying schedule... not sure how to get back on...
I had made a schedule for the tasks but I think that maybe I am asking too much of myself.

So I followed my schedule for 2 to 3 weeks and then suddenly lost courage. I could not find the oomph. It's like I lost my motivation. Or it's too hard to force / push myself to do a task everyday. Because of my physical complaints I can no longer go through the house like a whirlwind and do all the cleaning in one day. It's hard to accept that.

I may be an all-or-nothing person. How can I motivate myself to do one small thing every day rather than either do nothing or try to do too much at once?
