How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.

One time I had a huge pile of stuff on my desk. I took it in pieces. I pulled out all the mail fliers and the periodicals, etc. Then I took out something else until the pile was just memos and paper, which I went through.

Whatever you do, take it in manageable pieces and before you know it the job is done.

a couple of other things that have helped me.

1. set the timer for 15 mins and see how much you can get done before the timer goes off. then 15 mins of break, 15 mins of work, etc.

2. pick one small area to clean off and organize each day or week. then work very hard to keep that one area clean and organized from then on. for example, a coffee table or night stand to start. or one corner of you kitchen counter.

alot of people love the suggestions you get from Flylady.

a good place to start is with the Pick 3 challenge - you just pick 3 things to get done in a day, no matter how big or small ( a load of laundry, a pile of papers, trash to the curb...)

good luck to you!
