Hi Ruby!

So glad to see you joining the challenge. I often wonder if the people I meet in the area out walking or running or at the Y are Sparkers, too!

I really hope we can encourage other team members to visit & participate. Having local support is such a blessing.

I really like the idea of making this team more active. Sometimes when I'm at the gym I wonder if anyone else there is on Spark! I am going to make the commitment to check in on this team more frequently and try to post often.

I, too, am just getting back into strength training (i.e. I lifted at the gym for the first time yesterday in months). My arms are sore today, and I love it. I hope to keep it up!

Hello everyone! I hope you are all making progress as we SLLOOOOOOWWLY make our way toward the first day of spring.

I've been doing much better on water consumption & the push-up challenge is certainly helping me to remember how much strength training can benefit me.

So far I've gotten in my 3 days of free weights and hit 8 glasses of water 3 out of the last four days.

I'd say that's pretty good.

Sadly I fell down on my commitment to post daily - my excuse is house guests... But that's a pretty lame reason. Gonna have to get on the stick with that part.

My goal for the Spring 2011 Challenge is to bring some focus back to my strength training. I've really let it slide since the start of winter. I want to get 3 days of weights in weekly.

Also WATER! I have been terrible about getting my 8 glasses a day.

With all the winter weather we've been having and drifts of snow everywhere we look it might be hard to believe but....

The first day of spring is just 6 WEEKS AWAY!!!

So, Sparked in the QCs team, how about we challenge ourselves over these last weeks of winter.

1. It would be terrific to get this team page jumping. So I challenge you to jump in and post. Post about how you are, ask or answer a question, tell us about upcoming local events, support another team member, or just say hello! At the bottom of the team page, just under the "Team Forum" you'll see a section called "Team Goals" one of which is "Post once a day" Join in and track your daily post. One daily post is an easily achievable goal. Consider yourself challenged!

2. Take a look over the last few weeks or months. Is there a goal you had that's fallen by the way side? Is there something related to your fitness journey that you might have let slide? Maybe you started out with a plan to eat less processed foods. Perhaps you planned to start strength training. More fiber. More water. More miles. More minutes. What area has been neglected?

I challenge us all to find that area and give it more focus over these final 6 weeks of winter.

SO. There you have it. The Sparked in the QC's Spring 2011 Challenge.

I know you can do it. I bet I can do it.

Why not take a moment right now and make your first post in this thread and let us know what your plan is for the Spring Challenge?
