Thanks Dell for your vote of confidence.
Dr is sending me for an MRI of my foot to see what is going on, her inkling is Metatarsal Syndrome which is like Carpel Tunnel but in the foot instead of the wrist. She also drew labs to rule out infection &/or gout.

Attitude is everything Suzy.

My energy level was much improved today. I guess getting a weekend of sleep helped, besides knowing I have to take care of my DH while he recovers from cataract surgery. The surgeon said the surgery was a success today, DH had to keep his eyes closed most of the next 48 hours. He goes back tomorrow for a check up with the surgeon. So a lot of the things DH normal does like the dishes & taking out the garbage are on me for the next few days so I've been on my feet more than usual. But I don't really feel that exhausted like one would expect.

Again, thanks guys. I am not going to sweat the sleep study or taking on the Alzheimer's walk and 5k event the following day. I can do anything if I set my mind to it.

Suzy, the mold could definitely be the issue. Do you have one of those ventilation fans in your bathroom. We used to have a problem with moisture in the bathroom & causing some mold buildup, but since we've installed the new fan a couple of years ago, I don't see any mold. Hope all goes well with the sleep study & it provides some key answers.

Also noticed something yesterday. When I take on my workouts first thing in the mornings before heading to work I am able to do yoga or strength workouts before getting myself & son ready to head to school. Then I go home and walk each dog individually for their distances- Bruin does a mile and Peabody since he's small does maybe 1/2 mile. Then I go do my own walking workout either outside or on the treadmill for about 30-40 minutes. Time to hit a shower, pack lunch or healthy snack & grab water, eat a healthy snack for after workout and sip water, dress for work and off I go. I've now done over 5 miles by 8:30 am. When I get home about 4 PM I am wiped out. I am falling asleep on my feet by 7 PM. I think even though the morning workouts are my best it just drains me. But if the mold is something else that is getting to me then we'll see. Sleep study is just a few weeks away and I've still got the 5k charity walks to do.

I just want to be healthy and get the added on weight to go away since I can feel the difference in my body and its draining me.

Guys my husband thinks we may have black mold growing in our small bathroom off the master bedroom. It doesn't have a lot of ventilation and when he takes showers he always closes the door. I keep it open to let the steam out. Looks like I may be scrubbing it down with bleach since he's saying its up near the ceiling line, since I scrub the heck out of my bathrooms weekly if not more, but never really look up beyond the shelf and mirror.
Time to google how to handle this. Thanks

Suzy, just a thought, but could there be mold in your home? I know it sounds crazy, but mold sometimes can make a person have those symptoms.
Way to go on signing up for the Alzheimers walk, way to get in some fitness & for a good cause.

Thanks team- it means alot knowing I've got you out there supporting me. My only concern is me NOT getting any sleep during the testing and then participating in the Alzheimer's walk and being too exhausted to drive home safely from New Bern. I will just hope for the best and let the staff know there what my intentions are the following morning. I hope there are showers so I can get the stuff washed off from all the electrodes attached to my head, arms, legs, chest, etc....

Still able to do some kind of workouts in the morning which helps keep me on track. I have started eating 2 small meals/snacks for breakfast to help with the bloating feeling. The doctor wants to to undergo an sleep study which I have scheduled in October. Only thing is the dates and times available for the month keep intercepting with my scheduled already registered for 5k events or during the week when I could not be home to ensure my son is up and ready to be taken to school. My hubby cannot change his work schedule so weekdays were out.

Option for me was: Friday Oct. 24 for the sleep study that night.
Sat. Oct. 25, I should get out by 6 AM from the sleep study in New Bern, NC and have already registered and raised $ for the Walk to End Alzheimer's that will take place in New Bern at 10 AM. I believe registration is 10 AM and the ceremony starts at 11 AM. Then I have a 1 mile walk for it. Not too bad and hoping I get some sleep since I will have to most likely shower there and get all the gook out of my hair, etc... and I don't want to burn through a full tank of gas going back and forth from New Bern to my home in Jacksonville.
Sun. Oct. 26, I have a Oktoberfest Stein & Shine 5k race to do at 6:30 PM which I opted for the glow run/walk. Not my usual element so it will be interesting. I decide I better use my 2 vacation days I have left for Friday and Monday after that weekend to help recover.

The main thing is I cannot give up and have a pity party about it. Time to think around the obstacle and see what the doctors can find with their knowledge. I just need to keep notes on how my body is coping daily if its "off" so its easier to recall details to the doctor follow ups.

So happy to see the sun and not feel any humidity yet! emoticon Took advantage of the cooler morning temps and sunshine to take on some serious walking workouts. I did close to 5 miles on my own and finished it up and over with coming back to the home and walking each dog individually. We all love the sun and breeze. Happy to see the start of fall showing.
So far I haven't had any more episodes of extreme fatigue but have been dealing with bloating feeling and lack of appetite. I decided to try something new last night and will be eating my biggest meal at lunch time and eating something similar as my breakfast menu at night. I did it last night and didn't suffer from extreme abdominal pain and swelling where I feel I need to reach for anti acids, water pills, etc... I have to come up with some kind of solution why I wait for test results and doctor's opinions and more tests suggested.

Trish, thanks for the tips, actually I have orthotic inserts for plantar facittis. I also have another foot issue, can't remember what it's called but basically it causes friction in the bones going down to the toes. Toes constantly feel like they have been stepped on.

Donna, this MIGHT help...it might not! But it's worth a shot!

Have you tried going to a store like New Balance (My preferred shoe store!) or Nike stores?
I just bought a new pair of Cross Trainers, which were NOT cheap! But my Shoe Show pair of New Balance, wore out in under 3 months! My feet roll outward (supinates). I had to buy a pair of shoes that have an "anti roll bar"/support on the outer edge of the shoe!
It makes SUCH a difference! My feet don't hurt when I run! It's also taken some pressure off my hips!
This might not help, but it's worth a try, if you haven't already tried it!
Another thing to try is an elliptical machine, vs walking/treadmill! This will take pressure off your feet, and your knees! The drawback to this machine, is that it doesn't help with bone density. You need the pressure of the "pounding" on your bones, to make them stronger! But, it's a start!

I'm trying to come up with some ideas that might help you!

Suzy, the DIL doesn't BELIEVE in cleaning, she says there's no point as it will just get dirty & messed up again??? I'm a major OCD clean house person, so this is quite a change for me to deal with. She at least does cook supper most nights & my DH cleans the kitchen, he's done that the whole 15 years of our marriage, he feels that's doing his part. The walking is the issue, my feet are giving me incredible pain, even keeping me awake most nights. I've been to get cortisone shots, that's only a temporary relief. I find the days I'm on my feet more (like the weekends ) I'm in excrutiating pain. I have been trying to so some ST & some chair exercises so I at least get in some activity but it's just not the same as getting out & walking & enjoying the fresh air.

emoticon Donna, I did not know about the latest developments with the kids moving back in. I know you are under huge stress dealing with the office all week and on weekends you are active as always with church, seeing your folks, etc.... You get applause by me just for getting out of bed each day and doing your best to focus on some healthy habits and move. Any chance the kids could help with cleaning the home and maybe meal preparations to lighten your load? What about them doing the dishes so you could go for a nice walk to de-stress from the day? Please take care and not put yourself at the bottom of the list again, okay?

Trish, I'm 45 & a type 2 diabetic, of course if my blood sugar was better controlled perhaps I wouldn't have this issue. But Can't seem to get it in control, even with recently being put on insulin. I have been taking a multivitamin & B complex supplement which helps some, but the tiredness never seems to leave. Just no energy, somedays it's all I can do to drag myself out of bed.

I work 40-50 hours a week at my job as a insurance rep for a local agent, throw in there being a Pastor's wife & also having our youngest dd @ home & recently our youngest son has moved back with his wife & 2 daughters, so it seems Im constantly trying to tidy up at home. No wonder I stay tired all the time.

WOW, Suzy!
But I hear you about working almost full time hours, while being on the payroll as part time! I was working 35 hours a week, up until July! My husband is deployed, we were undergoing a MAJOR kitchen renovation, and I have 4 teens still living at home! I thought I almost had a breakdown!

I ended up quitting work! That's when I started working on ME! I started going back to the gym, and getting in shape! But, after a month of being home, I ended up talking to my boss, and going back at 25-30 hours a week until my husband returns!

I know that working, and taking care of a home/family, is very exhausting!
I hope you ladies can get some solid answers!
Best wishes!

SUZY. Wish I had the answer but I don't. My energy level hit me between 8 and 9 but I am almost ready for bed then anyway.

Hi Trish,
I am 47 and my iron and blood sugar are good. I believe they checked my vitamin B levels which where also good. During my last full blood lab by LDL, Triglycrides, HDL, and cholestrol level all good. Vitamin D somewhat down and I am taking supplement for it.
I do my workouts EARLY mornings like 4 AM and when I don't have to be at work by 8 AM and getting my son to school by 7AM I try and do my outside walk, treadmill, and walking the dogs before heading to work.

Have been feeling good this weekend since I took Thursday off and did absolutely nothing but take my son to school and nap and just read on the sofa. I just had no energy and my mind was in a fog. I honestly couldn't remember how to turn the dryer on!

Will be seeing my doctor on Wednesday afternoon, though I agreed to having my work schedule switched up since I was barely at any hours now I am at their max for part time associates. This means I will be working a full day instead of a half day so we will see how my energy does. Plus I will miss my morning walks due to having to be in as early as I can. It may be good though, so I can report to the doctor any changes in my tempo with the different schedule.

Donna I hope both you and I get some answers we can live with and adapt to.

Suzy and Donna,
A couple questions, and you don't need to answer them outright!
How old are you?
-I found that in my 40's my energy levels started decreasing! Now, in my 50's, they've bottomed out! I can NOT workout 4-6 times a week, like my mind expects! My body revolts! It's HORRIBLE!

Maybe trying to vary the times you work out? Instead of working out in the afternoon, try working out in the mornings...EARLY mornings! I find that when I work out at 5:30 AM, I have more energy during the rest of the day, vs when I work out after a full day of work, at 7:30 PM! There ARE days when I try to do 2 workouts, but then I'm done for the rest of the week!

Iron levels? Are you taking iron supplements? That has seemed to help me, some!
B-vitamins? Those also help with energy and immune system issues.

Just a few ideas! Not sure if these will help, but it's worth a try!
Good luck!
Trish

Suzy, I wish I had the answers but your symptoms are much the same as what I go through, except I NEVER seem to have the energy I used to. I wake up exhausted instead of rested & am tired all through the day with continual joint pains mostly in feet, hips & lower back. I am scheduled for a physical in Dec, that's the earliest appointment I could get. Hopefully our Drs will have some answers for both of us.

I've been dealing with over a month of my energy level totally bottoming out each day about 4 PM. Its like I hit rock bottom. emoticon I reduced my stress, eat healthy small meals, drink my water, exercise 6 days a week now and I am dealing with fatigue, no appetite, joint and sometimes muscle pain despite doing stretches and yoga plus cold and heat sensitivity. I have gone to an endocrinologist in Wilmington to have my thyroid checked out and no tumor or nodules (THANK YOU) but some inflammation and mid way in blood labs. So a repeat of blood labs in 8 weeks but that is a long time to keep up this fatigue syndrome. Finally after having my husband tell me straight out this week to call our doctor since he's very concerned. I am usually an upbeat unstoppable force and I am now at lower than midway in my pep meter. My weight is going up, clothes are hurting to put on and I am beyond frustrated.
How do you deal with energy drop offs? I am open to suggestions.
