I have lost almost 70 pounds by reducing carbs and walking regularly. What carbs I do eat generally come from fruits and vegetables. We don't keep much "white" in the house, most of the carbs the kids eat come from whole grains, brown rice, etc.

one of my friends use to have a saying " if you want to keep it tight stay away from the white" meaning white flour products, white rice, white bread, white pastas. I too am having good success with a lower carb diet. Not No carb just lower carbs i try to stay at the low end of carbs or less that i am suppose to have in a day. if i do eat carbs i try and stick to whole grains, wheat, and if i do "eat white" its in small portions. hopes this helps

I have not seen a nutritionist, but that is a very good suggestion. Thank you.

Have you thought about seeing a nutritionist....I know that was the best decision I made. I'm on a low carb diet so I'm restricting to whole grains & healthy carbs.

Before starting my diet I always thought I ate too many carbs, but since I've started tracking my meals it tells me every day I need more carbs. Any suggestions for good carbs without much fat. I am keeping my fat ratio in about 40 gr, so I really don't want to push that higher.

Wishing everyone the best of luck!

Charlene
