I actually live in the northwestern part of Moore County but I have been going to college in Pinehurst for the last two years. It is a lovely area to live and work in, and there is lots to do. Check out Reservoir Park and Nick's Creek Trail near Whispering Pines for some nice walking trails. I've included a link for both places. Enjoy!

I'm from Harnett county, bordering Moore, and live fairly close to the County Line. My hubby and I are actually looking to move to Cameron area of Moore county, because of the schools. I've lived in Harnett County most of my life and went through the school systems here, but things have changed drastically and I'm looking for a better educational system. I worked in Harnett education for five years, and done plenty of research on surrounding counties. Moore county is the way to go.

I've been to both Whispering Pines and Southern Pines. I don't have a preference of either over the other. They are both beautiful places. Beset of Luck on your move!

I live in Lee County (Sanford) not Moore, but we have several friends that live in the Whispering Pines area and like it. I don't know anything about the schools though, our kids are grown.

Hey Everyone. Hubby and I moved to Hope Mills, NC, border of Fayetteville in July of last year. We had to make a quick decision on a four day trip last April and came up with this place we are at because my daughter and her family could move on the same floor as us which was very convenient. Son in law transferred to this area in the Army and we moved too so we could help out with grandsons while sil was deployed.
Because the schools in Cumberland County are a lot less functional that we hoped for, we are moving to Moore County in the summer because of the area that we like and the school system since our older grandson, almost 8 and the younger one going to pre school need to be in a better educational environment.
Anyone from the Sandhills area on here and do you recommend one town over another. Hubby and I kind of favor Southern Pines. Dtr and family want WhisperingPines because of the school system and family life. Any thoughts or opinions are welcomed.

I want to be a person I can look up to.
