Thanks for all the responses. I ended up eating before we went and decided to pick one thing that I really really wanted to I did have corn on the cob but I didn't feel so bad because we walked so much. I was so happy to not be out of breath like the past. I actually rode rides with my son which is something I never did before! emoticon

I'm planning on going to the Fair on Tuesday, and early birthday present from my BFF. We've gone almost every year for the past 6 years, and we were high school friends and would go in a group then also. But this year it is something special... I am going to be able to walk without having to plan to sit and rest, I will have worked out before we go so I will be loose and limber and my body will be ready to move when we hit the fair in the late morning. I wish I had a pedometer so I could measure my walking, but I know that in the past I have had to stop and rest frequently. I am feeling the freedom from my exercise for the last 9 months. My endurance and my strength is great! SO this year, I will be able to enjoy the fair instead of looking around for the next place I can park my butt to rest. :)

be authentically you...

We haven't been since the kids grew up, I don't like crowds, I tend to get a little panicky. When we used to go to the fair, we would have a sandwich before going, the food there was so expensive, not to mention unhealthy.

I love fairs but since DH doesn't, I never get to go. And we are so close to this State Fair, I would love to take it all in as I love the home products as well as the animals.

I always eat before I go. I make sure to take a long a energy bar or something along that lines. I try to steer clear of the food rows. But if I get anything it is an italian sausage with peppers and onions and can only eat half, most of it is bun anyway, so I wrap the rest up and take it home with me where I ditch the bun and just eat the rest from a plate.
The weird fried stuff always keeps me away from that. But there are places that you can get just ice cream or a real lemonade.
Take a bag of homeade popcorn if you want to snack. They don't mind food being brought into the fair.
With the walking you can find something that will be alright for you to partake of if the hunger pains and the taste buds are going crazy. Just have fun!!!! that's the reason to go to the fair.

We always take our daughters for their b'days. My oldest daughter's b'day is during the fair. As for the food, thank goodness the smells make me nauseous, so I don't have to worry about that one. We do get a funnel cake but we have to split it. (Noone is allowed to have their own, saves money and calories) emoticon Maybe since you are doing the EXTRA walking, you could choose a few things that you really want, google the calories & make your choices by that before you go! emoticon Be prepared! Sorry I couldn't help more. Hope you enjoy yourself!

Anyone else headed to the fair? I am taking my son tomorrow. I am looking for suggestions to help me stay away from all the darn delicious fair food!
