I handle the pain by doing aerobic exercises in the pool at the Y, then hitting the warmer hot tub and that feel marvelous. My doctor has me on two meds at bedtime to help me sleep which does help the fatigue most of the time.

I take 50mg 2x daily and it takes about 3 weeks to get into your system. I hope your rheumatologist agrees and gives it a try for you. I don't know where I would be without it.

Thank you both so much for your advice. I do move alot because I work full time doing home health. Thankfully my employer lets me work at my own pace. But I just cant tolerate any cardio exercise, even light aerobic activity for a few minutes just exhausts me and increases the pain and tingling. I'm excited to hear about savella and I cant wait to ask my rheumatologist about it!

I am on Savella for my fibro. It does seem to help take the edge off. It doesn't work when I over tax my body and what a big body it is lol. Yoga is great, heated pools are great, The warmer it is the better I feel. I also practice Bio Feedback which helps as well. The best way to deal with fatigue and pain is to move. MAMALINDALOU is 100% right. It is difficult most days for me as well but you just have to set your mind that you are going to do it and do it. Start of slow, just 10 min of exercise 2x daily and work yourself up to more. Most importantly LISTEN to your body. That is the hardest thing to do but we must listen to it. Delegate household chores if you can and keep an open mind with an open schedule. You may have to spend the day resting before a vacation and a couple more resting when you return and the same premise for outings with friends and things. I hope this helps.
take care

It is hard to control pain but the more you move it seems to help. I do take a couple of different meds, but contact your Dr. for any type of meds. I switched Drs. and found out that two of the meds should not of been mixed. I hope you find something that works for you.

Fibro makes each day a challenge just to participate in normal daily activities. Pain and fatigue and the sense of isolation can be overwhelming. Please share how you manage your symptoms on a daily basis. Has anyone tried yoga? How does food affect you? Are you taking pain medication? Any tips for managing your symptoms?
