Well, I made it...barely. I was 159 when I stepped on the scale yesterday morning. Of course, hubby made stuffed peppers for dinner, so I probably gained it all back... lol

I didn't meet my goal either. Discouraged because I felt like I was doing the right things - but I'm glad I joined in the challenge because I've feel like I've been progressing. I can see more muscle tone and have been working out more than I had been. I don't feel like it's as much of a chore anymore - which should keep me on track to eventually get to my goal .

Didn't hit my goal of 143. Darn. Trying to keep my chin up, though. I am learning a lot about health and diet and have slowly been changing my eating habits because of this. I am hoping that eventually my body will catch up with my head. Good luck everyone :)

Again, whether or not you are celebrating it was just a day to have people check up on their goals and keep all that momentum from new years. Congrats to those who have met their goals!! emoticon And for those like me who did not, keep at it and don't get discouraged. I am still fluctuating between 136 and 137. It hasn't been a great month and 1/2 for me- still unemployed, eating my feelings (aka lots of junk food) but I am just so glad that I have not gained any weight with my poor habits and being in the 130's consistently is a victory for me. I still need to turn over a new leaf to get my butt in a higher gear! Good luck to everyone on their journeys!

I get weighed and measured on Saturday, so my goal is to lose weight and inches by Valentine's Day. I'm not expecting a huge change, but I'm hoping for something :)

Starting Weight: 150 lbs.
Goal Weight: 130 lbs.
Current Weight: 145.0 lbs.

Goal #1: 145 lbs - Get my hair and nails done. (Done!)
Goal #2: 140 lbs. - Use my gift card to a spa that I got for Christmas!
Goal #3: 135 lbs. - Go on a mini-vacation with my fiance.
Goal #4: 130 lbs. - Go wedding dress shopping!

My biggest goal for V-Day is to not give in to the sign I pass everyday on my way to and from work that says gourmet chocolate strawberries - Order today!

It would also be nice to lose two pounds this week to show myself that I am making progress!

I'd like to consistently fluctuate around 166 pounds, which is what I weighed in at today, instead of fluctuating around 170 (a plateau I've been at for a couple weeks). I'm ok with my weight fluxing, it's done it within a 3 lb range forever, but I'd like the midpoint to be a tad lower!! ;-)

I'd also like to lose a little bit around my thighs and a little more off my tummy by the 14th... bought a cute red dress that looks awesome that I'd like to look that much better!

If you can't fix it with duct tape, get rid of it!

I want to be under 140-I don't care if it's 139.9, as long as I'm under! I have always lost momentum before when I got to 14, or ruined it by trying extreme weight loss tactics, so I would like to just be under 140. Ideally, I would like to lose 4lbs and be 136.

I'd like to take a pill that made me six stone. Then I could eat my way back up to ten. What a great weekend that would be. Jo Brand.

Another awesome run yesterday- 9mi in 99min. If I can keep this pace, I will meet my marathon time goal, (5hrs) yay :)
My knee was definitely mad at me yesterday evening though- ok today, but I could use to ice again today.

Haven't lost *any* weight, but with a new meal plan this week I hope I can work on that. =/

Good, I needed a new challenge now that bootcamp is over! No date for Valentine's Day this year but I'd be just as happy with one of those as I would with breaking 170 ONCE AND FOR ALL!
So, that's my goal. At 172 right now (I GAINED 2lbs. this week - HOW? WHAT?) and if I was 168 by the 14th that would be awesome.
And, another goal...from tonight through the 14th to be in bed by 10pm each night!

Still stuck at 139 =( That's where I was when we started. So frustrating. Oiy, oh well. I guess it took 6 months to loose 4 pounds, I shouldn't have gotten so excited when I FINALLY lost those pounds.

I had an alright week - down to 133.8 - so a .6 lb loss. Not as good as I wold have hoped, but better than nothing. If I keep going at this rate, I won't make my v-day goal, but hey, might as well keep pushing to try to get there. I'll at least be closer.

SUDENLYSUZN, I'm right there with you! I'm on my 3rd cold/sinus infection this winter, although thankfully this one has not yet featured the ear drum rupture like the last one. Since I just really started exercising again two weeks ago, it's a bit tough to have the first few weeks be hampered by being sick.

Let's see:
Two weeks ago, when I started, I was at 230 lb. Right now, I'm somewhere around 228.
For V-day, I'd like to be able to increase the resistance level on the arc trainer from the easiest setting when I do my 20 min warmup. I'd love to be closer to 225.

Thanks for the thread! Good idea to have intermediate goals-- makes getting to the bigger ones seem less overwhelming.

Down to 215 by 30th birthday (11 Apr 10): In progress!

Suzn, yes, I would recommend the Biggest loser movies! I have the cardio one right now because that's what I need some help with, but they all seem great. It is designed to be a 6 week program. There are workouts for week 1-2, 3-4, and 5-6. The first weeks are basic moves, 20 min, and then the next two add on 10 more minutes each time, ending w/ 50 min total including warm up and cool down. I think they are really helpful so far...I know this from my sore factor after I began, haha.

i love to see everyone so active on this thread! I weighed in 136 yesterday, 1 pound loss but I'm waiting to officially record it until i make sure it sticks. i came down with a cold this week which may have turned into a sinus infection (sheesh! i feel like i just can't win this month) so that has for sure affected my eating and as for exercise, well, does walking back and forth to the bathroom to blow my nose 10 times an hour count? :/

littlestred- i know what its like to have some jeans too big, some too small, and none just right! but its always good when something feels looser than it used to.

I would like to be at 117 by valentines day but if i could hit 118 of real weight (not right in the morning before ive even had water.. i mean 118 mid day with food eaten) thatd be ok too. as long as im seeing results! This is mine and my husbands first vday as a married couple :))) i think 2-3 lbs is SO reasonable to lose in 3 1/2 weeks.. even shooting extremely low. so im hopeful to at least hit that

I'm keeping up with runs, no problem! I think I need to get some insoles though, my shins are acting up.
My weight has actually gone up, from 139 to 141.5. I'm hoping this is because I'm working out harder? Although I always work hard so it's frustrating. I'll keep tracking those calories though.

No change in weight for me this week. 134.4 again.
On the plus side, I worked out 4 days last week, including my 4 mile run on Saturday, which is more than I've done in a while.
I'm hoping once I start to log more miles in the coming weeks, I'll start to see a bit more progress on the scale.

Great idea! Right now I'm at 161, I think my goal for Valentines Day is 156. Five pounds seems do-able since I tend to lose weight slowly. My eventual goal is 150 by May (I'm 5'8"). I figure if I lose more than 5 lbs by V Day, great, but I don't want to set myself up to be disappointed. I plan to keep up with my workouts, eat well and keep track of my food, and hopefully the weight will come off. Good luck to everyone!

still at the same weight- at least i'm consistent! i'm feeling very optimistic about this coming week though because my friend just gave me two workout dvd's, and i think the weather is supposed to be nice so i'll try to start jogging again. time to kick it up!

My goal is to go from 139 (today) to 135. Incidentally this will put me in the healthy bmi range :)
Secondary goal- keep up with marathon training and don't miss any runs.

Great job everyone!
I weighed myself on a different scale today... I'm traveling... and I sure hope it's right! It said 137.5, which would mean I'm down 1.5lbs!!!!!!!!!! Super exciting for this girl who was on a plateau for about six months!!! YAYAY!!!

My Birthday is actually on Valentine's Day. I will be turnng 27, so it's not a momumental one, and I don't have any big plans. But I think my goal will be to hit 130 and stay there by then. I've been hovering between 132 and 134 so I think if I can get to 130 that would be helpful.

down 1.5 lbs! and I also met my exercise goal (4+ times weekly)!

I started weight training with my friends yesterday--hopefully this will help a lot (my muscle mass is really low--most of my weight is pure fat. More specifically pure butt-fat. hehe)

i just realized it is one month until our goal date! congrats to those who have already lost a pound or more! and for those who are still stuck (myself included) keep plugging away! I can see that for me, losing 7 pounds in one month would not be a good idea so I'm going to hope for 5 pounds, and if I am 132 by V-Day I would be psyched! I hope everyone is doing well. I still need to get out of this serious slump that I'm in...

I am 143 right now (been stuck between 143 and 144 for a week, but that's down from what I was before so that's ok). By V-day I want to be 137. I just ordered a workout video that should kick my butt so I'm excited about that and can't wait for it to arrive. Good luck to everyone!

My Valentine's Day goal is 138-139. I have the prettiest dress to wear that fits fine now but would look awesome without so many, umm, bumps. I already told hubby we are going out this year (last year had a week and a half old baby)!

I weighed in at 134.4 this week. Not a huge loss, but it's down from my 135 weigh-in last week and smaller than any of the "unofficial peeking" numbers I looked at during the week. So I'll take it. A small loss is better than none at all.

I struggled with food last week, so my goals for this week are to focus on tracking better and being more careful with my calories.

Hope everyone else has seen success as well...even if they're small. At least we're moving in the right direction!

Yay! I just found out my bf is coming to visit me for V-day so I have extra reason to try to lose 1.5/wk until then! I'm hoping to lose a total of 7.5 lbs--wish me luck!

Goal 1: Lose 7.5 lbs (1.5/week)
Goal 2: Exercise 4+ times weekly (as much as possible--trying for every day!)

Great thread idea! While I don't have any special plans for valentine's day... my goal will be to hit 164 by 2/14! I am about 171 right now, and 164 is officially into "healthy BMI" territory for me. This gives me a little over a month to drop 7 pounds!

I've got plans to go to a big dance festival with the bf over valentines day, and I'd really love to wear a beautiful slightly-too-small dress from my closet.

I'm down to the last 10 pounds to my final goal weight (which is awesome) but I've been stuck at 130 for mooonths now. I really need to kick myself into losing those last pounds. So I'm planning to have lost half of them by V-day :-) 125 here we come!

Awesome! Remember everyone, to keep posting at least once a week until V-day with a status update on how you are doing reaching your goal. I have been having some minor health issues but I have a doctors appointment on wednesday so i'm hoping to get back on track hard core after that. I went for a long walk yesterday and planning another one today- I can't do anything too strenuous right now, but I figure it's better than nothing! and since its so cold out I find that I walk a lot faster, lol.

I'm at 139 now. I'd love to be at 135 by February 14th (Tell the people you love them EVERY DAY)... we shall see.. I've just started moving from the plateau of the year (seriously, like 6 months) so hopefully it will happen! If not, I'd love to loose some more inches, but I don't know what is realistic.

So... a very realistic goal- don't give into "Holiday" sweets. Don't eat crummy chocolate just because it's chocolate. Spend the extra- get the good stuff. Your waist and taste will thank you!

SUDENLYSUZN I totally understand your plateau feeling...I weighed in at 134 Monday/Tuesday, so I thought I was good. I've been running and tracking everything I eat, so I figured I would at least maintain. Imagine my surprise at 135 this morning. I think (hope) it's because I had too much sodium, and I'll be back down by my offical weigh-in day.

I'm hoping to lose 7 pounds and I just guessed on the inches because I have never tracked my progress that way so I don't know if aiming for a full inch loss is normal or not, but we'll see and I'll be diligent about weighing in emoticon

My short term goal is to be into the 150's by V-Day. I'm at 161.5 right now but my current cold is kicking by butt in weight loss. Ideally I would like to be on my way out of the 150's by then, but we'll see.
It's been so long since I've been out of the 150's it doesn't even register as a goal. I must fix that.

My goal for Valentines day is to participate in the "Run Away With My Heart" 3 mile walk/run on Feb 13th. My secondary goal to that is to run 1 of the 3 miles.

Not because I have any special plans that day, it doesn't matter if you do anything for V-Day or not, it's just a short term date to hopefully jump start people into keeping their new years goals!
To start- Post your starting weight (and/or inches if you want to measure that) and your V-Day goal! then we can update each other on our progress and keep each other motivated and accountable. For whatever reason threads like this seem to help me and I was waiting for one to appear and when it didn't I took the initiative. Spread the Spark!
