As far as I know Tofu can take on the flavor of what it is cooked together with(much like cauliflower in this respect)
A rather famous basting sauce is just a mix of barbeque sauce, tomato sauce and worcesteshire sauce.
Maybe marinading the tofu in this mix may give a BBQ character if you then grill it

Once many lifetimes ago I had BBQ tofu. I don't know if I was just hungry or if there was some secret in the recipe, but I have never been able to create it again.

The tofu was grilled outside and had a sauce on it. anybody got any methods of getting a fab BBQ grilled tofu?

We have used very little of these over the years.
Although healthy, they tend to be expensive(this includes Tofu)
Quorn has a small range of manufactured items.
We have mainly tended to buy vegetarian sausages. Wrapped in puff-pastry and baked they make very good sausage rolls.
Suggest you use vegetarian products as an additional ingredient in hamburgers, spaghetti sauces etc much in the same way that parents disguise veges in their kids dishes.

I've started to think about using the "fake Meat" as my husband calls it.
Not only tofu but the chicken, beef and other items. To me they are mysteries because I am
not familiar with them. To My hubby they must become unidentifiable from the real stuff.

Suggestions are welcome on how to sneak these into our meals. Maybe slowly at first and under great secrecy so Hubby doesn't notice.
