I think part of the aversion is because most people just have it boiled (or is it steamed?) which sounds so boring no wonder people don't want it. There are so many different ways to prepare vegetables and make them delicious if people knew what to do with them I think more people would like them. I prefer broccollini to broccoli too stir-fried and/or in a sauce or broccoli with cheese cause (or broccoli and cheese soup). Hmm adding bits of broccoli to mac and cheese shouldn't be bad.

Some people dont take too kindly to Brussel Sprouts.
The idea I submitted has been generally well_accepted over the years.
I have a slight aversion to Broccoli, I generally prefer having the steamed or stir-fried Brocollini, or regular Brocolli, in cheese soup.

To keep my kale lasting longer in the fridge. I stores it in a plastic bag with a wet paper towel wrapped around it. I also blow air into the bag and ties the bag to keep the air in. I read something about the carbon dioxide helping it to last longer and I got the wet paper towel idea from Guy Fieri. It seems to help.

The brussel sprout recipe sounds delicious (confession: I've never had brussel sprouts, it's never been served to me in a dish).

I made the brussel sprouts the way you suggested Rkottek - turned out fabulous!! And very easy. My mother-in-law was impressed. She usually bakes hers.

And I've made kale chips before too - they are delicious!

Just put an order in for some Kale seedlings from a neighborhood group I belong to.

To stop Kale going bad maybe you could make Kale chips in the oven or blanch then freeze like spinach.

Rkottek - kale is not expensive here in Texas. About $4 for a very large bag. Problem is - when you're the only one eating it, it goes bad. The smaller bags of baby kale are more expensive, but taste better. The frilly kale stands up to more and doesn't wilt as fast.. Your brussel sprout recipe sounds great - I have family coming for dinner tomorrow. Might try it if I don't get to the store for all the rest of that other recipe!

@KDGIRL

I've heard that Brussel sprouts are very nice, quartered and fried with butter, pepper salt and nutmeg.

Kale is expensive to buy in Australia as it has been promoted in the last few years as a "superfood"

Ironically I just got a bag of shaved brussel sprouts for free yesterday for buying something else - and wondered what to do with them. I'm going back to get the other ingredients!
