nice. now I think I need to write one!

you pick your spot on the rack,
a spot you can remember so as to make it back.

you stand at the beach,
a perfect race is in your reach.

a bumpy start leads to a steady pull,
a little harder to reach your goal.
a fast swim in the sun ,
back on the beach and that part is done.

a race to my bike and the part 2 has begun!
I lock into the pedals and move the chain thru the rung.
I push too hard on the bike and on the run I will pay,
On the edge I pedal, I will stay strong this day.

A leap off the bike and a pain starts to grow,
for after the run, it is the end off the show.

I find my pace and talk to myself till the end,
no time to walk, it is just around the bend
the finish line,a promise of rest,
How hard I have to push my self, will prove to be the test.

all your training comes down to a startling find,
all of your problems, start in your mind.
your in the last mile,
you start to smile
you finish strong, you finished the race..
for the next half hour, you see where you placed.

you chat with friends and feel proud of what you done,
and you realize, that the swim may be tough at the start of the gun
,but the bike is as fun as the run.

Ha,lame I know but that was that was fun. any other poets out there.

Hope I feel that day on race day

Molly- I'm a Buckeye (Ohio)

"I'm a running contradiction....I am a runner and I am lazy. I know that running allows me to enjoy my down time to a greater level. I am a runner first, lazy second. For me, these aren't mutually exclusive terms. Without one, I couldn't enjoy the other."

Thank you so much Bob Schwartz (I Run, Therefore I Am- Nuts!) for this lovely, funny insight into my life.

The pain/ the wait is over ready to go again: by Rosemary

The pool is still, slow
but I just think to myself I'm a waterbaby
but my swim is slow
slow is good
for me,
I tell myself
I need to save my legs for the bike and run

run is what i do best,
I'm out of the pool
and it's freezing, I then find myself at the end of my bike leg
almost at the start ready to get my favourite shoes

And I say to my legs "if you babies can carry me the distance
you shall rest later"

cause after this tri is over I will be saying to myself "now how easy was that",
lets do that over and over again
that's after all my pain is gone.
