I have loc's and I roll it with rollers and wear it curly. I don't do much. I also use pipe cleaners to do other curly styles. I pin it back sometimes and add shells and desiger beads but that's about it and clips.

NOTHING IS GOING TO STAND IN MY WAY

I have gone to stylists in the past that overbooked and didn't take their time...thankfully I never had any "issues" due to it...my last stylist was excellent in that she took her time and actually cared about healthy hair...she has one of those steamers and she sits all of her clients under it regardless of the service they were getting...I just wish she would be "more" knowledgeable about natural hair but I think she is learning...I will still go to her for my trims and protective styles (like roller sets)....after I take my Senegalese Twist out, I will definitely need to see her for a trim and a DC.....

I Did my BC in mid August and only had a half inch of hair.

So far I have mainly worn my twa with a headband and this month i wore yarn braids/ genie locs. It was really cute but I miss my afro and I could use sone time to focus on moisturizing my hair before i do any more braids. My hair looks good. Plenty of growth and only a little bit dry. Deep Conditioner HERE I COME!!!

I hear you on big chopping. It has to be your decision. Only do so if you are comfortable with it. Personally it was the best option for me because my natural hair was like the complete opposite my relaxed hair. To give perspective when I got a relaxer the stylist would work in the chemicals like usual and send me to the shampoo bowl. Sounds normal right?! Yeah if I was sent there to start the rinse and wash. I was sent there to get out of her chair so she could start on someone elses style. I used to joke that the relaxer needed time to marinate! So for me the two textures just didnt blend well but that's my hair story everyone has their own :) Either way we are doing what is good for our hair.

p.s. When I mentioned clips, I meant hair clips like "grown up" barrettes.

I probably won't be able to do a twist out for a while...I still have a head full of straight hair since I am not big chopping but I have seen some lovely twist outs...

I'm wearing a twist-in style. I use heat sparingly so it takes my hair a while to dry. A few clips here and pins there and I can have a cute style in prep for a well defined twist out.

Double stranded twists for a week and untwisted the following week, is my hairstyle of choice for low maintenance. I use a variety of clips, colored hair bands and studded hair barrettes to really brings out my style and draw focus to my hair.

I get compliments on my hair often. See Compliments of the day section of our forum.

What styles have you tried on your natural hair?

For me, I have done the teeny weeny afro, the two strand twist, and the two strand twist out. I have also done braids though I didn't like them very much.
