I've told a friend of mine, I will go ice if she goes roller. I'm from Michigan and never really liked ice skating. I need hockey skates just to stand up. So to answer your question. I will try anything again once. So I would go, but it isn't likely I would continue.

DH is being a stick in the mud, so no skating tonight. Maybe this weekend or next. I'm also planning on getting my daughter enrolled in ice skating lessons. Do you ever mix it up with ice skating?

Tonight is kid friendly. I also go skating on Saturday mornings.

But this Saturday they are not open in the morning. I tend to not go Saturday 1-3, because it is REALLY busy. I live across the street, so I generally watch for the busy times.

I'm not going New Year's Eve, because normally when they do their events it is busy. Plus I don't want to pay for pepperoni pizza and rental skates when I don't eat pepperoni and I have my own skates.

Cindy and I joke that we have a sparkmeeting every week at CalSkate.

Thanks Cindy. I keep trying to make it out there. I've been so busy with the holidays I just haven't been able to make it. We've been out of town most weekends. We will be home this Saturday but leaving for Laughlin and Las Vegas on Sunday morning. I will be packing and getting the house in order for the house sitter on Saturday, but am really going to try to make it this week. I checked their website and it says this Saturday will be from 12:30 to 1:00.

On a side note, we took our daughter to The Patch last week for "ice" skating on the fake ice. She had a blast, but I wasn't brave enough to try it.

Dawn, you should have your child take the skating classes on Saturday mornings from 10:30-11:00 (be there by 10:20 or they won't let you in). My son just turned 8 and he learned that way. Now he takes the advanced class. It's $10 and includes the lesson, rental skates, and the 2 hour session. We are there every Saturday but we are in San Diego this week so we won't be there. Definitely the following Saturday though. About 2-3 lessons and the kids are good to go...adults take a little longer to teach...lol! Please join us sometime.

That's funny. I just sent you sparkmail about the Saturday skating events! Is the evening event kid friendly? I have a somewhat clumsy 7 year old who would love to go skating!

Come skating at CalSkate Thursday 6:30-8:30pm. It is a great form of exercise, you don't even notice you're burning over 600 calories in 2 hours.
