I've found this to be true, too. If you eat a lot of fat and carbs in the days before you test, you're numbers will be higher and if you go low fat, low carb they will be lower, but that doesn't help your overall health or decrease your chances of a heart attack. If your goal is to be heathier, best to get on a low fat, reduced carb diet with regular cardio and strength training and stay on it, not just do it at testing time. And add fish oil or some form of omega 3 oil daily.

In addition to what has been already said by Bebar149 I would suggest reviewing what you have eaten for the last couple of weeks before you took the test. It may give you some insight to the amounts of saturated fats etc. you are eating that can impact your numbers. I have found that eating more fats, particularly saturated types increase both my HDL and LDL similar to what you experienced.

Latest labs
Total = 270 up 90 points
LDL = 154 up 20 points
HDL= 85 up 10 points
Triglycerides=114 down 60 points

These numbers seem to going in all different directions.
