Some of us inherit cholesterol. ;-) Our bodies just make a lot of it. Eating things like oatmeal, plant sterols, Metamucil, and pectin (apples and other fruit with the skin on) help move it through our bowels and out of our body so less of it gets absorbed but sometimes that's not enough.

Taking omega 3 oil (I think fish oil is best) and lowering carbs reduce triglycerides.

I heard about something new recently that was suppose to be better than statin but less bothersome. I meant to check on but forgot what it was. I'm hoping I hear it again.

I am fairly active - walk 60 minutes per day, 60 min. of Jazzercise 2-3 days/week, and I use a vibration plate machine 10-30 minutes per day.
