well I can certainly understand that! I think your new mantra should be "if I can climb mt. Kilimanjaro, I can lose x lbs"

Seriously - the day I climb some ridiculously high summit that will be my comparative for everything! Right now all I have is, if I can walk 60 miles.... ;-D

It's not just the 3+ pounds from vacation. It's also the other 5 that have crept on over the last year and a half. My pants are tighter and my tummy pooch is bigger! But at least I'm still working on it...

Hey Alicia, don't let those 3 pounds bum you out, they're not worth it!! Just think of this great trip you just had and how fit you are to have conquered that sucker of a mountain!

This is not shaping up to be my best month. Had a hard time getting back into a routine after vacation and the extra pounds are really bumming me out. I'm just going to try to finish strong and look ahead to next month...

yikes! ages!!!

i don't remember particulars at this point. BUT i am exercising most every day for at least 30 minutes (twice so far this week it's been more than that).

i have NOT been doing my stretching and yoga before bed. i need to make that a habit.

i am logging back on spark. generally pretty happy with the results so far. which is nice, since i wasn't really logging much at all, but even though i'm back to logging, i'm not having to change my eating habits to keep the numbers in line.

hmmm, been a few days since i've checked in!

7/9-10: yes on exercise. 7/11: helped b's sister move, so kind of counting that. 7/12-13: nope.

7/9-7/13: no on my yoga before bed. i need to do this. it helps the back feel better!

7/9-7/13: haven't logged at all. it's been a bit confusing, we've gone out a lot more than i like. and i think i need to start logging on sp again. i'm just not filling in the numbers. even though i don't want to see the calories, i do need to see the balance.

calen - do you have a balance of carbs/protein for your meals? i've worked out several meals that have 3 "units" of carbs and 2-3 "units" of protein, if you'd like me to share (this was the recommendation from my nutritionist).

Ok, then! I'm hopping back in here. Mostly because since I did the challenge at Lent with the Coke, I haven't really had any! Maybe a dozen times, and it was diet. So I have decided to give it up permanently! At least I'm going to see how long a streak I can do.

And now that I am getting Arn interesting in working on carb content on meals, I'm going to do the 5-a-day fruits/veggies, too. Starting the first of the month.

exercise: 30 on a steep incline on the treadmill
yoga: nope. was exhausted after class, just went to bed.
logging: food, yes. numbers, alas, no. i think i might start logging on sp again. even though it has calories, it also has the other numbers, rather than go back and forth with my spreadsheet.

Then don't! Mind your p's and q's for a week, keep your butt moving & then weigh yourself! :-)

I decided yesterday's lunch was going to be my 1 meal a week of junk food, so all targets but veggies were a bust. Plus, I worked late, then went grocery shopping. By the time I got home & ate, it was 10 p.m. so the dogs were victims to my schedule too. Poor babies.

Back on the bandwagon...

Goals:
* 19 hours of exercise
* min. exercise 4x/week
* 135 by July 31

07.02: 30 minutes yoga
weight: 137.2

To be honest, I thought I was looking pretty good after we got off the mountain. I didn't have a scale, but I felt strong and my tummy seemed flatter. Then we went on "safari" for 5 days with no physical activity save standing in the truck looking for animals and eating way too much. Then we hit the beach in Dubai instead of the gym. By the time we got home, my weight was the highest it's been in the last few years. We've been home a week and my weight is back under 140, but I really need to focus! And we're climbing (hiking, really) Mt. Whitney again in August, so at least I have a goal to train towards...

I think I'm going to stick to my same goals as June and try to make even better numbers.

June stats to better in July, on a daily basis

No fast or fried food more 77% of days
Walk my dogs more than 50%
Eat 5 or more servings of f&v a day more than 83% of the month
Avoid candy more than 90% of the time
Avoid soda more than 77% of the time!

So to start off the month

i know it seems like i took june and most of may off, but i've still be fairly diligent with my eating and exercising.

my current goals are:
-30 minutes of exercise every day
-4-6 yoga poses/stretches for my lower back (apart from the above 30 minutes)
-log my food in my spreadsheet WITH the numbers i'm tracking (currently carb & protein)

i think that's good for now. i have got to get that 30 minutes in as habit. and that's what's tripping me up currently. i did order the game that joey was talking about, and i'm hoping that it will prompt me to pull out my wii fit more often as well.
