Wish I could help!
My former psych prescribed it but insurance wouldn't pay for it - because it was so new it wasn't in their formulary yet. Same psych kept throwing the "drug of the week" the reps gave her at me so I found another better psych doc, She's willing to listen and agrees that using some of the old school meds works best for me....now easing off Fetzima and getting on amitriptyline (sp?).

As far as not gaining weight, I found it was easier to drink lots of water, eat plenty freggies, get rid of as many processed foods as possile and really watch how many carbs I consume.

My body is a fat burning machine!

Hi,

I would watch my portions and weigh everything to be sure that they are accurate. Cut out most of your sugar consumption and eat lots of veggies and fruits for natural sugar. Drink your water and you should not have too big a problem. I have never had this medication, so I can't tell you what to expect. I looked up Vraylar on the internet and increased hunger or thirst is one of the possible side effects. If you have to have smaller meals more often during the day. That helps your blood sugar stay more constant and that should keep you feeling full, but not stuffed. If you work the program it will work for you. Sometimes it is so hard to keep weight off if it really stimulates the hunger pangs. You can do it if you watch your calories really well and use the nutrition tracker to monitor your calories in and your calories out. Exercise !! Moderate exercise will help keep you feeling good. I wish you great success with your goals. Take care and God bless. Deb

Is or has anyone taken Vraylar? My Dr just put me on it a couple weeks ago. It seems to be helping but it's brand new to the market and I'm nervous about weight gain. Any ideas to help combat weight gain associated with medications?
