Love the info on coloring books. I just discovered my computer has a program for laying one out. Maybe when I finish this challenge (and my poetry chapbook project!) I'll try it. Could be fun.

I've been seeing the adult coloring books everywhere. Even our local grocery store. Walmart and Target have a decent selection of them. And if you live in an area with a 5 below, they have them also.

If you shop online, they are available through Amazon - also through big book stores. Or if you are a Pinterist fan you can download and print very lovely individual pages. Whatever makes you happy!

Angie, you can buy those adult coloring books at Michael's or Hobby Lobby. They are very beautiful and cheap. I have been buying a color book and a package of markers for gifts for my friends lately and they love them.

I have always loved to color. I am looking for a coloring book for an adult. I don't like to shop this time of year, so it might have to wait until after Christmas. A book store would have one, so will plan on that in middle of January.

Now I have card making stuff and scrapbook albums I need to finish. I think my friend and I are going to make some Christmas cards this afternoon.

I agree. When I was over at the in laws I colored a bit and remember it made me calm.

Great idea. I recently moved to be close to my Grandchildren. My Granddaughter and I color together often. It is very soothing and now she asks me every time she comes over to get out the crayons and markers. I have taught her it is art and needs to be signed by the artist before it is finished. Her name is all she can write now but it makes her proud to do it.

I was waiting for my neurologist appointment and noticed an "art table" at the end of the waiting room. (I got there early, as I left early to travel 400 miles to get to my appointments as I live at a place called "the end of the road.)

I tried it... really lowered the stress to fiddle with beads or clay or draw things. For about 9 months now I try to draw something every day - often with chalk, sometimes with the simple "paint" program on my computer. It reduces stress a LOT. I got some inexpensive plain notebooks (also a roll of butcher paper) and chalk and ink and crayons, and I doodle away. The point isn't being good, the point is having fun. Attached are a few samples.

Can't afford a therapist or waiting a long time for your next appointment? Try drawing something every day for a month. (And if you can, take a cell phone picture or save a jpg and share it here. If not, how about just saying what you drew?) Here are a couple silly things I did recently.)
