Terri, I to like the idea of accepring yourself as you are.

But, I did like keeping detailed records of my weight, blood sugar, blood pressure and measurements. I feel lost without it but, at the same time I feel free. Saves me time but, I used to go back and check on things with those records. It's just the Virgo in me I guess.

Accept Your Body Exactly as It Is:

"As contrary as this may sound , rather than being dissatisfied and impatient with your weight, try being comfortable with yourself exactly as you are right now."

(I have done this and it has lifted a weight off my shoulders).

Throw Your Scales Away:

"Don't look at your scales for the first six months of your transformation!

This goes hand in hand with being okay exactly as you are right now. It's been my experience that the weight comes off in quantum leaps periodically. This means that you may be in plateaus for certain periods of time. If you weigh yourself everyday, you can easily get discouraged during a plateau. But plateaus are important consolidation periods. Even though it may not be showing, a lot of things could be going on biochemically inside you that are getting you ready for the next big breakthrough.
Weighing your self every day keeps the focus on how quickly you are losing weight. Take the focus off how quickly you're losing weight and focus instead on how effectively you are transforming you body permanently."

(This makes sense to me and it also lifted a weight off my shoulders, no more keeping records eighter).

I am glad and apology accepted from you too. I don't ever set out to create drama or hard feelings. I'm all about Zumba Love, and I just wanted to get an idea.

Thanks anyway. Maybe keep us posted on what you learn and how it works for you. I would love to hear all about it as you figure out what "it" is. :)

Sandy, I accept your apology and I am sorry to for taking your comments as an attract on me.

I didn't know that much about the Gabriel Method then and I'm still learning about it. I just bought the book on Tue. Aug. 17, 2010 and I have just finished the 6th chapter and one of the things in that the chapter talks about is forgiveness for yourself and others. So I want you to know I forgive you and myself for what I thought you were doing.

Terri, is right you can download the first chapter of the Gabriel Method from the website free. You can also get the visualization cd free when you buy the book at a book store for about $15.00 or buy it from the GM site for $39.95 and get 11 audios with it. If a person is short on time and drives in traffic to work, the audios would be great to have cause you can lessen to Jon Gabriel reading the book to you while driving.

I am sorry that I didn't understand and the comment I made should have been done in a privet message.

I am sorry you took my post as offensive, that was not my intention. I am just trying to get a basic idea of what it is before I buy a book. Currently, I am reading a number of books and have a big list of books that I'd like to read. If worthwhile, I would read it, but I guess I'm just trying to see if anyone has a BASIC idea of what it actually is.

For example, if someone asks me what is Zumba, I don't say "lots of people are having success with it, it is really great!" - instead, I explain that it is a latin dance based fitness program where fitness movements are used with dance steps to make a fun workout. It does not replace trying it, but at least the person gets some basic idea of what IT IS. That's all I am trying to get an idea about. If nobody can answer that, that is okay, but I am MERELY CURIOUS.

And I am not at my goal weight...so I am interested. There are a lot of things that work for people, but since not all things are good methods for all people, I was hoping to find some very basic information. It sounded as if you may have that information, so that is why I asked.

I am unsure what your comment about co-leader has to do with this topic...but the reason I agreed to do it was to offer insight since I'm a Zumba Instructor and can answer a lot of questions. Also, I think the private message is a more appropriate location for this type of comment.

HI!! I had downloaded the first chapter and found it intriguing. He may be on to something. It seems the body is craving nutrients but we keep eating all the wrong things so we end up eating more. Jon Gabriel also seems interested in visualization and some other things. I will watch the videos when I get back from errands tonight,

More knowledge is always good. Maybe once we all see the videos we can discuss it...

Iím sorry you canít make the time to watch videos.

I havenít bought The Gabriel Method book yet but, Iím doing research by watching videos and reading everything I can find on the net. Iím doing this because I find it amazing that Jon Gabriel and countless other are having so much success with his method.

Since you are at your goal weight, maybe you have no need for extra encouragement but, I do and others on this team do too. So would you please stop being so discouraging to me.

If you truly are curious about WHAT IS the Gabriel Method, maybe you should do what I did and research it or buy the book. Iím sure if you open your mind you will find the answers you are looking for or you can Zumba on.

I find myself wondering why I invited you to become a co-leader. You havenít been on here in months until I posted this thread.

I didn't have time to watch videos now, but what I'm most curious about is WHAT IS the Gabriel method? Does he explain that anywhere? I'm sure if he did he would not sell any books.
