You inspire me Carol, I guess I will have to walk on my treadmill today though. It's 27 degreese here and I'm a sun-belt baby.

You take care on the slippery ground!!!

It will be next week before I go to class.

Hugs,
Charlie

Let me know how you like it. I absoultly love taking Zumba. I feel so energized, and feel like I have really done something for me and my body. I did walk outside 2 miles today. I needed my ski poles though, it was very slippery!!

I have found a Zumba class just down the road (20 miles or so) that I'm going to try. I have never been to a live class. Wish me luck.

I was really happy to find out that the dance studio, next door to my OLD gym, that closed, my favorite Zumba teacher, Suzy, is going to start classed there next week. The great thing about it, is they are only going to charge 3 bucks a class!!! I tried the Zumba at the Y, I really liked it, but the only time they offer it is on Friday nights, which is a bad night for me. I so enjoy a class, it seems to push me to do more. I did do the water aerobics last night, it was such a great work out.

Today has been rather challenging, food wise. My appetite hasn't stopped today, and it seemed like no matter what I ate, it wasn't the thing I wanted. Tomorrow will be a better day, gotta get this appetite under control.

Hay Everybody, knot to change the subject But,
I'm so excited!!! I just had to tell everybody that I rode my horse Boo yesterday. emoticon

So I AM THANKFUL that God gave me the courage to finally do that!!!

For those of you who don't know, that has been my Goal since I bought her over a year ago.

What I did was, I paid a young professional horseman $20. to ride her for an hour so I could see if she would stand still when you get on her and just generally how she handled. When I saw that see handled GREAT for him then I was confident enough to see if I could get up on her myself.

You see, when we bought her I did a Big Boo-Boo. I bought her without ridding her or seeing anyone else.

I am so Excited now about riding Boo instead of just grooming and walking her, I just had to tell EVERYBODY and I looked it up, 30 minutes of horseback riding burns 321 calories.

Elaine, I think the trick is to enjoy life once in awhile (with no guilt) and then get right back in the saddle. It seems to be working for me.

If we can't enjoy life within reason then what's the use, right.

Oh by the way we won the "Holly Moly Award".

Hi Charlie, Thanks for telling this. It is so interesting.

I had guests for a long weekend and we attended a party on Saturday evening, went out to eat Friday evening, and also ate a lot of food that I prepared. So...of course, today I got on the scale and it is way up there. I am wondering how to cope with this type of thing. Maybe it is just being able to "rein in" afterwards. But with the holidays coming in Nov and Dec I am wondering if there would be a better stategy.

But, your cook out sounds like a lot of fun. Elaine

Saturday 25th was my brother's Annual Horseshoe Cookout, so I baked my famous backed beans to take and made an extra batch for the Holy Smoke cook-off for our Cowboy Church Sunday Dinner.

We had a great Saturday! Party at 2PM, we ate and played Horseshoes, Washer toss, Croquet, and Dominoes . Then about 6:30PM my brother, a nephew, Dubby and I went out to the Church to dig a 3'x 3' hole to cook a couple of briskets in. We were there until 2AM getting the coals burned down just right twice (1 in the bottom of the pit, then covered that one with 6" of dirt, then put the seasoned briskets in foil, then in 2 wet paper feed sacks, then into a burlap sack with a wire tied to it about 8' long and cover that with 6" of dirt. Then built another fire on top of that. When those coals were just right we covered those up and went home until Church time). The most fun about doing one of those is the story telling around the fire. There were a lot of cowboys cooking on their big barbecue pits, so they were all real interested in this hole in the ground cooking.

As a result of all that fun I over ate and am paying for it today!

I thought we could use this topic to share with each other about our day. Did you have a good day or a day you just struggled? Do you need extra help or encouragement? Need a new recipe or want to share a good one you have tried.

I would really like to get to know each of you better.

Have a great day.

Charlie
