great articles, thanks! I need some sharpness to my mind. I've always joked that my kids have over the years caused me to intellectually regress, at times of scatterbrainedness and unable to remember stuff, I wonder if I'm really not joking :)

Hi Renee',

Great question! I don't know for sure but, I guess if you water jog for five minutes it may count for 10 walking minutes. I would think each step in water would be harder because you are lifting your leg against pressure. That would be a good question for SP Tracker. I will see what I can find out.

Smiles,
Charlie

well, it's a love/hate thing. I really have to push myself too... let me use yesterday as an example...

couldn't swim in the morning so decided I'd get on my treadmill. I allowed everything else to take presidence, logging and posting in sparkpeople, eating breakfast, wiping down the kitchen counters, getting ready for work, getting kids up, ... you name it, and so I "ran out of time" to get on my treadmill in the morning. I finally got home around 7:45 that evening, but still sparkpeople, eating, kids, a little cleaning, etc... came first. I went ahead and posted 10 minutes on the treadmill on SP before I did it cause I knew that would give me a little boost, and it did. I had already tucked in all my kids and climbed into bed myself when I told hubby... I gotta get in 10 minutes on the treadmill, he was ok with that, he was checking his email, so off I went, got dressed again and slipped on my shoes. Well, once I got started, I went ahead and walked a full mile, which was 20 minutes :) So, while I put off my 10 minutes all day long, I ended up getting in 20 after all. ... typical for me when I actually finally force myself to get on it.

Now, if I could walk outdoors, that would be better, but there are dogs that I don't like to deal with.

I really have been enjoying the swimming each morning that I can. I know that won't last much longer and we'll have to winter the pool. Then it will be treadmill every day.

I got a question, can I count my swimming as my 10 minutes "walking" in the team goal tracker?

Whew, sorry I got so chatty! :P

Well, how do ya?

I personally have to push myself to start but after I start it's not to bad. In fact some time I want to keep going.

Smiles,
Charlie
