I'm not really sure what is happening here. All I threw out for consideration was whether the challenge thread was the place for lots of chatting versus a chat thread. So I started a 2018 chat thread in the general discussion sub. I think we're all here to support each other and I'm sorry if in any way this is being misinterpreted. I thought it would start getting difficult for us to see our challenge updates if we have to scroll down multiple chat postings to get to the challenge postings.

I'm shocked this is being interpreted as not being encouraging to each other when my only intention was to keep the challenge thread more cleanly on the challenge, and chatting on the general discussion thread. My thinking was also that people who come to this group who would not necessarily join the challenge - or think to join a challenge - would not see any chatting activity in the general discussion area, which is where chats/discussions usually happen - and would think there wasn't any activity here.

Again, my apologies if I in any way came off as discouraging any other members. I thought my original post was pretty clear in my thinking of a challenge thread versus a chat thread. As well as the fact that I am very interested in interacting with other members and think that our interaction with each other is one of the things I love about SP.

Please don't drop out because you think we are not encouraging each other here. We are all here for positive changes and to support each other. And if people think this particular thread is the best place for chatting then let's chat here. It was only a suggestion to move chatting to a different thread - let's just keep being cheerleaders for each other in whichever thread or format works.

I agree Spiegy about too much chatting here. I thought that is what everyone wanted though. I would prefer to just post my weight every Tuesday.

I forgot weigh in today again. I'll try to remember tomorrow. I guess I'm lucky in some ways. My daughter cooks all the meals, which means they're not only healthy they're also gluten free. She has celiacs so she is on a special no gluten diet, which means so am I. I do get some treats that aren't gluten free, but she tends to make them healthy type. I've also been watching how many of those treats I eat since I know to many aren't good because of the sugar content and my weight. Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and will have a great new year.

Is there a way to make this a sticky topic so the new challenge is at the top of the challenges?

Also - I log in every day, so if anyone wants to chat I'm usually logged in once or twice a day. But question - is the challenge the best place to have chats or should be we doing it in the daily chat thread? If there is too much chatting in the challenge will it make it too difficult for people to see the challenge updates?

I also have some holiday goodies in the house. My husband was given a big box of AMAZING chocolate truffles and we have been steadily eating a few of them every night. I realized last night that I just need to stop it because even if I'm counting the calories it just makes me crave sweets every night, and I don't want to. These are really good truffles so I'm trying to figure out if I should freeze them and get them out of my sight/mind, or if that will ruin them.

Hello. Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year 2018.

I am ready to start this new challenge. First thing I will do on New Years Day is clear out my cabinets of all "holiday" foods! All the goodies left over from Christmas and New Years that I don't want or need. No the children or grand children won't miss them, but they will tempt ME on my next challenge if I keep them. I have a few unopened food gift sets (foods/desserts) that were given to me so I will pass them on to my neighbors. Best of luck to all of you.

Okay, ready to start the new challenge! I'm excited because February 20 will be the one year anniversary for when I started my program, and I really want to be able to say that I lost at least 60 pounds in one year. It's a mental thing.
