Thanks, I'm trying for 3 times a week. I didn't succeed the first week but did last week. Today was my weigh in day and I had lost 2 pounds. It's hard to believe the little exercises I did and my poor record at drinking the water still gave me a positive result. I know it won't always be like this so I'll enjoy it this week. emoticon

Congrats on joining a gym I totally know how you feel about drinking water. I drink a glass with my pills in the morning and another after my exercises then always have a glass near me whether I'm doing Sudoku, watching a movie or cooking.

I'm sure with the gym you will lose and at the same time get physically fit emoticon

Hi, I've been a member of Sparkpeople for years but was MIA for most of them. (I know, shame on me) emoticon . I need to recommit as I do need to lose and get fit in the process. I like the idea of the binder to track my progress and my commitments as I'm a visual person too. I joined a gym last week to get more physically fit and overcome my laziness. I only went twice last week and will be going again today. I know I can do this; it's just a matter of committing myself to it. Another biggy for me will be to start drinking water. I can easily drink 7 coffees in a day but a full glass of water is a chore. So those will be my starting points: exercise and drink water!

I lost a pound and happy about that but really thought I'd lost more that that with all the exercise I did this week

I doing fairly well tis week: .walking longer distance in shorter period of time, the eating and water drinking..;;; going to bed by 11 I did more frequently this week. happy with the results. Stationary bike did 22 km today

KKLIER3 l love this site too. Whatever works for you is great; it's personal or myself like my scribbler because I can see everything at a glance I still use this site every day - doing the walking challenge this month and also participate on other topics this msg board has. Recipes for low calories too

CAPECODLIGHT Thank you for posting I like writing /recording because I'm a visual person. Last night I looked at my recording from January 1rst ill now and was amazed at my progress; I also saw some places for improvement lol

I write down everything I eat and drink. I plan at least 2 meals every day before I eat breakfast and try to plan all 3 unless we are going out. Put them on my nutrition page. Listen to my body and work out on my total gym M W F or sometimes give myself 2 days if I am too sore, but drink a protein smoothie as soon as I finish the workout and another first thing the next morning, as I find that helps prevent soreness. Am working out to build muscle because muscle burns more calories than fat and keeps my blood sugar in check. .I walk 2 miles on the treadmill on the same day as my workout and work in at least one day a week that I walk 4 miles (not on a workout day).

I am trying to track with sparkpeople for food and water.
Walking everyday...today 15940 steps. My goal is 10000-12000 steps a day.
This is to start. Making 10% goals.

I am in maintenance, so my plan is to

follow my nutrition plan - measure, weigh, track

follow my exercise plan - do my CV and ST, walk or hike, use treadmill when inclement

To achieve a goal we need a plan. To save money , pay of debts , we set goals and plan or it Losing weight is the same thing. So what are we planning to do to achieve our goal?

I started doing this last December. I used loose leaves and design my plan to lose weight. I started by writing down what I was ready to do for a 2 week period to lose weight as my header. Made a grill for a two week period to record if I had done so and how long and how many km for my exercise, then at the bottom a place for comments.

I have as page 1 my initial weight on the 1rst day and I weigh-in every week, on Sunday, which I record. I can see my progress at a glance.

This has worked for me so I thought it may work for someone else..... GOOD LUCK on this journey. TOGETHER we CAN do it!

- drink 3 glasses of water per day
- stationary bike 3 times a week
- not eat after 7;00 P.M.
- go to bed by 11:00 p.m.
