Wow I have been AWOL lately. I blame the start page that doesn't have all my teams showing up at once and some I've just been forgetting entirely (SORRY!) Also DH and I were away last week for 2-3 days to visit our moms - no internet access so I pretty much just sign in on my phone to record my exercise.
Like many of you I've been up and down - that last low didn't last long and lasting losses have been few. DH having a birthday the end of last week (dinner out and birthday cake) has put me up a bit extra at the moment AND I totally forgot to record my weight at the end of the week. Good thing our son took a good chunk of cake home and most of the hot cross buns I'd made. Overall I'm down over the course of the challenge but I did start a bit high as I'd allowed myself to "indulge" a bit over Christmas and gain a bit of weight. I'll see where I am at the end of the week as I've been recording my scale results later in the week.

Noreen - I hope you enjoyed (are still enjoying?) London. It sounds like fun.

Marilyn - Great that you were able to maintain while visiting your family. I'm sure that taking some healthy options certainly helped you.

Della - You ARE headed in the right direction.

Kathleen - It sounds like you'll have your work cut out for you competing with you "ex"! Good luck!

Sherry - keeping ourselves moving is one key to success but it is certainly more difficult for those in the work place who have jobs that require a great deal of sitting.

Spring seems to have sprung around here - almost ALL the snow is gone and sidewalks are clear and dry emoticon although I have to admit that I burned more calories walking to knitting group when I had to trek through the snow! I'm happy to see the end of it and I'll hopefully get outdoors for more walking and maybe even a bit of jogging! emoticon I've have been doing some on the treadmill but I don't have all the apparel necessary for outdoor running so I'll have to see if that happens.

emoticon everyone. It is a journey and it sure doesn't happen overnight as Noreen mentioned! emoticon

Good Morning team! I see it's the last day for this challenge so I will see you for the next one! I have my weigh in set for Saturdays to coincide with my 5% challenge.
I did good at TOPS and Lost 3.5 pounds! emoticon
I have a bet with my ex-fiancée to loose 60 pounds! It will be first to finish and then 1 month to catch up if I have not reached it yet. i think its the logic that men lose faster then women--But we will see! It will be an amazon gift card for the first to complete! No given time line so I had better hustle! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
I have not met my 5% since I began that challenge so there is still around 60 pounds to lose! the competition should help! emoticon to emoticon
I am down a little this morning at 179.6 ~~now to stay focused--track everything I put in my mouth--and keep moving! emoticon

Good Morning Team!

Noreen~~~London--how very cool!

Slept in a little this morning and then messages came over the phone and couldn't fall back to sleep emoticon But that's okay as I do have to dig up some grass for my coneflowers. I am making a circle in my front yard with shasta daisies coneflowers and hibiscus!

I have been Miss YOYO so far this year and it has to stop! Today I start a new plan and I have my ex~fiancee joining me! It will be cool as he will call me and check up on me too! I believe there is a wager in it also which means some new clothes--lol!

Better eat breakfast and get this body moving!
Everyone have a great week! emoticon Kathleen L

Scale decided not to move this week. I kind of expected that, at least I didn't gain. I've been doing a lot of paper work trying to get things ready to write my grant to get money (hopefully) for the food bank I run (with help).

Hopefully I'll do better next week. My room mate is having back surgery so I know I'll be spending a lot of time at the hospital and I'll be working in the food bank since he won't be able to do that for awhile. I just have to see how everything works out. I'm hoping this surgery helps him since he's been having a lot of pain lately.

Saturday morning weigh in. Good news! I survived my trip away from home and didn't stray from my plan too much. The weather was very cold and we had a snow storm, so outside walking was a problem, but I had access to a treadmill so I could walk my 30 minutes a day. I didn't track food and exercise on Spark every day, so was a little disappointed I lost my streak records and now they are reset. But, that's okay, it's Spring and time to start a new 5% challenge soon and time for a new restart of the streak stats. When packing for my trip, I decided to take salad fixings and healthy choice food and snacks along with me. I know that really helped me stay on track when the family meals they liked were not the best choices for me. All in all, I had a great trip and enjoyed the family time and continue my downward trend and losing about pound a week. Best wishes to all!

A little late posting weights. Having internet connection issues. Well I seem to be stuck here but I will continue to try to get that scale to move.

It's amazing how much your weight can fluctuate from day to day and week to week! I am so glad that I am back down today. It was pretty depressing to see that number be over 200 again. But I've been watching what I eat - and I definitely do not go under 1200 calories a day. My calorie range is between 1250 and 1500 and I'm usually at the high end of that. I've been getting at least 6 hours of sleep each night and drinking at least 8 glasses of water each day. Everything works together to drop those pounds. And when I don't eat after 6 or 7 at night I do much better also.
I probably won't make it back to my starting weight before the end of this challenge but at least I'm going back down instead of going up some more!
I've also been doing more quilting lately so that does help keep me from snacking, also.

Have a great week everybody!

Joann

Hi everyone! Sorry I have not been checking in. I'm in London with my Mom, sisters and niece. Touring around, getting a lot of steps in. I'll get the next challenge set up to start so everyone has it! I know some of you have been doing great! Others need to regroup for the new challenge. We can do this! Sorry I have not had time to read everyone's posts, but a few comments:

1. Portion control - Joann - you mentioned getting a food scale. Not a bad idea. I sometimes go back to it because over time, I sometimes start to underestimate what I am eating.

2. Move, Move, Move - if you can. Burn those calories! If you have mobility issues, plenty of other options like chair exercises or water exercises.

3. Hydrate! I drink a ton of water every day - at least 64 ounces. As long as you do not have a medical condition that prohibits it.

4. Don't go too low on calories - do not go below 1200 calories a day

5. Don't overestimate the calories you are burning with exercise!

We did not put this weight on overnight, though sometimes it seems like it, so don't expect to lose it overnight. Slow and steady wins this race!

Just a few things off the top of my head!

"There is still hope" - that's how I'm feeling this morning! One pound down from my start weight isn't what I might have hoped for, but I'll take it! And who knows? I have one more week to do well and hopefully end up with another pound down.

Still have a bit of lingering cough, runny nose and chest congestion, but I can't blame too much sitting on that anymore. Just getting up and moving helps clear the congestion for a while, so I need to do that more often.
I'll be away from home and the scale for a few days later this week, meaning this week's weigh-in won't be on the right day. With the way the scale has looked at me the past couple of days, that's probably a good thing! :)

It is time to regroup and rethink what I've been doing. Obviously what I have been doing is not working for me! The one thing that has been going better for me is getting more sleep. My fitbit is set with a goal of at least 6 hours of sleep per night. I made that goal 4 days last week and was only off by less than 10 minutes on 2 other days so there was really only 1 day last week that I did not get the 6 hours of sleep. I figured when I was consistent with 6 hours, then I can up it to 7 hours of sleep per night.
I had been doing relative well with 8 glasses of water per day but somewhere along the line I got off track with that also. Not really sure what happened with that so today will be the first day to start that over again.
Food wise I have not been eating junk so I''m probably just eating too much. I should probably invest in a good food scale and only eat what is weighed and measured instead of guessing. So short of a miracle, I won't even be back to my starting weight for this challenge by the end of the challenge. I will look forward to doing better on the next one!

Have a great week everyone!

Joann

I am so excited that I am finally going back down. 3 more pounds and I will be back to my lowest weight in 10 years and the way I am going I hope to hit one-der land by summer! I wanted to hit 180 by July but not sure I can do that but as long as it keeps going down I'll be happy. Here's to a new week

Kathleen - Did you have to give those pounds right back again?!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon About 1.6 of them reappeared this morning!! emoticon Of course i should know better than to get too excited about any significant drop as most often at least some of it returns within a day or so. It'll be a while before any yard work is done around here - still have to get rid of the snow but at least it's disappearing. As long as it stays away once it's gone (a little like the pounds!) emoticon

Enjoy the weekend!

Morning Team!

Well Sue, I think I have those pounds that you lost! Scale was really up this morning!

BP still a problem--need to be for serious before I am in real trouble again!

ON a lighter note I receive a shipment of perennial cone flowers and going to be doing some yard work for the weekend! That should help the scale a bit! busy is good!

I hope everyone is well! Hugs Kathleen

Sherry - I'm with you on the start page. The new community feature is WAY too large and "in your face" for my liking. And it's not a feature that I'm likely to use. The bonus points I did use pretty much every day! I also miss my teams all being visible (or most of them) at a glance. They were easier to access on the old start page. I haven't seen one positive comment either from the comments on the article that explained the change (at least the ones I read) or anyone on the teams that I regularly visit. I'm hoping they will make adjustments.

MOMTOLJ - Noreen (team leader) will put up a new thread when this challenge is over. This challenge should flow directly into the next one for spring to summer. These challenges usually last about 12-13 weeks (I haven't actually counted the weeks) I hope this helps.

I thought I'd post my weight from today as I often forget on Saturday when I'm busy with other things. And I REALLY liked the numbers that showed up on my scale this morning! emoticon I'd had a small gain yesterday and then this 2.2 lb loss appeared today! emoticon Sometimes a larger loss doesn't all stay away but if most of it does I'll be satisfied. I've actually backed off my exercise a bit this week since the 5% challenge ended and the new one won't start for a while and I seem to be getting more sleep than normal for me. That may be having an effect or maybe my body is just moving on a bit faster for a change. My initial goal continues to get closer - now just under 12 pounds away. emoticon

WOW Impressive. Love your plan too and mine looks something like yours. It's simple and doable Congrats on your weight loss. I'll be a happy gal to see 199.9 too Awesome work and it gives a validation that I'm doing it right and can too reach my goal emoticon

Thanks to all for your posts.

how does this work? at the end of the month we have a new challenge? How long a period was this challenge for? From what I gather, 5% of our weight in how long to lose it?

Wow, this challenge is almost done! Hard to believe it, but the calendar doesn't lie. I wasn't around a scale last weekend, so not sure how I did. I walked much more than usual, but also ate differently.
On another note, I really do miss the old start page. I looked forward to the team wheel spins so much that I waited until the end of my SP site visit each day to do that. I probably won't be on SP nearly as much now, but I will stay with this group. It fits me!

I can hardly believe it's been 2 weeks since I've checked in here! Even when I don't post, I generally peek in now and again to see how everyone's doing... I had my 2 weeks in Arizona and I'm back in WA now - as of yesterday.

One more idea for a high protein snack: I buy frozen shelled edamame and will sometimes pour myself and nibble about 1/4 cup - thawed, but cold & raw - no salt or anything. I've sometimes thought of adding a bit of garlic or other seasoning but haven't bothered to as yet. I like having snacks of small items to pop in my mouth - edamame and blueberries have to be better for me than M&M's!

Chris - It can be a struggle to keep the scales going in the right direction but don't give up!

Della emoticon on meeting those step goals! The water exercises really are a good workout - glad that you're able to get back at them. Three times a week should be enough - those muscles need some rest and repair time in between those workouts.

Lin - The fast food (or pretty much ANY restaurant food) will kill you every time! emoticon The good thing is those gains are usually temporary as it's generally water retention from the higher sodium content.

My scales jumped up there for a couple of days but are back down to slightly less than the weight I posted on the weekend (I'm not posting my numbers until later in the week). I'm not sure why they went up although I do have an idea but don't know if it's accurate (wasn't from eating out or consuming junk) - I'm just glad they headed back down so I'm getting a bit closer to my goal weight (less than 15 pounds to go) emoticon

Have a great day everyone!

Started back to my deep water exercise class tonight. Boy she really worked us. Heart rate up and many muscles used that I have not been working on the last 4 months. I really enjoyed it. I will go again tomorrow then that is it for this week as I had a meeting set up Thur. before I made up my mind to go back. Next week it will be M/T/TH. Really looking forward to it.
I want to work off some inches so I can see the NSV in the mirror.
This week MY goal of walking is up to 9.000 a day. I made the 8,500 steps last week 5 days and my two days off I got over 5,000 both days. Right now I have 1,500 more to walk before bed so better get off of here and get those feet moving.
Here's to a new week and new goals.

emoticon My weight decided to start going back down. Now I just need to keep it going in that direction. Once it gets warm enough I'll be taking my daily walks again. I'm thinking about doing the line dance several days a week instead of just the day I'm teaching. It's very good exercise and get's everything going.

Noreen - I'd wanted to mention that you must be training for another race. Our weather conditions around here have become challenging the past few days with very chilly temps for March (-12 C or about 10 F here mid morning!) and more snow - fortunately not too much of the white stuff. If the conditions in your area are much the same it does make it difficult to get out. I hope that you manage to get your run in. Personally I'm being a bit lazy today, totally skipping exercise (first time I've done that on a Saturday that I've been home since January last year) But the 5% challenge is over and I just felt like I needed a break although my plan was to do some knitting. Not much has been done to far so I should get at it!
Glad that you had a wonderful time with your great nieces and nephews! I'm sure they enjoy the unique experience too. Sounds like a lot of fun. emoticon

Well, happy Saturday! We had a fantastic time with our great-nieces and nephews - age 7-15 last night. Started out bowling a couple of games and then off to our private cooking class. Lots of chopping, mixing and stirring! Everyone was involved. We made a salad with homemade dressing. Ravioli stuffed with Ricotta cheese with an Alfredo sauce and chicken. Fettuccine with a Marinara sauce. Chocolate lava cake for dessert. Chef Kelli was very impressed with how well behaved and how on-task the kids were. After cooking, we got to eat what we made and it was delicious! Then off to a local hotel so the kids could swim for about an hour and then off our rooms and they watched a movie. Breakfast this morning and then off to their activities. What a fun time! A big milestone - the youngest, Brooke (7) was afraid to sleep over, her Dad was going to pick her up at 10 PM. She changed her mind and stayed with us!

Kathleen L - time to shake off that disappointment and regroup! You know what doesn't work for you, so focus on what does. I know you will get this figured out and continue to lose! You will do great!

MomtoLJ - a lb is progress, you may lose more next week. Who knows? Just keep it up! You are doing great!

Marilyn - Onederland! Woo hoo! Well done. Good luck keeping on track while you are away. It can be a challenge, but it can be done.

Della - you are right, those ounces do add up to lbs. Keep drinking that water and flush out that sodium. You are on the right track!

Sue - great job this week! You don't have as much to lose now, so the losses may be slower to come.

I ended up working on my day off yesterday and did not get my 8 mile run in yesterday and it is not looking good for today either. Very disappointed - I'll have to figure something out.

MOMTOLJ - You have found the right way to have success. If you're increasing your exercise significantly (i.e. burning a lot more calories than normal) you may need to add to you calorie intake a bit too. If you aren't eating enough, your body will think it's being starved. And then again - sometimes the pounds just don't come off as quickly as we'd like them to disappear.

Kathleen - You just need to find what works and stick to it. There are tons of things on here for inspiration and I've found the nutrition tracker and exercise tracker to be great tools for me. emoticon emoticon

Marilyn - emoticon emoticon Reaching onderland feels SO good, doesn't it. You've made great progress and are making the right choices to lose weight and be healthier. That's what I did and I lost 50 pounds last year. The trick is to be consistent. I know that being away and out of your controlled environment can be a challenge but just make the best choices that you can based on what's available to you, and keep exercising as much as you can. During our trip to my BIL's and SIL's home last summer, I made sure that I got out for daily walks and tried to do a bit of ST exercise in their pool. I did gain a bit of weight (although some of that was probably from restaurant meals on the way home - much higher sodium of course) but it disappeared quickly when I got back to my normal routine.
Good luck while you're away.

Posting my lowest weight for this week since I do weigh daily and tend to bounce around a bit. My losses have slowed but as long as I keep going in the right direction in general, I'm okay with that. I lost just under 6 pounds over the course of the 8 week 5% challenge (01/14 - today). I'll see how I finish this challenge.

Did not lose a pound this week. Yesterday I was at 229.8 but to much sodium as my feet are swollen so I am drinking extra water and watching the sodium today. Hope to have it back off by tomorrow. BUT I did still lose so that is a plus to me. Those ounces add up to pounds.

Saturday weigh in. Finally got below 200 lbs...this is the first time I've been below 200 in 20 years! During the 5% challenge I lost 15 lbs and since Oct 2016 I'm down 43 lbs. My only diet plan has been eat less and exercise more. I've cut down on portion sizes, drink 8-10 glasses of water a day, cut out all junk food and carry out food from my diet, and try to exercise at least 30 minutes or more every day. And. of course logging food and exercise daily to Spark which helps keep me accountable. These things have worked for me and helped me keep my focus. But I'm getting ready to have a few weeks away from home and not sure what happens when my environment changes. Best wishes to all!

I will be 69 in a few weeks. I was very sedentary and weighed 245 before Christmas! I decided right then was a good time to start before I reached 248 pounds again. By New Year's day I was down to 28 but now the weight lost is more challenging. I started slowly to exercise. Began with stationary bike to have more strength in my legs. I then walked to the end of the street ( I live in the center) and had difficulty getting back to the house! Now I can walk a good distance-3 blocks- in 26 minutes. I'm losing a pound a week no matter how much exercise I do! and e inches are not showing yet,,,, but lost 15 pounds since before Christmas so I'm happy with that.

Good Morning Everyone! Happy Saturday!

It has been an interesting and non-productive 2017 so far! I am not going to quit--just going back to basics again--no more Nutrisystem and no more restrictive dieting( how I hate that word too)!
I am going to stick with TOPS as long as I can--so far it has not been the learning tool I had hoped it would!
Going back to logging my food here instead of writing it down for TOPS! Much better to get a calorie etc... idea as i go through the day!

emoticon Totally gained instead of loosing on my 5% challenge--my own fault! real live just sucks the focus right out of me!

WELL that's enough of my sadness and emoticon ! Obviously depressed and disappointed in myself! Just not sure how to change the yo-yo effect I always do! emoticon

I hope you all finished better than I did---BIG emoticon Kathleen L

TGIF everyone! Well, tonight is our outing with our great-nieces and nephews. We are going bowling, having a private cooking class and then staying overnight at a local hotel so they can go swimming, watch a movie and we can have breakfast together in the morning. This was our Christmas present to them - we are trying to stay away from "stuff" and spend time together. It's been a very busy work week with trying to put together packages of data for the investors along with the regular stuff. Cut into my running, but eating was on track and tried to fit in cross-training where I could.

Sue - nice to get that bonus workout with your conducting!

Della - nice job with your weight loss and managing the food celebrations and left overs!

TTenacity - empowered is a great place to be!

Kathleen - I know you will get back on track!

Have a great Friday everyone! I need to fit an 8-mile run in today or tomorrow afternoon!

Noreen--- thanks I had not seen those protein ideas.

Had my center weigh in today and I lost 1.9 pounds in a week!! I have made my first 10 pound goal!!!! Now if I can just keep that up for Sat. weigh in on here. I was so Happy as my daughter's birthday was Monday and She wanted pizza. I ate just one piece and no cake but I did have some ice cream. Then on top of that it was classified appreciation week at work and the teachers fixed lunches for us all week. I really tried to be good but was afraid that I might have gone over. But I am very pleased with myself as I was able to enjoy and not go over board. Oh yes after the birthday party I made sure all left overs went to someone else's home! I was happy so I did not have to fight myself.
Looking forward to finishing this week strong. I hope you are all having a good week also.

Sherry and JMRose - Every little bit helps and puts you a little bit closer to your goal.

Noreen - You know what they say - a little bit is better than nothing! emoticon

I have my morning workout in but I'll be out singing and conducting our small choir at the nursing home this afternoon and I've discovered over the past few months since I took over the conducting that I get in a "bonus" workout during those performance - often burning more than 200 calories! emoticon emoticon

Have a good day everyone! emoticon

Well, after my last call yesterday, my niece on my husband's side called to work out logistics for this weekend's outing with the great-nieces and nephews. So that took a while and running at the gym was not going to happen so I did the elliptical in the basement instead. Still got a good workout in! I did not let the perfect be the enemy of good enough!

Christine - way to go!

Sherry - hope your cold is better and enjoy your vacation!

Joann - glad to see the scale moving for you!

Have a great day everyone! Getting my hair cut and colored tonight and stopping at the gym on the way home for a run.

Down another half pound! Yeah! Every little bit helps! It should have been more but my girlfriend needed to go out for dinner Saturday night while I was quilting a quilt for her on my longarm so we took a break - but not until 8 pm! Late night eating is not for me! But overall the scale is still down so I'm happy with that.

Have a great week everyone!

I have been down and up, as usual, although the cold I'm currently suffering through seems to do a number on my appetite. I have a short vacation the rest of this week and don't know how likely it will be for a scale to be nearby.
Having said that, I do think of this team every day and hope all are doing well. I know I'll be getting in much more walking than I have recently and that's always a good thing.

TTenacity - looks like your note to yourself helped and you are trending down! Well done!

Marilyn - thanks for your kind words! I think we all cheer each other on here. So glad you are finally meeting your goals, it's never too late! Way to go!

ChubbyNoMore - glad you are figuring out what works for you! Life is about balance.

I'm definitely planning on getting to the gym after my last call this evening! Hope everyone has a great day!

Marilyn - Thanks for the compliment. We're all on the same journey and many have helped me along so I'm happy to be an help to others or "pay it forward" as the expression goes. I remember being so THRILLED when I reached onderland last year! I pretty much stayed there too after reaching that goal. Good luck to you!

Chubbynomore - That's the secret - glad that you've found it! Of course eating more has to be within reason - the same goes for exercising less. But there is a balance that will work for everyone - although you'll have to adjust it from time to time as you continue to lose pounds and become fitter.

Della, you may have missed this, but:

SeekingBalance suggested: hummus makes a good low cal protein to snack on with fresh veggies.

Sue suggested: - Roasted chick peas make a good higher protein snack too. I've made them myself using about a tablespoon of olive oil for a tin chick peas - 19 ounce. You'll want to drain the chick peas well and maybe dry them a bit first before coating with the oil and one of the following seasoning combinations like 1 tsp garlic powder, 2 tsp dried oregano and 2 tsp Parmesan cheese. If you prefer a bit of sweet you could use 2 tsp sugar and 2 tsp cinnamon. Spicy you could add 2 tsp of chili powder, 1 tsp cumin, 1/4 tsp black pepper and a bit of cayenne pepper (if you want to go hotter) Once your chickpeas are coated with the oil and choice of seasonings spread them out in a single layer on a cookie sheet (ungreased) and bake at 350 for about 50 minutes or until crunchy. You'll want to check them 2-3 times during baking and give them a little stir. The calorie info that I have here is 79 calories for a quarter cup serving and 3 grams of protein. That probably is going to vary depending on the seasonings used so best to use to recipe calculator to be accurate. Makes 2 cups and should be stored in an airtight container

Noreen-- thanks for asking. I do feel much better. I really used the vicks and slept and worked it out.
Looking for High protein--low carb snacks and meals. Any ideas out there? I would really like help I am trying to use a variety and not get burned out on eating the same thing all the time.

Happy Monday everyone, another weekend that flew by! I did get 2 runs in during the week - 4 miles each. Saturday morning my group was running 7 miles. But the temperature was under 30, the roads looked slippery and I opted to wait until later in the day. I slept in, did some work on a project for my job and ran in the afternoon and got my miles done in a pretty good pace for me. It was chilly and a little windy, but beats running on the track. Next week is 8 miles!

Della - great job hitting your step goal. Hope you are feeling better!

Joann - isn't it nice to see the scale going down. I hope you find a way to get some exercise in, it is tough when you are tired after the work day!

Sue - congrats on the new low! Sure hope it sticks!

Chris - I'm looking forward to the weather warming up too!

Marilyn - almost in Onederland! Good for you. Sorry to hear your little dog was sick and about the vet bill, hope she is doing better now! Good for you for not turning to food! Glad SP is helping you.

MomtoLJ - great job this week!

Have a great day everyone! Have to take my daughter to the airport, but hoping to stop at the gym on the way home this evening!

Saturday weigh-in...Down 1 more pound. I hope to see the scale read in the 100s soon and not the 200s. But, it's been an upsetting last night and today for me. My little dog got really sick again. She's better this evening, but after a $300+ vet bill and all the emotions, I'm just exhausted. In the past I turned to food to help me through emotional crisis. But, it's been different this time. I stayed with my plan and I'm doing okay food wise. I love the accountability factor of logging into Spark everyday, logging nutrition and exercise, and just getting inspired by all the motivating Sparkers like you! You all have made such a difference in my journey to better health! Thank you so much...more than words can say...

Really went up this week. Definitely going the wrong direction. Now that I'm feeling better I'm hoping the weather warms up enough so I can go walking again. Been to cold and where I walk to muddy.

Happy to say that I'm down to a new low! The last "new low" (174.8) occurred about 3 weeks ago and didn't ever show up on the scales on a weigh in day! emoticon I'm hoping that this one holds (or at least comes back as I yo-yo all week) again for the final weigh in of the 5% challenge next week. It seems lately I'm lucky to lose 2 pounds a month - never mind 1 lb a week but that's okay - the final goal is in sight and gradually gets closer. I guess I'm practising for maintenance along the way! emoticon

Chubbynomore - Noreen is right. I find when I exercise more that I'm usually hungrier but if you are burning that many calories in you workout you should be eating more - not less. Try adding some quality snacks like nuts that are higher in calories and have good fats to increase your calorie intake. Good luck!
