I originally lost 50 lbs and gained some of it back because of a health crisis. It took me a long time to recuperate (4-6 months at least) and I felt sorry for myself and overate and ate poorly. I had almost reached my goal of 140 lbs by one point before this happened. I thought joining this group would help me. But it isn't helping me to join challenges. I just see my failure. I have a scale, and I know I need to exercise more than I am. I am not going to leave this team, but I am not doing any more challenges, I am going to be private and concentrate on changes that need to be made without sharing so much. My weight increases steadily with each challenge I do! I am frustrated by major changes in my life that have challenged how I can do what is best for me and I need time by myself to adjust my needs to my circumstances--successfully.

My digestion remains a little sluggish, and I think my body has beaten back about 99% of the mono and longer needs as much fuel at my still-reduced activity level. I really am prioritizing rest! One neck gland remains very slightly tender, but the doc told me it could take 4-8 weeks to resolve completely.

The last 2 weeks my daily step goals were 4k and 5k respectively, and I averaged 7k both weeks. This week's goal is 6k, and I'll likely average 7k again. The actual average might even be 8k, though I truly haven't been trying for the higher numbers. Instead I've been using Fitbit to tell me that it's ok to rest! This week coming up I'll strive for 7k steps/day, which isn't hard when I'm going to the office to work.

Well this challenge is certainly not ending the way I had hoped or expected! One serving of pasta seems to have blown it. I am hoping that things have kind of leveled off at this point and I hope to see the continued downward trend that I was experiencing previously. This has been a different week for sure - we had new flooring installed on Monday and that meant my treadmill was not available. We are having flooding rains here and it is not always possible to get outside and run, so I ended up with only six miles of running this week - we were to do eight miles today and had to cancel due to the potential for severe weather (flooding and lightning). Maybe next week I will get back on track with my schedule. Also, lab work came back for RA, and currently my inflammation marker is moderate, so that is very very good!!!!

Maintenance Lessons Learned:
-go on with the healthy lifestyle learned in weight loss phase
-just add healthy foods gradually to stop losing
-work out every day - 30-60 minutes is enough to maintain weight and good mood
-do not try to balance overeating by extreme workouts, it is not going to work
-avoid overeating, instead of satisfaction you get stronger cravings

I forget that I have to place my home scale in exactly the same spot on my kitchen floor. I can't use my scale on carpet and the only two floors in my apartment that are not carpeted are the bathroom and the kitchen floor. And they are both slanted! I wasn't careful about where I put the scale this morning and I knew my weight had not shot up 5 lbs in a week! I made sure I knew exactly where the "tiles" where in the lino so it's in the most level place all the time. The doctor's scale is much better BUT I haven't had any need to see the doctor for months.
