Had a 2.5 lb jump yesterday morning, confirming my suspicions that I got gluten somewhere in my diet on Sunday. I knew I felt poorly, but was not certain where the problem came from. I tried a couple of new products, only noticing later one was processed on machines shared with wheat products. Sigh.

Am seeing a very tight weight fluctuation (for me) since September 11 and have 22 consecuttive days free of poor fluid function. Scale weights have ranged from 118.8 - 120.6. The trend weight has been between 119.6 - 119.8. The trend weight appears to be poised to head higher. I am eating more, walking more and inflammation is settling down.

This week's weights ranged from 119.2 lbs - 120.0 lbs. As of yesterday, I have logged 21 successive days free of poor fluid function. Inflammatory situation appears to be, truly, settling down. Again, I was not successful working the walking plan as written. Will continue to take a slow approach. Am repeating week 2 of the plan.

Given the Hacker's Diet mean trend weight for the quarter is 121.5 lbs and that mean trend holds over the period June 1, 2015 - present, I will stay with a center weight of 121.5 lbs for the Square Dance Day Maintenance Challenge.

No weigh-in for me. I'll have to see if there's scale on the ship to get a baseline trip weight. I'll log in for the next challenge if possible while we're away, but it may not be.
Making good food choices so far.

Maintenance is as much work as losing, but it has the advantage of allowing us to do it in cuter clothes - BESSHAILE

Back into the high end of the range. Daily weights ranged from 165.2 to 167, bleah. No running for a week, but the lower calorie range at least kep me from putting on even more weight. Overate yesterday, but not a true binge; I volunteered at a race, and the post-race food resulted in a day of eating like I was running, which is over goal for a period when I'm not running.

I am using the Hacker's Diet Online ("How to lose weight and hair through stress and poor nutrition," and not to be confused with the myriad other Hacker's Diet web sites) web site to calculate my trending weight. I will use the reading for the Friday of each week as the official weight for this challenge, regardless the day I post or how many times I weigh myself during the week.

I'm going in with a center weight of 131.0 and will probably start out of range. Perhaps I should start with a higher center weight but this is close to my happy weight and close to what my doctor recommends for me so I am going to stick with it for now.

Since the vacation week the trend seems to have stabilized and I generally am not seeing the wild upward swings with my actual weight. I have been careful not to use anything with sucralose as that seems to be a problem for me, and though I am not being perfect with the gluten, I am seeing less puffiness and water retention because I am being more attentive to that area. Exercise continues to be less than it ought to be for marathon training, but this could also be another indicator - not sure my body handles the extra training so well due to the inflammation. The biggest thing is that I haven't been getting up at 3:30 to run - I've been running at lunch time this week despite temperatures in the 90s. I am trying to figure out how to shift my workouts to later in the day as getting up so early also could be a factor in the increase in weight. I am ending the challenge with a trend that is exactly one pound over the top of my range.

Maintenance Lessons Learned:
-go on with the healthy lifestyle learned in weight loss phase
-just add healthy foods gradually to stop losing
-work out every day - 30-60 minutes is enough to maintain weight and good mood
-do not try to balance overeating by extreme workouts, it is not going to work
-avoid overeating, instead of satisfaction you get stronger cravings
