We went to Pizza Hut tonight for MIL's birthday. Instead of loading up on my usual pepperoni, I chose a thin crust veggie lovers. I've really been craving them the last few trips there!

We went to eat at our fave Mexican restaurant. I always get a fried chimichanga, but this time chose an enchilada. Still delish and way less cals.
And I agree on sleeping better. I have a wake-up call or two a night from my kids, but go immediately back to a deep sleep. It's lovely!

Well, I've survived a major craving attack! DH and I had made a habit of eating as we watched TV at night after puting the kids down. Tonight I fought off my craving during our TV time!

After eating better and exercising more, I noticed I slept better (until recently, but that's for another reason). So those who are struggling with sleep, it will come.

Keep up the good work realizing exercise is better then Arby's and positive thoughts do wonders!

Last night I went to bed early, I was so tired, and slept a full night's sleep. I am so proud! That also meant I did not eat out, and that also means I am up early enough to walk this morning before work and make a lunch and take something out of the freezer for dinner, and eat a healthy breakfast. And my mind will be actually working and there and awake while I do it, because I'm not tired. This is so abnormal for me, and so healthy, I am happy about it! It feels so good to wake up before the alarm and not still feel "hung over" from tiredness or feel hung-over from late-night eating. It's also easier to have a positive attitude in the morning / day when you're not tired or HALTed - Hungry, Angry, Lonely, or Tired = HALT. I'm not normally a morning person but I'm awake and positive this morning. I realize I'm doing this post kind of backwards - upon waking instead of before bed - but maybe someone reading this will be inspired to go to bed earlier tonight. Sometimes pushing the re-start button involves the simplest things that we all KNOW to do. We all know we need to get more rest but do we do that? Do we really do that? Or do we remain HALTed? We have the power to choose. Take back the power and choose life. I'm adding this as a goal for this week - early to bed as many nights as I can.

I will go to bed tonight glad I didn't stop at Arby's on my way home. Glad I took that extra 30 minutes to walk on the beach. Glad I didn't nap when I really wanted to. And lastly, glad I had a super dinner so I am not hungry before bed.

I often find it hard at night to think of positive things and instead wind up thinking of work. It's the middle of winter here and while I don't think I have any especially big problems in my life, I am feeling a bit low this week. They do say that some people suffer from depression in the winter because of less sun exposure (vitamin d?).

Right now I think the best thing is that I can come in here and check in with people who have similar goals and issues to my own. It's so good having all of you in here!

Thank you for addressing that question to everyone. I am going to try to ask myself every night now.
I feel best about the fact that I had company tonight and managed to have dinner, dessert and exercise according to my weight loss plan. Often i am derailed by changes in my routine.
Sleep tight everyone- I wish you a happy and healthy Monday.

Hmmm what do I feel good about today? I feel good that I stayed awake and present because I did not sleep well last night. I am thankful for Sparkpeople and my freinds. Goodnight and hugs to everyone for making it through another day!

Everyone has their ups and downs but it seems everyone is learning to deal with it... you realize mistakes and turning to food/alcohol isn't the best choice, but sometimes (SOMETIMES!) it is necessary. If you really struggle, try exercise before turning to food. Tell yourself, just around the block, one video, 10 mins, etc. and do it. Then see how you feel. :) I take Tyler out and walk for a while when I get really stressed, I always feel better. emoticon

Last night was actually a very difficult night but with huge successes at the same time. My nine year old daughter was molested 8 months ago by her uncle so you can imagine the year we have had. Mostly my daughter has been great and the counselling has made a huge difference. BUT last night it all came up again and she was crying and ranting and beating up her pillow with me. It was so hard to watch her pain plus my own pain for her and the loss of my sister. Anyhow the success was that instead of going and eating the entire fridge I took time to think, talk and reflect. I did not let my emotions control my stomach. I am really proud of myself.

My bedtime reflection thoughts have to get posted the next day as I spend all day online at work and have no desire to get back online at night lol. So last night I thought about how I did and I really felt good. I drank alot of water and I ate more fruits and veggies than I have been. I felt really good about that. It's a big change for me as I do love fruits and veggies but really had not been eating them much till sparkpeople. I did feel a bit disappointed in myself about one thing I did. I have a dear friend who is very very ill. They say he can pass anyday now and last night I found out hes in the hospice and will be gone in a few days porb. So what was my solution? To drink. Nice empty calories and man does alcohol have alot of calories. Anyway I do feel that over the past 4 days since i started this I have been eating less and feeling better overall.

Today was a really good day. My very thin (and usually healthy) sister wanted to eat at burger king but i opted for a whole wheat turkey sub from subway instead. For dinner I tried cooking salmon for the first time and it came out pretty well. After dinner I took my puppies for a long walk around my neighborhood. I feel so proud! Here's to more days like this!

Wow Stephanie great motivational tool. Last night I was so happy that for the past three days since I joined I have been exercising and I have been dropping my calorie intake daily so far so good. I think I will set aside some time each night to look over how I've done during the day. thanx for the idea

Right now my goal at night is to come to SP. If I've had a bad day then hopefully I will gain some motivation for the next. If I've had a good day I can share it with others and hopefully motivate them.
