I'm late but would like join. I have been so caught up with work that I have let my exercise routine fall by the wayside! It's stressful, but worse without letting off that steam on the elliptical machine!

I'm in! Been doing things this way for my first month of SP and yes, it works!

Mon: walked 60 min (at about 24 min/mile) ; went over calories - not sure how much because we ate out (not a common event, thankfully)
Tue: back to work today and lots of it - no real cardio but worked hard at scrubbing 30 car mats ; went over calories again - ugh!!!! an unexpected meal out and I thought I chose wisely, but not sure now
Wed: 10 minute walk during recess duty - around 2.5 mph and 35 minutes on treadmill at 3 mph (treadmill abruptly stopped on me or I would've gone 60 minutes) ; back on track and within range today!!
Thur:10 minute walk during recess duty and 65 at night, both about 22.5 minute miles ; within range
Fri:no cardio :( unfortunately needed a day to recover from some heat related physical problems ; within calorie range

I have been exercising faithfully since I joined Spark in July, eating well, too. I HAD BEEN logging my results, but then the last two weeks have slacked off recording. I'm still losing, but now feel kinda like a boat without a paddle and hoping the wind will keep me on course. Time to regroup!! This is a perfect opt to start back tracking my way. There is no doubt when you log you are firmly in command of your ship. (And I still have a long cruise ahead of me.) So, go team-let's track those calories and exercises!

This week we will focus on getting in some CARDIO and on watching our CALORIE intake. These two are very important to weight loss.

CARDIO helps you to get your heart rate up so that you can burn fat. As far as CALORIES are concerned, you want to keep watch of how many calories you are putting into your body. SP gives you a calorie range (check the START PAGE) based on your age and how much you workout per day/week.

Did you know that not eating enough is just as bad as eating too much?! If you are not giving your body enough fuel to properly function, then it will begin to hold onto the fat that is already stored in the body. We don't want that to happen!! That's why it is good to know your calorie range. You could workout 'til the cows come home and still not see any results if you are not refueling your body properly!

So, with that being said, we will work on getting in AT LEAST 90 minutes of cardio this week and we will track our calories.

On another team that I am a part of (The Biggest Loser Challenge), we call it CICO (pronounced 'kick-o'). Let me tell you this: IT WORKS!! I have been faithfully CICO-ing for the past few weeks and I have watched the pounds start to drop. That goes to show that it is VERY important to track your calorie intake. Even when I did not exercise as much and I continued to stay within my calorie range I STILL lost a little weight! (Please note that results will be different for everyone.)

So, grab a notebook and start tracking!! If you want suggestions on how to track just email me and I will give you some pointers.

Good luck everyone!! I look forward to seeing what kind of results you begin to have once you start tracking your calorie intake and getting in some cardio. It may not happen right off the bat, but if you keep at it it will begin to work.

You can post here each day how much cardio you did and if you stayed within your calorie range. Please use the example's format below:

M: 30 min walking; stayed within range
Tu: 60 min Jazzercise; did not stay within range
We:
Th:
F:
Sa:
Su:

**Please note that you can edit your post each day to keep from having to add a new post to the forum. That way it will be easier to keep track of everyone.**

Happy tracking!!!
