Thursday 8-14. Green beans, hominy, cabbage, and an apple. Didn't quite make it as we were on a one day trip. :(
Friday 8-15. Today though I have had lettuce, tomato, bell pepper, black olives, banana peppers, spinach, pickles. (They were all on a Subway chicken sandwich. Yummy. I don't know yet how many I will have with dinner. I do better with the veggies than with the fruit.

Shay, I agree with you about the Birdseye Steamfresh Veggies. I get them all the time. I love the same ones you mentioned. I just had the Asian Medley one the other night.

Today for fruits and veggies:
2 Plums, 2 Nectarines, 1 Banana and some grapes. I am not sure for the rest of the day or dinner. This is what I have so far.

You guys sure do make my mouth water talking about all those yummy fruits and veggies!! emoticon
Great job on getting those "freggies" in!!

When I first started with the diet I had trouble trying to get at least 5 in a day. I still don't always get in 5 a day, but I do most days. Recently I started focusing more on getting in more veggies than fruits and I really do think that it had a positive effect with my weight loss.

I love to eat them (both fruits and veggies), and I enjoy trying different varieties. Lots of times now I buy the Bird's Eye Steamfresh bags of veggies and eat about a cup at lunch and/or dinner. I LOVE the Asian Medley and the Southwest Corn (I think that's what it's called)!! They are absolutely de-lish!!!

Enjoy getting in those "freggies" this week!! A new challenge will be heading your way soon. emoticon emoticon

Ok, yesterday wasn't my best day but hey, I'm honest. I had blueberries, cherries, zucchini and asparagus. I did eat about 15 spears of asparagus couldn't that count as two? Oh well a total of 4 if not. But I slept till noon and didn't really eat breakfast. I had trouble eating enough calories. So I ate some junk for calories. But I'm in the challenge!

Well today I loaded my subway sandwich with extra lettuce and extra bellpepper :D

I also am making a salad to go with dinner tonight in addition to some corn on the cob. I just need to work at getting more fruit into my diet.

Bigole, I think the green drink you're referring to might be Spirulina. I saw it on Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern, but I've never tried it.

Monday: champagne grapes (those tiny little grapes), baby carrots, romaine salad, sweet potato, brussels sprouts (hated them as a kid, but now I love them! I just steam them and eat them with some salt and "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter" spray).

Tuesday: Peach, cherries, romaine salad, tomato, strawberries

I'm working on the whole fruit and veggie thing. I had a salad with fruit in it for lunch yesterday at Cosi. It was devine but not sure of the calories in something not packaged or that I didn't make. My sister swears by a powdered drink that you mix with water and is supposed to be the equivalent of five vegetables. It is green and from Japan. Has anybody every heard of it? It seems to good to be true.

I'm just starting the program and am trying to take things really one little piece at a time so I don't overwhelm myself- I know I'd give up if I let myself use that as an excuse. So I'm not going to totally join the whole 5 a day challenge this time- I'm going to just challenge myself to include some fruit or veggie everyday. Trust me- this is enough of a challenge for me! emoticon

Monday 8-11 For supper I grilled some yellow squash, zuchinni, onion, green bell pepper, red tomato, and a yellow tomato. All fresh picked from our garden today. I marinated them in a small amount of Italian dressing, some garlic powder, salt and pepper for about 5 minutes before putting them on the grill. I cooked them in a grill tray and my hubby and I both really enjoyed them. I also had green beans from the garden too.

Tuesday 8-12 Had some more of my grilled veggies that were left over from last night. 6 kinds. I will also have lettuce and tomato tonight on my tacos. That will make a total of 8 for today WooHoo!!!

Breakfast- i added peach and apricot to my cereals. Also had a banana.
Lunch-added tomotes, cucumber, lettuce,onion to my sandwich. Apple
Dinner- mixed salad leafs,plus spinach,watercress,tomotes,carrots,peppers
,red cabbage,cucumber,onion,celery.
Snack-yogurt with raspberries.
Plum.

I did my rainbow today while making breakfast and lunch for work.
Orange - Cantaloupe
Purple - Raisins and some grapes
Green - Romaine Lettuce and Green Bell Peppers
Yellow - Yellow bell peppers
Red - Tomatoes

Hi, Team! It seems that maybe no one saw the challenge for last week--because no one participated!! emoticon

Well, we're going to try it again this week. The Fab Five Challenge will run again this week, Aug. 11-17. I decided to change the start date to Mondays. If this is a problem then please let me know. So, here's the information for the challenge.

The challenge for this week is the Fab Five Challenge. Our goal this week is to eat at least 5 fruits and vegetables per day. Fruits and veggies are yummy and they are low in calories too.
