747 points but concidering that i always check in during my working hours, not so bad. I start off doing it during my lunch hour, but it's amazing how you can get into this site. time flys and befor you know it, it's already time to go home.

Good or bad, at the very least, make it interesting.

Regarding the question of the nutrition tracker points... The points only count for each time you add food or check things off. So if you add all your meals at one time, it's only going to count for one point. I don't know if that's how it happens if you follow the meal plan they have for you as I've been using it as kind of a rough guide for suggestions, especially until I make my next shopping trip with my new nutrition priorities in mind.

Man, I am soo glad I found this website. I was considering sinking some major money into something like a BodyBugg or ActiTrainer and read a review just to come here instead. You all are so funny! emoticon OMG, when I first started with SP I could stay on here ALL DAY (and still can...)! It was around Christmas when I joined, so I had plenty of time to be on here because I was on vacation or it was slow at work. The site is great and very helpful (and FREE!!).

Just so everyone knows, you don't HAVE to post your point totals here. (It does make for good conversation though--heehee!) It's totally up to you. This challenge is just to help everyone get familiar with the site. It gives you a good starting point so that you don't get so overwhelmed.

Now, if you turn into an addict it's not my fault! emoticon (I'm a recovering SP junkie--and darned proud of it...LOL!)

I just started day 3 and have 269 points. Those points are very motivating. :-) I am glad to see I am not the only one who was overwhelmed at first and seemed to spent my first day almost entirely on the website. Already, I am feeling like I am getting the hang of it. In fact, I moved to stage 2 today. I have lost a lot of weight in the last year and the stage 1 goals were already feeling very natural to me. I need more help getting past a plateau and staying motivated and already I am seeing progress in those areas! :-)

Yes, it can be time consuming but I learn so much on SP that its worth it. The more teams you are on, the more posts you get and more it takes time. I'm trying to reduce my time, but its hard b/c I just enjoy the message boards too much.

Hi this is my first post on here. I really like that there are going to be new challenges all the time. Thanks for motavating me to loose weight. I am on day four and have 285 sparkpoints but I have been reading everything I can possibly find and going through recipes and trying them out. I'm still working on finding my way around but I love the idea of a challenge. Was surprised to see that I had over 100 points already! Better news is that I have lost 1.5 pounds this week.

Okay, my first post. Yay! I have been with SP for almost a week and I have 163 points...they are very easy to get. I haven't even begun all the food tracking yet. I was invited to SP by a friend and was so fired up by what I saw, I didn't want to wait until I was home to join...I just didn't think through the food tracking part. Our groceries are bought two weeks in advance and I am kinda stuck until next week when I return home from vacation.

I think the challenges would be a great way to learn more about the site.

That sounds like a great idea to get started! I have been watching my SparkPoints, and it does help. The more time you spend trying to learn all of the tools available, the easier it starts to get to navigate! The information is great, and the motivation to eat healty is even better. Now I just have to sign off and earn some points by logging some exercise time! emoticon

And to add on, I think we might make this a two week one to get the people joining at the end of the week. After that, a new one every Sunday will be posted in Sticky Slot #1 or #2. :)

Welcome to SP! As Stephanie stated in the previous thread, new challenges will be posted weekly. Challenges will be related to healthy lifestyle changes as a whole, not just exercise.

This week's challenge will help everyone get familiar with SparkPeople by getting SparkPoints. SparkPoints can be attained by doing various things on the site such as huddling and reading SP articles. To see a list of SparkPoints that are available, place your cursor on MY TOOLS (top left of page), then click on MY SPARKPOINTS.

The list includes the type of "challenge", the Point value, the current day's Points, an Action Link that will take you to the challenge, and also info about each challenge.

Not only is getting SparkPoints a great way to help you get familiar with the site, but it is also a great way to help keep you on track. SP has an abundance of resources--and they're all FREE!! By utilizing the tools provided, you can start seeing results in no time!

Good luck to you, and if you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask!
