That sounds great! Get them thinking about it at an early age. Good luck with it.

I absolutely agree. We are fortunate to have active girls in all 3 divisions within our troop, but the Daisies have been so determined to find an at-home patch program that the older girls aren't working on. :) And because they are all watching me go through this Journey for myself, they are even more eager to "help Ms. Jamie lose weight". I'm going to be sad to see all but one of my Daisies bridge to Brownies at the end of the year.

That's great!!! My Brownies are (or atleast MY Brownie) are itching to do the sports/moving Try-its. It's refreshing to see! There may be hope for the future yet!

Today starts the 12-week process for my Daisies, who have been wanting to work on a patch independently outside of our meetings. After sifting through numerous options, I settled on the Shape Up! patch.

For those who haven't heard about this patch, Shape Up! is a 12-week program with two parts: Get Movin' and Eat Right. For the Get Movin' portion, the girls have to do at least 30 minutes of physical activities 3 times each week or more. They also have a chart they have to use to log what kind of activities they participated in. For the Eat Right portion, they have to log what kind of foods they eat/drink each day from 3 different categories: Veggies, Fruits and Natural Fruit Juices, and Milk and other Dairy Products.

If the girls complete the 12-week program successfully, they each earn the Shape Up! patch.

Rather than using the spreadsheet created by GSUSA, I created my own so that the girls didn't have so many papers to keep up with. If anyone is interested in the easy-to-use spreadsheets I created for my Daisies, feel free to message me and send me your email address.
