Great job, Terri!!! And it is great that you are working on this already! I am still trying to regain flexibility.

I did dancing with the Wii last night and this morning.. and I will do strength training during biggest loser tonight. Somehow it seems easier to push myself when watching them work so hard.

I did another 30 min. of strength exercises with the ball. Still no weight on my foot, but I'm able to do these. I did notice today how tight my ligaments have gotten as I tried to stretch. I actually had to do a few more exercises and come back and stretch some more. I've lost a lot of flexibility~

This is for yesterday--
I did ball exercises: pushups, bridges, hamstring flexes, and crunches.
And floor exercises: leg raises, back extensions
and chair exercises: sitting leg extensions and lateral arm raises. whew...
...I'd have done more but the phone rang and it was one of my kids. I didn't want them to think I'd fallen and hurt myself since I was home alone, so I had to call them back~

Sorry to be confusing, Terri! I was referring to the fact that no one seems to be playing tag this month, tho lots of people did the January challenge. I was saying I guess we do better with challenges here, so I'll have to come up with another one next month.

Did the 2 mi WATP. Tag, who's next? emoticon

I don't know what you mean by daily points. I guess I should've just entered the amount of time I exercised?

oops emoticon

We're taking a trip next month--after I get out of the cast and into a walking boot. After being cooped up and really tied down, it will be nice to get away with my Prince for a few days!

I'm guessing you'd rather go for the daily points. lol Okay. A March challenge is in the works! :)

(BTW, I'm not having a good month. Vacation is coming and I'm drowning in paperwork. I'm sure once I get away I'll do better. Should have taken a getaway MUCH sooner!)

I finally did it! Yesterday I compiled a list of do-able exercises, watched the demos to be sure I could do them, and this morning I got down on the floor and did some! I had been doing some things from the chair and have been sitting on the stability ball, but hadn't gotten down and done the floor exercises.

This morning I did a set of: modified pushups, lying abductions, single leg raises, back extensions, and donkey kicks. Then I tried to stretch, but was dismayed at how "tight" I've gotten. I think I'm going to be a bit sore--but in a good way!

Good for you, Terri!! I like to use the ball instead of my chair at the desk. It's great for the abs.

2/6 Sat on the stability ball for an hour while at the computer. 1 Set of chair leg lifts, 30 min. of using crutches to do little chores (it may not seem like much but I broke a sweat and was out of breath!)

2/7 Sitting on stability ball (muscles are sore from yesterday!) for an hour.

I took my measurements yesterday and have lost 5 3/4 inches since my surgery 3 wks ago!

Okay, I'm doing some exercises but remember that I'm still one-legged. I stood on my good leg and did leg raises with the other one with the added weight of a cast on my foot. Then some stretching to work the kinks out of my "good" hip which has been doing all the work.

I'm ready to print out a plan of exercises that I can do w/out putting any weight on my cast now that I'm 2 weeks post-op and off all pain meds. I can feel my foot moving inside the cast, so I know the swelling is down too. Maybe I'll have more to report tomorrow~

I did 8 min on the recumbent bike and read on my stability ball for about 10 min.

I know, it sounds pretty sad, but I'm having to start over from scratch again in the exercise dept. yuck!
