Thanks Shawna! Yeah, I definitely feel better when I am eating better. You know, sometimes a reminder is good.

I lost a total of 9 pounds in the month of January and a total of 12 inches are gone!! So, I'd say it was a productive month. I am ready to crush more pounds in the month of February!!

Valerie, you wondered if the pizza was "worth it". Guess what... it was! It showed you what you USED to feel like all the time. Now you know what it feels like to eat right, so that when you eat unhealthily, you don't like the way you physically feel. I remember the first time I realized this. It was like a lightbulb turned on in my head and I realized that I REALLY WAS changing my lifestyle from unhealthy to HEALTHY!

I just realized that today is the last day of the melting challenge! I have really enjoyed it. Are we going to have another challenge?

I didn't do to hot today. I ate pizza and I ate it as if I had never had it before. Now I feel rather bloated and uncomfortable. I don't know if it was worth it. I also had ice cream, so I am just a little over my range but not too bad. I was going to take some measurements tonight, but I think I'll wait until the morning!

I'll check back over here tomorrow and post total loss and inches lost for the month. I can't believe January is over. I must have blinked too long.

hello all.
i have still been participating in the chalenge, but am having a hard time getting on hre to tally my points--and i don't have time to catch up now.

i just noticed that i have well over 1000 min., but haven't figured in yesterday's min yet. yay!

too bad i weighed 132.5 this morning--i am about to get aggravated (as my sister use to say, when she was way past the point of aggravation!)lol

Each week I give just a couple extra challenges with points.
Shawna and I just took points for the 'wk 2 extra points challenge' posted in a separate post below this thread. You can get points for those items once.
Wk 2 was the second time you may have measured, and the only time so far, that you can get points for having lost any inches this month. Read the extra challenges to see how to get extra points. Clear as mud? lol Holler if you still have questions!

Shawna, when we were doing the BMR thing, you were getting gobs of exercise; I was always amazed. Remember? You were walking with MIL in mornings (I think), and then doing 45 min Turbo jam. (You really got results too!)

I am thinking about doing TurboJam, but do youhave to buy all those DVD's at once? I hate to spend $100 or more on something that I ended upnot liking after all.

I read that! And I also noticed last night on The Biggest Loser that they exercise 6-8 hours each day!! I know they're under a doctor's care during the show, but if they can do 6-8 hours/day, surely an hour or even two for us can be beneficial...

Did you notice the Weekly Spark article today? It said the 30 min/day cardio recommended, was for overall health, but that people who actually lost weight by exercising averaged an hour per day. Hopefully that hour per day will help my weight get moving back down the scale again.

Thank you girls! And yes, I did it healthy. Nicole's strength training and challege usually counts for 10-15 min. and I walk on th treadmill for 45-60 min. and last week I took two days off of cardio. and still reached 600 min.

Well, if a person exercised 60 minutes 20 days a month, and had weekends off, that would be 1200 minutes. And I wanted to ensure some rest time like they say, too. And there are lots of things that would have you getting at least an hour... gardening, shoveling, playing a sport, etc. I'm thinking it still sounds healthy and not overkill. I'm thinking yes. Twice would be okay and healthy. Okay, go for it, Ashley (and anyone else)!

Hmm.. I figured up whether it would be "healthy" to do 1200 min of exercise in a month. If a person exercises an average of 45min/day for 30 days, that comes to over 1300 min for the month. I would say that if someone is "able" to do 1200 min in a month, healthfully, the extra points rewards consistency. Wha'd'ya think?

The melting is working because I lost 6.5 inches last week and lost a pound!! I had hoped for more on the pounds, but I'll take a one pound loss, over a gain any day!! How's everyone else doing? Or am I posting this info on the wrong thread??
