It has been cooler here in MI also. Kind of nice, though I am cold in the mornings when I get up. I am a summer person, so I don't want to wish the fall weather here too quickly.

Summer is a hard time of the year because people are usually busier so hopefully September/October teams will be more active. Anyone else sign up for the biggest loser?? When does it start again?? I'm super excited to say that I have lost 2 pounds this week after gaining 10 pounds in the past 2 months. I did a half hour workout on my gazelle this morning and hope to get in another one tonight after my daughter is in bed.

I did my workout yesterday, and I feel so much better. I have more energy after I work out. :) And I lost 3.3 more pounds over the two weeks of my crazy schedule. :) I'm so so excited. I'm glad everyone is doing well. And I really hope the September/October teams are more active too. :)

Kayleney, glad to hear you are done with your crazy work schedule. I can't even imagine working that much and having kids. I am impressed that you are doing work outs 3 nights a week after all that. Great Job.
Jessicamae, good to hear from you on here. We have not had much activity on this thread these last couple months. Maybe the September/October buddy support teams will work out better. I think I am going to try and make some small teams, so that you can really get to know those people. We will see how it goes.

I'm done with my "I've been working like crazy" excuse. I am getting used to getting up at 3am, and I am going to do a workout DVD when the boys go to bed 3 nights a week. My procrastinating sense wanted to wait til Monday, but I'm starting TODAY. :)

I have not been very motivated lately either, though for the most part I am still getting on spark people and logging my food and fitness and trying to check in everyday. I just don't usually log my food until the end of the day which is bad because I am not keeping track of my calories to well throughout the day and end up going way over. I have not been exercising much lately. I do enjoy walking, but even that I am not doing much of. Sometimes it just seems hard to find the time. I think I must just waste a lot of time. Right now I am tryiing to complete a quickbooks course so I am working on that and don't have as much time to be on spark people.
I do need another challenge to get me motivated I think, so I am also hoping the biggest loser challenge will help me out. When are you planning on starting that officially?

I don't know either. Maybe just use your healthy night meals packed in a plate? I often warm up my dinner the next day for lunch. Worth a shot!

I have done horrible this month. My motivation is pretty much rock bottom. I don't want to work out, I am eating too much, craving chocolate every day, and I am even not coming on here as much. I feel horrible.

I am hoping that starting sign-ups for Biggest Loser soon will help me feel more motivated.

Sorry, I don't really eat the frozen dinners at least not healthy ones. I still eat frozen pizzas, but just try to not eat a very big portion at a time. I actually don't eat very healthy, I need to wrok on improving my eating habits.

Does anyone use the healthy frozen dinners? I have access to a microwave at my new job (my old one we didn't have anything) and I'm wondering if the healthy dinners are really a healthy option for me to pack along. Sometimes they say healthy, but really they're not. Does anyone have a favorite brand or meal? :)

Hello! Things have been kinda crazy here. I got a new job, and so next week I'll be working the new job 5am-2pm (training) and my old job 3:30pm-11pm (last week of my notice). I'm exhausted just thinking about it. I'm deciding that I won't feel guilty for not exercising. There's so much on my plate that I just need to survive the week. Once it's over I can jump back on the bandwagon. :)

Laura, you will have to let us know if you like Zumba. I took a walk this evening. It was nice to get out for a little while. Actually tonight my husband and all the kids went with me. Often times it is just me and the baby or me and one or 2 of the kids. My husband is usually busy doing other stuff and can't always walk, but tonight we all went.

Hi, my exercise routine is currently mostly just taking walks. I do also play outside with the kids, but my exercise is when I purposely take a walk for exercise. I haven't walked in a few days, hopefully will get one in tom. I do occassionaly do a work out DVD or work out with the stability ball. I have the walk away the pounds videos and I like them because they add some strength training to my walks. I would like to try and get a Jillian DVD and maybe Zumba, but have not bought them yet.

I walk with the boys, play at the park, and at home with them. When they go to bed I do as much time on the treadmill as I can handle. I am up to an hour at a time. I just don't do it every day anymore. :-(

Gah. I'm dying for some heat. haha. We've had a dreadful summer, it's like we skipped straight to fall. :( blech. So I'm curious (sorry if I'm repeating an old discussion) but what are people's exercise routine's like? I'm always looking for new ideas. haha. :) I go walking every morning and I have a few dvds, pilates and some jillian michaels, that I do every so often (I should do more haha). :)

I also like the idea of getting outside every day. I try to remember to get out and enjoy the summer while it is here. I don't like winter, so I need to get out while I can. I also like the boys to get out and run around. It has been pretty hot here a lot recently though. On some of the really hot days the boys have been playing a lot in their little pool. I probably will try to take them outside in a little bit after Samuel wakes up from his nap, so we can be out for a little while before supper and VBS.

I love the idea of getting 30 minutes of outside time!! :) I have a fenced in backyard where my oldest LOVES to run around but I tend to just forget to go out there a lot because we typically don't have great weather (I'm in Washington). Hi everyone, it looks like some of you have posted since I last wrote where is everyone. After I wrote that I apparently got a little busy and haven't checked in. I was working on our budget during my computer time earlier this week and I also am working in our church VBS this week so that is taking me away from home each evening. I have been slacking on keeping up on spark people. I realized that I have not been keeping up on updating my fitness minutes and I apparently also forgot to log my food for 2 days straight. Not quite sure what happened there. It has been a little difficult to log my food this week because they are providing dinner at church before VBS for the workers. It is hard to know how much I eat without measuring. Other than that I am just busy with the 3 kids. Hope everyone is having a good week.

Holy smokes! 2 weeks have slipped by and I haven't checked in once! EEeeek!

Not exactly sure how 2 weeks have gone by. Nothing really exciting has happened but it probably helps that my husband has had time off and my sister-in-law has stopped in for a visit. But still... not good when your trying for consistency!

So... in the last 2 weeks I have not tracked my food eaten, exercised, or checked in with our group. I apologize. It's not very motivating, is it?

Today feels like Monday so it's fitting to start over :) I'm setting a couple of mini goals for myself to get me to next week. Starting today... Track what I've eaten and get in 30 mins of outside time. I feel like my days have become overwhelmed with sitting and feeding baby so I miss outside so much!

So this Monday and Tuesday I had to take off my walk because it's my husband's church camp retreat weak, and those are the only two days he can go. :( BUT, the whole retreat is on a HUGE property filled with hills and we're walking the whole time, so I don't feel too guilty. lol. :)

Hello! My name is Kaylene, and I didn't sign up in time for this, but I got an email to join on in so I will! I guess I'll introduce myself. I'm eighteen, and I just graduated high school. I have two wonderful little boys, Christopher (18 months) and Aiden (4 months). Aiden was 6 weeks premature, so he's a bit behind developmentally, but he's healthy and strong. :) My husband Brad and I will have our second anniversary in November, and I'm starting college as soon as my paperwork goes through, either fall or winter quarter, and I'm majoring in accounting. I also work about 30 hours a week as a cashier, and I'm looking for another (better) job now that I'm graduated. :)

Now that that's done, I'll get to the health stuff. I walk an hour and a half Monday through Friday mornings with my friend Jo, and we've been going consistently for about three weeks. :) I don't really "diet" I just try to make healthy choices, as well as watch my portion sizes. With just this bit I've lost 11 pounds in two months, and I'm working hard for that last 19 that will put me at 125 lbs. :)

Great job on working out today. I did not exercise today. I had been doing pretty good at walking every day for a few days, but today it was raining and storming all day, so I did not exercise. Tomorrow the weather is not supposed to be much better, so I probably better do an exercise video tom.

Hi Laura,
I just sent you an email also about inviting the others to join our buddy team. I will look at the signup thread again and try to invite them.
I like Branson. Did you see any good shows while you were there? I was there a couple years ago and a couple times when I was a kid.
I think I saw the baldknobbers or something like that. The last time we also saw the chinese acrobats or something I think it was. I remember it was really good, though I can't remember the name of the show. Have a great night.

Laura congrats on going down a pants size. That is exciting.
Krista, great job on getting a routine going with a 9 week old and getting some exercise in. My youngest is 6 months now, but I still don't feel like I really have a routine with him. Of course, he doesn't seem to want to take naps regularly, so that is the problem. He is finally sleeping in his own bed most nights and sleeping the whole night though last night did not go that well.
Melinda, I hope you are having a better time with your food. I seem to be struggling with that also and I was not exercising much this week. I finally walked today and I just walked around the house to get over 10K steps. I have not done that in a few weeks. Hopefully this will get me back on track with exercising again. I need to make myself go out and walk again tom, so we will see how that goes. Hopefully the weather cooperates. Hope everyone is doing well. Talk to you all soon.

I have lost a pant size!!! I am so beyond excited about this! I can't remember EVER going down a pant size before. I was small before marriage and kids--so I have always gone up, never down. I am so excited (how many times can I say this, lol) to be moving in the right direction.

Good morning everyone! I haven't checked in here a lot lately--I've been struggling! I've done well with my activity, but eating has been a challenge. Sigh! I'm making a conscious effort to get things under control this week.

Yesterday was a very rainy day--like November rainy. Luckily, the weather has turned back to summer today. I went out for my walk/run this morning (I'm on C25K W7 now!) and I couldn't believe all the slugs that were out. Yuck!

Hi Everyone,

Well.. my baby girl is 9 weeks old today! How time flies! I'm into a routine and last week I was even able to workout on three days! YEAH!

I jumped on the scale today and I'm maintaining a steady weight. I'm still trying to figure out exactly how much I need for calories without losing or gaining. I have a lot to lose but I'm in no hurry. My biggest fear is losing too much too fast and losing my milk supply. So... maintaining for awhile is my goal and if I do lose, it's because of the extra activity not a calorie restriction.

So far I've had a full week of tracking. I did skip Saturday though. It was my day to relax and enjoy having my husband home. I didn't eat junk or over eat, I just took the day in stride and made good food choices.

Now... onto a new week with new adventures! Hope you have a good day!!

Laura, you can send me the link to vote for you also and I will try to remember to do that. How is everyone doing this month? I am having a hard time being motivated, though I did walk quite a few days last week and I did ok calorie wise most days. I ate pretty bad on Saturday though. I am kind of tired, so I should try to get to bed soon.

emoticon walked 3 miles today!! I haven't been walking much at all lately. I guess for awhile it was just too hot and is suppose to get humid again this weekend/next week. However, I have been eating like a bottomless pit all day and I don't know why, unless it is an indication of my monthly visitor coming very soon. :(

Hi everyone, I am hoping to get back on track with spark people now that I have returned home. I did not do well with my eating or exercise while I was gone last week. I think I am also going to have to look for another challenge to ge me more motivated again. I did track my food today and took a walk which is hopefully getting me back on track.

Laura, glad to read that you do not have cancer. Hope they can find out what is causing your pain soon.

Hi everyone!! I hope everyone had a good week! I did! I haven't lost anymore weight and didn't gain any either. My goal this week is to lose 2 pounds or tone up a little bit. which ever one comes first. I have been working out with 30 day shred.

Hi Gang!

Yeah Laura!!!! That's AWESOME news!! No cancer!!! WOOHOO!!!

So, last week totally slipped by. I did however track 2 my food intake 2 days which is 2 days more than I've been tracking so that's a start!

I'll somewhat blame the lack of tracking on visitors. My husband has been away for a month (arrived home Saturday afternoon!! yay!!). Since I was still postpartum I had his mom stay for 2 weeks and then my mom stayed for 2 weeks. Life is different when there's someone in your home for that long. It was a good visit but I'm thankful that my husband is home and there's no one else here!!

I started my morning off well. I've done the laundry, rearranged the furniture to accommodate the ever growing pile of toys, vacuumed, fed baby, and I've even gotten a shower and it's only 11 am. I've also tracked what I've eaten so far today!! yay me!! lol!!

So this week, my goal is to track everything I eat. I'm trying to make sure that I'm getting enough to support healthy breastfeeding. I'm also going to start a 9 week challenge with my EA Active 2 wii game. It was the catalyst that had me losing weight last year before I found out I was pregnant. In fact, it was the whole reason that I lost 15 lbs! so... I'm not going to go at it as hard as I had been but I'm going to give it a good effort. There has been some definite changes in strength since pregnancy and not for the better :(

Well... that's where I am today :) One foot in front of the other. Trying to keep a 2 year old happy and a baby content and through it all... try to keep my sanity! lol!! Good times that I wouldn't change for the world!!

Yesterday I went for a walk with my mom and my daughter for the first time in awhile because of moving. Today the humidity was really getting to me so I just tried to relax as much as possible. I've joined 2 challenges that I will be starting this month so I can get back on track. Hope everyone had a great weekend!!

Also, I decided to update my page the other day!! No more hiding or denying anything!

I got my biospy results back today: No Cancer!!! emoticon

But they still aren't sure why I am experiencing such pain after I eat. emoticon

I will, I went in for stomach pain and was told it could be cancer. Scary stuff indeed. That is one of my biggest fears since my mom had Ovarian Cancer when I was 4 and my FIL died of Cancer that wasn't found in time.

Hi all! I'm an American, living in Perth Australia. My husband and I have just had a baby boy (Noah) 3 months ago. I'm breastfeeding and it hasn't magically melted away the pounds as promised, so I'm hoping spark can help me move the scale. I'm almost back to my pre-pregnancy weight but was overweight to start with. My overall goal is 70 pounds, but I know I feel great about 30 lbs less.

We've just moved to be closer to my husband's work and now I am about 1 hour away from my friends and workmates. I don't really know anyone in this suburb yet, so really appreciate the active support of my sparkbuddies. Kristin

I see some familiar names. My name is Laura. I have two sons, Alex (5) and Logan (18 months). I have been married to Rod for 7 years.

Summer is always busy for me, but this year it has been especially hard because I have been having health issues since March. I just found out Friday that I have Barret's Esphogus (which I can't spell). They took a biospy and I find out this Friday if it is cancerous. I am praying that it isn't and that this is easily treatable and I will see a vast improvement very soon.

I hope that this becomes a very active thread!

Hi! My name is Krista and I'm a SAHM to a beautiful 2 year old girl and a wonderful 7 week old baby girl!! Yes, that's right!! I'm just out of the postpartum phase and ready to make some changes!

We are an army family and we live in a small town in New Brunswick, Canada. My husband is currently away returning in a week (yay!!) and I've had the grandmas in to help out. It's been busy but very good!

My goal this month is simply to start tracking my food intake and get some physical activity in. I've noticed that I have a lot of muscle imbalance from pregnancy and from the years of sitting around and not being as active as I once was. So... time to get up and move (when I'm not breastfeeding!!)!!
