OMG, it has been over a month since I last posted! It goes to show that since that time I also have been having a hard time trying to find the time to track all of my info on SP. Our life is crazy busy with the kids and their sports, the only night that I have free is Fridays!!

Is anyone else finding it hard to find the time to log in and track their stuff?

Hi Team! Gosh it feels like forever since I've posted. Things have just seemed crazy. I know I've been commenting on some of your status though. Congrats to everyone on recent successes!

I FINALLY made it to a Water Aerobics class and I LOVE it. Hoping to do another this week. Lost 3 lbs between weighing myself before the class on Saturday morning and weighing myself today. So, it must be working for me.

Anyone know how long the BSG goes into April?

Hi Shasta Daisy team- I hope everyone had a good Easter Holiday weekend. I got to run my first 5K last saturday and did much better than I had anticipated which was GREAT!! I finished in 34.07 minutes and placed 121 out of 205 so not bad for a first. This coming Saturday I am running my first 10K and I am VERY nervous since I have a knee that has been acting up. I am not going to run till then to give it some rest. It is going to be a fun time with a group of my GF's who are going to run too and my kids are going to come and watch.

Arichesin-I tried to do the whole tracking in my head thing a few times and then would later actually go in and log it to see if I was close...not even!! It is just not a thing I can do and do it right. I would go back to truely tracking till you break your plateau at least. I know it gets to be a pain but I had to do it too to get myself out of my rut. Good Luck! My first 30 lbs came off pretty easy now that I am there, it took me 3 weeks to loose 1 lb after the 30 lb mark UGH!! emoticon

Hello All!!!
With the warmer weather I am finding it hard to sit down and track all of my info online. Which is probably why I have hit my plateau and can't break the 20 pound mark since starting SP & 30 pounds all together. My goal is to lose 40 lb since starting SP, I need to find the motivation and keep tracking.
I have increased the intensity of my workouts, but I think I am going over my calories. I have trying to keep track in my head of what I am eating, but I must be going over!
How is everybody else doing?

Hello,fellow flowers.How's it going?

It's so hot here at the moment that I feel completely lazy all day. I've been making myself do at least a little cardio just to keep in the habit of exercising regularly but I have to admit that I'm not pushing myself hard enough.

Finally managed to purchase a a pair of running shoes. Wonder how long it'll take before I feel like a runner.

Hope everyone had a great Easter! I think this is the first time ever that I didn't feel like I ate so much that I felt like I was going to explode! Each holiday is hard not having the hubby here but I tried some new healthier recipes the kept me busy...I really wanted to be out of the 140s by my weigh in tonight at the local Y & I am :) I lost 4.4lbs this past week & feel great!!!!! The weather has been so much nicer here & having been walking outside with the little one as much as possible.

Good luck everyone this week & I'm crossing my fingers that the weather stays nice here!

Hi Team,
How are we doing? The last couple of weeks have been crazy for me. Last week was Spring break for our oldest daughter, so we took the kids to the children's museum and the zoo, on top of that I worked 3 extra shifts. With all of that I had gained 2 lbs on my weigh on the 21st but was happy to lose them with my weigh in on the 28th. We ate out a lot, but I did find myself making healthier choices and portioning out my foods better. Unfortunately I didn't get to log on to SP and track like I had hoped to, but it did prove that I am learning lots through SP and it helped me lose those darn 2 pounds I had gained.
This week is off to a better start, had a great workout today. We decided to get a jogger stroller, which should be here this Fri or Sat!! The weather is getting nicer and I want to take full advantage, & with the jogger stroller I hope to walk around the ball fields during my eldests daughters practice since we will be at a field 5 days a week!!
How are things looking up for the rest of the team?

THEMRSH thanks so much for the food ideas! I have also considered switching my lunch and dinner around so that I eat dinner at lunch time & vice versa, since lunch foods tend to be more portable!

Hey everyone.. How is everyone doing.. I am feeling better as the scale this morning said down 2.4lbs. YEAH!! Finally going in the right direction, i really hope next week it stays going in the right direction. lol..
I decided to go off my birth control since dh is overseas and wont be back til mid July.. I think it has helped because since getting on this type of BC i gained 10lbs in about 3 1/2 months and no matter what i did i couldnt lose any weight! I am going to call the doctor and see if i can make an appointment to find out if there is something else i can take and also have her run my hormone levels because ever since having my son they feel out of wack to me and its been 15 months!
How is everyone else doing???

Hello Daisy team-
I am so glad to be done with my crazy week last week. I spent 4 of the 5 work days in training for work and had a one hour commute from the town it was in to home each day. It was an exhausting class so the week was not a huge workout week but did ok. I got in 19.25 miles in and 1 strength training day. I am glad to be back to a normal week of work and working out. This coming Saturday is my first 5K and I am very excited about it. I also got a new treadmill and it is SOOO awesome. Now that it is getting nice out I have been running outside and trying to get use to running outside for my races but it is nice to have a backup when I can't get out.
I hope to have a loss this week, pretty sure I will but will see for sure on Tuesday.

I hope everyone has a great week! emoticon

Hello, I've not posted all week as I wanted my next post to be a possitive one. I weighed myself after my last post here, ofcourse I'd gained but not as much as I'd feared. Now one week later I'm pleased to say I have lost 1lb. It must have been all the spring cleaning I did at the weekend.

I've realised that even though I sometimes feel I've fallen there are certain healthy habbits that have stuck, thanks to SP, and because they're now habbts I don't give myself credit for doing them.

ANNIEBETH I hope your children are feeling better. It must have been so scary for you.

BUCSCHIC07 I'd like to congratulate you on your 2.5lb loss but you cheated;-) if those 2.5lbs come back don't beat yourself up about it. You've been sick so give yourself time to get back on track. I hope you're feeling better.

Becky, I am in awe of your determination. You deserve to have those lbs falling off. I think your scales must be broken! smash them then get new ones.

Keep at it people. emoticon

Hello everyone! I have not posted in forever, been really busy the last couple of weeks. I have been stuck this month...have yet to loose a pound since Feb. 28th and it is ticking me OFF!! I am only 6 weeks away from my Half marathon and getting nervous. I have a 5K in two weeks and a 10K in 3 weeks so I have been doing a LOT of running to be prepared. You would think with all of the running I would be shedding the pounds..not happening :( . Hope everyone has a great week!! The sun is out today and already 55 degrees. I am SOOOO Happy spring has arrived.

Sorry - this week has been a wreck (sounds like I wasn't alone). Maybe I should have heeded the warning "beware the Ides of March" LOL.

Anyway haven't forgotten about the team will try to check in more. This week my 2 year old was very sick - woke up from nap with blood draining from ears - very bad ear infection. My 10 month old had to have his tear duct probed which involved a very minor surgery but still surgery. Then he spiked a high fever so we had to have chest x-rays and blood work done. He was not a happy camper.

Needless to say my exercise and food intake took a bit of hit this week. However, on the positive side not as bad as it probably would have before starting SP - so WooHoo for that positive!

Have a great weekend!

Andrea

Pretty much anything can be wrapped up into a whole wheat tortilla. Cut up fruits and veggies. You could make a Frittata the night before, they are usually good cold or at room temperature. Granola (I have an awesome recipe for a chocolate one). Nuts or Nut butter Sandwiches. Meal Replacement Bars like South Beach. Salads with cold chicken/turkey/tuna.

Hope some of these ideas help you. Glad I could come up with some ideas for you because I couldn't do it for my self today! Feeling a bit cruddy and just binged and did not eat well at all. I did get in a walk. Tomorrow is another day and I hope to do better!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend Team!

This week has been a crazy busy week for us, spring sports are starting for our oldest daughter, who's birthday party I have stressing about and planning all week, among it being crazy at work.
With spring sports starting,I know that I am facing a huge challenge. I am getting stressed just thinking about it, but I know that I am going to need to do lots of planning ahead for meals. We are gone 5 night a weeks for some sporting event between her and my husband, and this time of year we tend to eat out, A LOT!
So if anybody has any suggestions for quick, easy, nutritious, take along meals, PLEASE let me know!

Well, haha, I never did blog about my horrible food weekend that caused me to gain 6lbs back. But I'm proud to say as of Wednesday I dropped 4 of it back off. Starting to feel a bit of stress with a few things in my life and I can't wait to get to the gym in the morning to sweat it out before I eat it out!

I can't believe your car got broken into while you were working out! I always think of that. I tuck mine away somewhere thinking no one will see it. But thieves are counting on us to do that. The upside is that the upstairs cardio is all windows and faces the parking lot so I can see my car most of the time. I think that deters a bit in my area.

Still trying to get up the courage to take that water aerobics class!

Hi everyone. Im sorry i havent been around and posting but i have had a rough week.. I promise i havent forgotten about the team! Last week my car was broken into while i was at the YMCA.. Can you believe that?? LOL.. They broke the window and went through the whole car and stole my wallet and cell phone that were hidden.. Within an hour of me finding my car and me calling to cancel my cards they ran up 1500 dollars. Between dealing with all of that and gaining almost 2 pounds last week im really wondering why i work out. LOL...
I am trying to stay motivated but its hard right now. For the last month i have been gaining and losing the same 4lbs.. I will try to get on here to post more often this week and hopefully it will help!!
Hope everyones week is going better!!

Thanks for the support. I technically only lost 0.3 of a pound but the way that we do it for our weigh in at work is we drop off the point whatever, so it took me down to the next pound. I was a little bummed about it at first, but then I got a ton of compliments from a few of the docs and other staff that I hadn't worked with in the last few weeks about how great I looked and was encouraged to keep up the great work!!! I know it shouldn't matter but the fact that people were noticing how hard I have worked to get to where I am at now gave me a burst of energy and self esteem!!!

Wow Onevice! That's a crazy set of events you went through. Keep your head up and try again with the shoes. Don't beat yourself up over pizza every once in awhile. You will work if off when you get those new shoes.

I'll have to check out the "eat this not that" daily e-mails I would love to get those b/c I'm addicted to the books. I'm also a super big fan of Hungry Girl although I substitute a lot of things in her recipes b/c she uses a lot of ingredients to lower fat/carbs/calories that I don't approve of for my diet and family.

I had a rough rough food weekend. I have absolutely NO willpower when it comes to eating food outside my home. I'm afraid I'm going to have to become the girl that brings her own food to family functions to avoid the mess I get myself into. I plan to blog about it later this evening in hopes to get some ideas from others. Hopefully someone in the group will read it and have some thoughts for me. It's bad, I gained 6 of my 9.4 lbs lost back just from the weekend. emoticon

Oh no! it sounds like I'm not the only one to have been thrown off course by the scales.

About 3 weeks ago I LOST 1/2 lb and was so devastated that I've been eating whatever I want since then! You see normally I'd be delighted to have lot 1/2lb but I'd been trying really hard and when I weighed in mid week I'd almost lost 2lbs. So what's happened?

My monthlies (sorry never sure what the best word to use might be) arrived the day after, along with all the emotional upheaval that entails. So I went out to cheer my self up by buying some running shoes, with the intention of getting out there and trying a little harder. *note* I was only aware of one place in this town that sells proper sports shoes and not copies. I chose a couple of different styles and the assistant went to get the correct size for me, as they do, she came back with the correct size but only the right shoe, so I tried them both then asked to try on the left side of the best fitting one. They didn't have it! They didn't have the left side of the other pair either!!!? I left, almost in tears, feeling like it's not meant to be, Then went and ate pizza. Bizarrely the pizza restaurant happened to be playing christmas music!?.

Since then I've not tracked any food or exercise, although I have done a little, and I haven't weighed myself.

I'm feeling motivated after reading all the posts here, and I've found a different shop where I might be able to buy running shoes, just waiting for pay day which is tomorrow. Then I'll have no more excuses.

SAICL - Eating out has def been on of the hardest thing for me. I try to look up what would be the best choices before going out with the family either on online or sparkpeoples app for the iphone has been a lifesaver for me....not only does it allow you to keep track of your calories all day but it is also really helpful when going out to eat. Another thing I might suggest is eat something light before you go so you wont be as hungry or tempted when going out & drink lots of water! Eat This Not That books like THEMRSH suggested are really great too. A lot of things that sound "healthy" are some of the worst choices which really shocked me such as arbys the roast turkey sandwich on wheat is on of the worst things on the menu because of the bread they put it on is loaded with sugar. Who would have thought that their roast beef would be one of the best choices. I get Women's Health mag in the mail & am also signed up for their Eat This Not That dialy emails (http://www.womenshealthmag.com/)...after reading some of those I am to the point where I would rather just stay in & eat! I really love some of the recipes from the Hungry Girl books & sparkpeople as well...I would def recommend trying something new!

ARICHESIN - I have a weekly weigh in as well. I am doing a program through the local YMCA which is some what similar to the biggest loser competition wise. This Monday will be my 9 week weigh in and I have lost just over 20lbs in the last 8 weeks since the group started. This week I also bumped up the workouts...I have been to the gym every day but Thursday! The first week I dropped a lot of weight 6lbs and have been between 1 to 3 pounds a week since then. I was caught up in the scale checking for awhile there too and I was really frustrating. I would suggest weighing yourself at home less & at the same time of day. Your body might be retaining weight as well depending on the time of month, if you are drinking enough water, and depending how much salt/sodium you have in your diet. Just because it was easier between college classes & my little one for a while I was popping frozen dinners in the microwave and not thing twice about the sodium just about them being "low cal"....boy was I wrong! My trainer suggested getting rid of them completely & I did not only did I lose more but I feel so much better now that I am eating fresh food & as less processed as possible. Another thing to keep in mind losing just a pound is not bad! Losing to much at once you can get really sick...sometimes i wish I lost more in a week but I am just happy that I am losing & making a healthier lifestyle for myself. Keep up the good work & do not get all bummed out if you only lose a pound it better then gaining a pound any day!!!

I am really nervous about my weigh at work tomorrow. Last week I only lost about a pound and this week I turned up my workout routine and instead of doing 3 days, I will be doing 5. The problem is that I haven't lost a pound this week according to my scale, and depending on the time of day that I weigh myself, I've gained a pound.
Has anyone else had this problem or have any suggestions? emoticon

Amanda, I would LOVE to eat out but I just seem to sabotage myself every time. So for now I'm avoiding it. I would recommend looking at the Eat This Not That books. You can get them at the library. It is a major major eye opener to the damage you can do nutritionally at restaurants. Also, checking to see if the restaurant has nutrition facts online before you go. Let me know what good stuff you get so I can live through you! emoticon

Hello, I thought I'd already posted a little something here but I don't know where it's gone............. ?

I'm very excited to be a Daisy as they've always been my favourite flower. I feel it's a good omen. I am going to make good progress while in this BSG. Just reading the posts here has helped motivate me. I will do some exercise today......

Jealous of all the beautiful weather =)
We have had nothing but rain, fog and more fog which means lots of snow melt and mud - oh well, the sun will shine soon. Plus my son loves the puddles so I guess that makes the gloomy weather happier! Nothing like Spring in Iowa!

I'm so pumped! Fitness has been so hard for me. This week I've been to the gym twice and walked the neighborhood on my off days. I plan on making it to the gym tomorrow which will be the first time meeting my 3x's a week goal since starting Spark. My dd is making the gym hard though b/c she is going through the "you're not my mommy??!!" stage. Childcare had to come find me twice on Wed.

The weather is absolutely beautiful which has been a big motivator to get outside and soak up some vit D.

Hope everyone else is doing fabulous!

Yes the weather has been wonderful, but I haven't been able to enjoy it. I don't think I have ever been this stressed out. We are getting a new computer system at work today and I am a nervous wreck. It will be completely different from what we have been using for the last 12 years that I have been there. And being the manager everyone is going to be looking to me to make sure this rolls out smoothly. Plus with a new baby at home and two other kids... whew. Fortunately I have NOT GAINED any weight in my stressful busy time. Wish me luck today! I hope after I see that I have been worrying about nothing, I will be able to take a big relaxing breath and jump on my eliptical and start losing again.

It is suppose to be really nice here too in Western PA. My little one & I are going to the park for a walk on their new 3 mile walking trail. Then off to the gym later for me for some strength training.

I finally feel like I am making it a habit to have a healthy life style & am super excited to keep up with it! In January I joined a group at the local YMCA & it is similar to the biggest loser with a meeting & weigh in every week. 8 weeks down yesterday & I have already meet my goal of 20 pounds! I haven't felt this good in a long time & hopefully will be bathing suit ready to go to the beach with my hubby when he gets back from his deployment :)

Hope everyone has a great week!!

Hi everyone! It's going to be a beautiful sunny day here in Central Ohio. emoticon I love it!!! Looks like the temps are headed into the high 50's for a few days. I bought a pedometer yesterday and I have a 10K step goal so I'm going to try and take a walk with the kids this morning and early evening. emoticon

What is your mini goal for today??

Hi! My name is Mandi and I am a SAHM of two. My son is 31 months and my daughter 8 months. I've been on Spark since mid January and while I've made a lot of positive changes in my lifestyle I haven't made myself really step up to the plate. By that I mean EXERCISE. I know if I could just get moving that the pounds would just melt off and I have ALOT of them to melt! I'm very happy that I made it to the gym today and will push to make it at least 3 times. Nice to read about everyone and I'm looking forward to some awesome support from fellow mommies. emoticon

Hello all!! Hi I am April, I just turned 30 one month ago today, it's soo sad! I am the mother of an soon to be 10 yr old and a 16 1/2 month old. I have always known that I am not getting any younger and I need to start taking care myself, but never did anything about it. I have come to the point in my life that I need to start putting myself first so that I can be around for my children when I get older. It is nonsense for me to be putting my health at risk over something that I CAN control. My 16 mo. old is always eating off of my plate and there is no reason for me to be starting bad habits with her. I try to make healthy choices for the both of us. My 10 year old is very healthy, fit, & active.

My change is impacting my whole family, for the better, and look for to having an impact your journey too!!! So let's get to buddies and support each other!

Hi Everybody! My name is Laura and I am 27 years old. I have a son that will be 3 in May and a daughter that will be 1 in June. I just joined spark people about 2 weeks ago and am thrilled with my results so far, but I am finding it a little more difficult this week to find the motivation to count my calories and exercise! I am home with my children during the day, and I work full time as a billing representative for a pharmacy at night. This makes it a little hard to find the time to exercise! I am trying to get through the 30 day shred during the week and go to the gym with my husband on the weekend! I am glad to be here and can't wait to reach my goals with all of you! emoticon

Hello- My name is Becky and I am 32 yrs old. I work full time as a Director of a 911 Center in KS. I have a 4 yr old daughter and a 14 month old son. I am half way to my goal weight. I started this journey on Oct. 1st 2009 and have so far lost 31 lbs. I want to lose a total of 62 lbs. I have found a love of running (never a runner before) and have found it to be my greatest stress reliever in life. I have been training for my first running events coming up in the next couple of months that I am very excited about.

Hello to all and I hope you have a great week!! emoticon

Hello -- nice to meet you! My name is Andrea and I am also 35. I have 2 boys they will be 3 years and 1 year in May. I am a stay at home mom. Being overweight has always been a part of my life and this year I have decided that needs to change. I want my boys to have a good role model and so that they don't face obesity later on we need to eat right as a family. Exercise is a big part of my plan but sometimes I need that extra motivation!

Andrea

Happy Birthday, Wendy! Nice to meet you. My name is Jenny and I am 35. I have 3 kids ages 5 years, 1 1/2 years, and 3 months. I just started back to work this week after being off for 12 weeks. Not only have I developed a sinus infection since I have been back to work, I have also completely fallen off the wagon with my diet. I have been so focused on getting caught up at work that I have neglected myself. I hope to meet people who can make me be accountable and get me back on track (even when exercise is the last thing I want to do). Go TEAM!

This is YOUR group until the end of April. Please post often and motivate and support each other as much as possible. Visit each other’s Sparkpages, give Spark goodies, talk about your day, ask about others, even find ways to challenge each other!!

If you stay connected and involved, you will make some great friends before the month is up! So make the most of the time you have to get to know each other!!!

Again, for those of you who just happened to find this team, please DO NOT post here!!

If you would like to know more information about the BSG (Buddy Support Groups), feel free to contact me. Sign-ups for new groups will begin at the end of April.

Have Some Fun!!!!

Team Leader,
Bethany

ATTENTION: To post to your group, please hit REPLY instead of CREATE A NEW TOPIC! This way no one will miss the other's post! You want to stay in the same thread so that you can keep everyone together!!! Also, there would be way to many threads created and it would become hard for everyone to find their teams!!!
