Tribal council again! That stinks, but my weights sure didn't help the team much, so I can't complain. Looks like we will be merging... I'm not sure how to feel about that.

2 out of 3 weeks? How horrible :( I made sure to get out of bed as weight in a little over an hour ago but I guess it was over looked. Either way... Back to council. I gained this week but am starting a cleanse on Monday so I haven't been at full force

Edit: what are your plans/mini goals for this week?

Mine are:
not go to council of course
3 day shakeology cleanse (excited!!)
Re-do week 2 of C25K (didn't finish.. Boo)
350 crunches this week. (thanks to everyone who joined me for 6500+!)

Edit 2: 14 houses! Eek. I'm in the same houselooking boat & looked at 3 before topping out my weekend. It seems like that's all I do in my spare time - exhausting isn't it?

So the bad news is I did not lose but the good news is I did not gain....exactly the same as last week. Oh well hopefully a big drop is just around the corner.

Hi team! Bad week for me. I'm up about 2 lbs from the first weeks :( But, oh well, I'm doing the best I can right now. We were in the pool for at least 1 hour last night, and doing the same today. I don't swim the whole time, but what we do is one of us holds Jacob (he refuses to wear the float suit) and plays with him on the steps, and the other swims. Then we rotate.

We looked at 14 houses today, from 10am until 3pm, with a short break for lunch. Hopefully, we can settle on something. We saw things we like, but they are overpriced and don't know how motivated the sellers are.

Keeping fingers crossed for no council...

Ashlee624 I am in the same rut you are! I am trying something different I kept my calories at approximately where they were supposed to be - some days they were a little lower. A friend of mine was telling me that when ever she stops losing, she has a cheat day and eats whatever she wants without guilt, the next day she gets back on track but eats a higher quantity of her healthy foods, then goes back to her normal diet calorie count on the 3rd day. She said her weight does not go up but within 2 days she starts dropping again. She swears it shocks her body out of being stuck. I figure what the heck. I tried and have not gained any weight and have not lost either - tomorrow will be the 3rd day so I will see....anyway are you doing different workouts - doing the same thing every day becomes the norm for your body so you have to shake it up. Sometimes just finding a new route to walk helps or reversing the one you are doing.....

I am getting really frustrated! I feel like I"m doing everything right, but the weight has stopped coming off. I had another disappointing weigh in. I'm down .8 lbs from last week, but still up .6 from week 1. I know that I need to just push through and eventually more weight will come off, I just really wish I could see some results on that darn scale too. Hope you all have a great weigh in!

Sounds like there are a bunch of us having a hard time. I'm doing okay on exercise, but I have not been monitoring my eating at all. I'm sure there's going to be a weight gain tomorrow. Hopefully our challenge will keep us out of council. Sigh. Yesterday I took the kids swimming and ran, jumped, and dragged them around the pool. Today I took an hour out of our casino trip to take a brisk walk. Too bad I followed it with a trip to the buffet. Oops. Here's to managing the damage and moving forward.

Sorry I did not get on yesterday. Things were very difficult at work end of month stuff and then one of the big bosses go. Rough week. Anyway I failed to workout at all yesterday - first time in over 3 weeks. I felt like crap today. Walked 2 miles tonight and did 3 on the treadmill. Hope every one is doing well.

help girls, I'm not doing well with this lately. Yesterday, I barely had time to think, and I got home early. I really was going to exercise, but I didn't emoticon

I had to pack a little, of course playing with Jacob when I pick him up is very important, he had a ton of meltdowns while the contractor was here working on the bathrooms. Screamed and cried every time he saw him. I don't know if he thought I was leaving him with someone strange, or what. But that was the end of that. And then we had a huge storm and it was hard to get him to sleep, so needless to say, here I am. I'm bloated, eating terribly because I always do at this time of the month, and can't get my butt in gear.

Today, I have to pack the car as soon as I get home, hope I have enough laundry done for us, and go to NC so hopefully we can find a house. The movers come is a little over a week, and I have a lot to do. I'm just feeling stressed, and I'm definitely a stress eater. Not a good combo. The other problem is I can't weigh in at the apartment, and I don't even want to weigh myself today and submit that one. I'm not a happy girl this morning.

Sorry for the venting, hope you all have a wonderful day, and get ton's of exercise in. I'm hoping that after we get to the apartment and finish dinner, we can go for a swim. At least there we have a pool available, so I'll be able to swim when it's super hot out.

What's up red team?? I got a new Leslie Sansone DVD from Netflix today... you know I LOVE her. However, this particular workout was very distracting. It was made in the 80s.. complete with neon leotards and big hair. I couldn't even focus. I'll be sending that one back soon. But, at least I got 45 min of cardio in with a burn of 450 calories. WOOHOO!

Good morning all! I managed to oversleep this morning so no early morning workout but I will be doing a walk at lunchtime (hopefully - end of month has to be done by COB today). The humidity has finally come down so I know Chance and I will be hitting the concrete for a nice long extended walk tonight. Although I hit 177 Saturday I have been fluctuating some so I had not officially in my book considered myself in the 170's. Every day so far since Saturday even on my high day I did not go out of the 170's. I now consider myself to be in the 170's - upper but 170's no less. I was hoping to be in the 160's even upper 160's by vacation but since that is15 days away - I am starting to think that won't happen but instead of giving up - I am pushing on and I still have faith that I can get there or darn close! Hope everyone has a great day and your weather is as nice as it is here! ~Robin

I have to do some research - in the last month or so I have been getting foot cramps at night after using the treadmill. I wonder if I may be getting dehydrated? I'm pretty sure I drink enough water but I could be wrong.

Have a great Thursday!

Kathy

Good morning. I think I'm going to talk my hubby into getting a treadmill when we move. We live in a place where walking outside is easy to do, but it's hard for me, I would either have to get up early and go before he leaves, or do it at night when he gets home. We'll see. He's so against equipment like that. And he hates treadmills. He's more an elliptical person, and I like walking / jogging. Hope you all are having a great day.

I think I'm going to have to break down and mow the grass when I get home at lunchtime today. With him gone, I typically do it, and I haven't for two weeks now, so it's starting to look a little shaggy. The good news is that this should be it. Unless I cut it the last week using the neighbors mower, this will be my last time here emoticon

Have a great day team, three more days, let's rock it!

I did that during my C25K the other night and completely lost track.

Today I had to take a breather. Last night IcyHot was my BFF. I have shin splints, tendinitis & my arches are screwy. My knees were crying & my arches were shooting pain up my shins. I'm going to go once again to a specialty running store and see what they fit me for - I'll let you guys know what they say since I read you guys are having some shin issues. I have my eyes on a pair of Vibrams & there is a place close by that will fit them.

First place I went to was in MD & I'm using the shoes they had me get. I never could in HS but after a few years and a baby I can tolerate them. They're starting to get to me now that I'm running more. Spikes have been the best fit for me but they are practical to run in always - I'm going to go to a running specialty shop in WV this time and see what they do.

edit: BTW I got my order of Shakeology in the mail today. Very excited to start that tomorrow - It's a day late to be able to start June 1st but I'll live!

Also - instead of saying 'No pain ... No gain' think 'No pain... Thank you!' That saying shouldn't hold true for actual joint pain!! Make sure you don't have something more serious wrong with your legs, they're amazing things but can wear down after time

I should, but the problem with me and shoes is that I have gigantic feet! Hence, the blisters too... I am wearing a pair of wide width Reeboks right now, in size 11, so I don't have a lot of options. I hate that no matter how much weight I lose, I will never get to wear cute shoes!!!

Thanks to my wonderful hubby, I was able to take a little "me time" and do an hour walk. It was great, but now I have two blisters on my toes and I fear I may be developing shin splints. UGH!! No pain, no gain ( or no loss, I guess)!

I'm going to try to get out of here today at 2:30, then go for a walk before 4pm. If I do my loop, I can go 2.6 miles per loop. It's going to be really warm, so I'll probably only do it once this afternoon. But, it's great for me to get out and walk without taking Jacob, as I can go faster. Then, we'll play outside in the dirt tonight (yay for us) do he can "dig" as he calls it. Hope you all have a great day, and lets keep up the good work.

On a downside, I'm feeling really PMS'y, and been wanting to eat salty food or chocolate for the last two days. I don't have anything sweet at home, but I did eat some pretzels last night before I went to bed emoticon

YEAH It is a new month. Time to put May in the history books and start fresh with June. Let's make June a month we can put in the books proudly! I walked just over 2 miles last night and did 30 minutes on the Elliptical. End of month is a rough time for me because I typically don't get out of here until late. I actually did not end up getting on the elliptical until 9pm but I still got it in! HERE WE GO RED TEAM -HERE WE GO RED TEAM, HERE WE GO! emoticon

BTW that was my pathetic attempt at cheering us on!

That's awesome! I wish my community had someplace to do water aerobics... though I probably wouldn't have the nerve to wear my suit in front of other people. My plan for today is to do a 4 mile walk. Have a great day!!!

The beginning of this week has been all about the water aerobics. I went Monday morning at 6 AM (I did come home and go back to bed), again tonight, and I will be going back tomorrow morning. They are having a challenge at our local community rec center that if you come 12 weeks (doesn't have to be consecutive) for at least 3 times a week you can get a free monthly pass. I'm two weeks away from earning my free pass. It's a great cardio/strength workout if you get the right instructor. The end of the week I plan to do some running. I've been at 3 miles for quite awhile. I think I might try to bump up my distance. I'd love to run a 10K (about 6 miles) by the end of summer.

I didn't get out of work until 3:30 today, so I'll be doing something after 9:00 tonight. Probably a cardio workout. I now have to change clothes, go get Jacob, and then get back by 5 for the contractor doing some of the repair work on the house. Which, by the way, my husband informed me I might have to watch what he's doing to make sure it's done right. Like I'm going to know.... I just laughed and told him not to worry, Jacob and I will work on digging a hole in the backyard and playing in it, and I'll keep my eye on the work being done.

two more weeks, and this is all over. At least, from a get the move finished standpoint. Then it's trying to figure out how to work out in the apartment OR use the equipment they have and entertain J at the same time. I'm pretty sure I'm going to get internet hooked up, even if it's just for a month, so I have the streaming capability on netflix.

Check in with you guys later emoticon

Eek. We can still do it!! I order shakeology last week & should be getting that soon ! Extra boost :)

Anyways, yes. MD real feel is like 104 right now? I hate to say but I LOVE it. I'm taking my work break to sit outside. When I left WV this morning I was dripping sweat just getting the kiddie in the car! Went out & bought him a pool over the weekend (little kiddie pool) and I wish I still had one on a day like today. Looking forward to a nice bike ride tonight if it gets out of the 90's. Last night it was what - 86 at 11pm? Not usual for us Marylanders.

GOOD MORNING SMALLER RED TEAM! It stinks that we have lost so many players but I think the group we have left are the dedicated - take it to the end group. I hope we don't get split up when we merge to two teams!

It is miserable hot today in Maryland. I was hoping to do a lunchtime walk but that is not happening so I will do Jillian's video when I get home, followed by the elliptical and a nice long walk with Chance!

@ASHLEE624 - The Shred It with weights is done with a kettlebell. You can use a hand weight if you don't have a kettlebell but I would be nervous because you swing the bell a lot and do hand changes while swinging. It is a butt kicking workout...some of it is out of control in my opinion but I am determined to stick with it for now. I am still on level 1 they said to get comfortable with that and add more weight before going to level 2 - I may never make it to level 2!

What's Shred it with Weights like? I did the 30 day shred for a while and found it to be torture! I didn't make it the whole way through... didn't even get past level 1. Not because it was too hard, I just wasn't enjoying it, but maybe I'll go back to it some other time.

Did Jillian Shred It with Weights DVD and 30 minutes on the elliptical. Waiting for it to cool down some so Chance and I can head out for a nice walk this evening. I am in Maryland and it feels more like 4th of July than Memorial Day!

Morning all! It's hot and humid here too! I took Jacob for a walk this morning, was out about 1/2 hour with him, then we went to the store while daddy worked on house projects for our upcoming move. I have to do some packing today, so I will be busy. Also, trying to eat all of our food in the next couple of weeks from the freezer, should be a challenge. Hope you all have a great day, and let's keep up the great work.

Hey team! We walked about 4 miles yesterday, and I was sweating buckets!! Its really hot and humid here. SO, fitness wise, i'm feeling good. We are hosting a little BBQ at our house today, so, I'm really hoping that I'm strong enough to keep my calories in check. Have a very Happy Memorial Day!!

Good Morning Red Team. Hope it has been a great weekend! For me so far my exercise has been great - done Jillians Shred it workout everyday and taking tons of walks. Not doing as great on food. Not doing horrible but not making the best choices. Happy Memorial Day and take a moment to remember those that gave all for our freedom. Thank you to all those that have served and continue to serve and to their families who are serving as well. emoticon

Went out last night with my husband and we went out to dinner, I was really good to work on my menu so that I didn't go over any of my calories. I was hungry most of the day but it was so worth it to eat out. Hopefully it doesn't screw up my weight loss for this week. With all of the rain it has been hard to walk. I have been walking through Walmart back and forth trying to make up for not getting to walk outside.

Hi team! So, yesterday was not a great day on my healthy living journey. It was our 6th anniversary. We went on a date without the kids!!!!! We really don't do that enough! We decided to go out to eat at the lodge where we had our wedding reception. It was so nice to reminisce. Since I don't eat chicken or fish, its really difficult to eat healthy at a restaraunt. So, I didn't! I had a "Pittsburger" which is a burger with cole slaw and fries right on the sandwich. It was delicious, but probably 800 or so calories. It certainly wasn't a great choice, but, I really think that in order for me to be successful on this journey, I have to allow myself those treats every so often. So, I think its ok. Today, I will eat within my calorie range, and we will all go for a 4 miles walk on the rails to trails.

Good morning everyone! Happy Sunday. Start of week three. I basically played with my son most of the day while my husband loaded the truck with garage stuff, then we went and unloaded at our apartment / garage in NC. So, I did a lot of moving small stuff for him until Jacob needed to go inside.

Today, I'm going to take a walk with him and Jacob later this afternoon. Have a great start to week 3 :)

Well I didn't lose any weight this week :( but at least I didn't gain either. My son has had a cold and he passed it on to the whole family so have not been feeling my best the past few days. I did do an hour workout strength training video on Thursday and hope to work out tonight after work if I feel up for it. Hope to do better next week..hope everyone has a great holiday weekend!

Hey guys! I had a bad weight in emoticon . I was up 1.5 pounds. I really think I'm retaining water. Sorry guys! I will do better next week!
Today is our 6th anniversary, so we're having a date night at the place we had our reception. I'm sure I'll be high on calories today, but I'll be back 110% on Sunday!

Good morning. WASHCAPFAN - that is awesome. I'm still bumming today, I didn't lose anything this week, like I predicted. We have an old scale, no tenths or anything, but still, it's good enough. But, it's a new week, hopefully we don't get to council. I'm going to post my weight now, as we are out of town today and tomorrow moving some stuff to NC. I did pack lots of boxes yesterday afternoon, and got a little strength training in too. Today is just moving stuff, loading stuff, and that. I'll check back in with everyone tomorrow. Have a great day, and good job on week 2 being finished.

GOOD MORNING RED TEAM! IT'S D DAY! I guess it is really W Day - Weigh Day. Anyway, I am up bright and early headed to get a pedicure - (mother's day gift certificate and I made myself wait until I was down 10pds). I am not down 10pds on this site but I am since I started really pushing myself which was a few weeks before I started using this site. My next pedicure will be at 20 pds and I don't want ugly toes for the summer so I guess I need to start pushing harder. Anyway I know I am down in weight for the weigh in today. After my Pedicure, Chance and I are going to hit the B&A trail for a nice looonnnggggg morning walk. I hope everyone has a nice day and that it is a successful on for our team! GO RED GO!!!! emoticon

Yesterday's workout was great! Today it didn't happen... But I'm pushing to get some strength training in tomorrow! I don't think I lost any pounds this week... Maybe half a pound... Bummer but I'm NOT going to get discouraged.
Have a great weekend everyone!
Don't forget to weigh in. :)

I hope this work I have not tried adding link before!!! This is the article I was talking about earlier for anyone who missed - about emotional eating and taming the inner beast.

Hope everyone is having a great day! I walked on the treadmill and did my elliptical at lunch...tonight Jillian's "shred it with weights" is my plan.

Lisa - same word for you YUCK! Anyways back to business. Try to push a ton of water today, if you are retaining any water it may help get it moving. Don't underestimate the power of packing and moving boxes, you may be surprised by the results. Regardless what is most important is to continue to push forward! I am proud of all of us for sticking with this and being honest when we mess up. Keep talking or writing.....

Wholewatermelon....if you need motivation you came to the right place. Every time I start thinking I have done well I read posts and think darn it I could have done that too.....try to keep moving, get outside with the kids if you can and away from that kitchen. When you feel like munching have some water instead or get on here and write! I read an article on here a few days ago about taming your inner beast....I will see if I can find it and send you the link. It was pretty interesting - I realized that my mom staying with us during the week to watch my son was my trigger....I am not perfect at it yet but I am doing much better controlling my emotional eating.

Keep going Red - this is our week I can feel it!

Trying to decide what exercise to do today. Maybe I'll do some strength and try one of the Netflix streaming workouts. Thanks LISANOLL for suggesting it.

My little intro:
I'm a 33 year old mother of four. My oldest is 8 and my youngest just turned a year. After college I put on a few pounds and then with children more, more, and more. I have successfully lost weight a few times, but usually when I've lost 25-30 pounds I tend to go back to my old ways and gradually gain it all back. I'm at that crucial place now. I lost about 30 pounds and have been waffling back and forth at this weight for a few weeks now. I think I'm about 5 pounds up from my lowest right now. I really don't want to go back up. I have a long way to go in my weight loss and am trying to push through this mental barrier so I can continue to lose. I am definitely an emotional eater, especially when dealing with stress. With four small children and a kitchen close by I am trying to find healthier ways to deal with the stress.

I'm new to sparkpeople and am still trying to find my way around. I signed up for this challenge to rejuvenate my motivation. You guys are amazing and work out so much. It's inspiring.

ha ha Ashlee624. That's why I watched Dancing with The Stars this season. My man Hines was there - and WON!

Anyhow, on a more serious note, I'm doing terrible here at the end of this week. I haven't gained anything, but I can't get my exercise times in, and my eating is awful emoticon

I don't know what's going to happen today and tomorrow, as my husband is home so we can pack the garage and tomorrow we have to move the stuff. I'm hoping I can get one more day of strenght training in. I don't want our team to not meet the goals, so I'm really trying to get that part done. But I'm not going to be much help on the weight - I'm so sorry.

Hope you all are doing better than me this week in losing weight! I'm just moving forward, from this minute on, what has already happened is over, and I can't change it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we dont' end up in council again.

Have a great day girls! Keep up the wonderful work.

Crap there are two of you that are fans of that team!!!!! Sorry I just can't bring myself to acknowledge it. Just kidding! Glad you guys found something to bond over! The person I confide in most in life is a fan of your team too. I have forgiven her and I shall forgive you guys too.....LMAO!!! emoticon ! Ok that was my bit at trying to be funny this morning. I like football but I LOVE HOCKEY! Sad Sad Sad end to that season too. Can't think about it too much or my emotional eating will kick in! Hey I just stumbled on to something there maybe I can blame my weight on my sports teams...the let downs caused me to eat and......Why not someone sued and got millions for spilling coffee on themselves because it was hot!

Back to the real world. I did 30 minutes on my elliptical last night, followed by a 15 minutes of what should have been a 25 minute beating from Jillian on the Shred It with Weights DVD - excellent kettlebell workout. I did have to stop at one point because I truly thought my heart was going to come out through my mouth. Tonight I shall be victorious (even if I have to pause it pick my heart up off the floor and start again) and complete the 25 minutes! Stupid me used my 10pd kettlebell and I think I should have probably used the 5pd. Lesson learned. Have a great day team and remember weigh in is tomorrow!!!

Thanks girls for overlooking my Steelers fault :) It's in my blood, sorry.

Hope you all are getting lots of exercise in. I'm having a terrible time this afternoon. I wanted to do my cardio, but there were two house inspections. No way am I doing anything while there are others roaming around the house. Now, maybe I'll get it in when Jeff gets home tonight, and do some strength training to boot.

Good morning everyone. Happy Thursday!

For Robin's idea, here goes. My name is Lisa. I am also 41, and my son will be 2 on July 13th. My husband and I have been married for 14 1/2 years now, and we just waited to even try to start having children until 3 years ago. We are both from the Pittsburgh area (GO STEELERS!) I am a manufacturing / quality engineer, working mainly in the automotive industry, and we are currently in process of moving from SC to NC.

Ahh, my weight loss journey. In about 2002, I thought I topped out. I think I weighed 175. I am 5' 7", and have a large frame, so I have always hidden my weight to a point. Anyhow, a friend of mine and I did WW, I did the online version. It worked, I got down to about 153, which I was really happy with. The lightest I remember being was around 135, when I got married, and that was mainly because I had my tonsils taken out 1 month before and lost some weight. But anyhow, I have gone up and down since that point. In 2007, we went on a cruise with some family, and my weight had started creeping up again. I don't think it got above 165, but I wasn't thrilled. So, I tried the SB plan. Again, it worked. Then, had my beautiful boy, and crossed the 200 mark, gained 37 lbs with him. I breastfed, and he had acid reflux, so I lost all the weight and more in less than 3 months, but that was only because I walked around with him the entire day for 3 months, except for when I was feeding him, pumping (we had nursing issues) and he slept - which was never more than 45 minutes at a time. I won't lie, I was happy to go back to work, so I could get a break. Anyhow, I got laid off in December of 2009 - we knew it was likely, and have been home with him since. I really think my weight has started going up now since the end of last summer. I have been home by myself since August, as my husband took a new job and we haven't been able to sell our house until now. My eating habits are terrible, playing with a toddler isn't the same as really focused exercise, and I've just gotten lazy.

The first time I lost weight, I saw a picture of me at the holidays, and lost it. I knew I had to do something. This time, I'm not it any pictures, I take them all. But when I went back to work part time at the end of march, and none of my clothes, which are my BIG clothes, fit, I knew I had to do something. I'm still struggling with eating well. I don't like to make too much food, and my son is not a great eater, so he eats chicken almost every night. I am not always hungry when I feed him. I'm really hoping that in 3 weeks, when we are back together as a family, we can get the food thing straightened out. Plus, my hubby is really good about harassing me when I buy junk.

I'm not a great exerciser. When I belonged to a gym, I did okay. Not really into classes or anything, but I did strength and cardio about 5 times a week. At home, we don't have any equipment, I'm not a runner, and so I'm trying to find ways to motivate myself to workout. This team is a start, as I'm not only accountable to myself, but to the group of you too!

Well, off to get ready for work, then when I get home this afternoon it's strength training and core training again.

GUYS -

I just want to tell you all that I am a big ding-a-ling!!!!

I'll fill you guys in tonight, right now I'm on my phone but def. don't want to forget!!

----------------------------------------
--------------------------------------
-----------------------------------
EDIT: Ok so to explain: I started doing the C25K via treadmill & I was using 3.5 for my walking and 6.5 for my running for week 1. Not realizing that you could use the keypad to switch your speed - every time I went from running to walking I hit the + or - 30 times.

tonight I realized that all I had to do was type in the speed I wanted.
I guess we over look the little things while we're working hard working out?

ANYWAYS : Tonight I did Week 1 Day 2 (the whole way through) of C25K/ some core strength work, some strength tricep work & finally some strength leg work before calling it a night.

I love Robin's idea of sharing a bit about ourselves. It good to get to know who you're working with! As for me : My name is Amy - My only child turned 2 a few weeks ago. I guess I only have a year left before I'm no longer a parent of an infant (that is hoping that it didn't end AT 2) :( Anywho - I'm happily divorced. Full time single mommie, working full time and trying to pursue a masters or at least a bachelors....TRYING. Before I got married I was studying networking & getting my certifications as a CCNA. Motherhood put a hold on that and now I'm honestly seeing a career path change in my future. I was a dance student of over 11 years including jazz, tap, modern and hip hop, I ran varsity cross country & track back in high school. Cross country was my main sport so I used track more as fun and to stay conditioned for cross country - doing some jumping events including a year or so of pole vaulting. That all was a blast and hopefully it won't be long before I'm back to where I was, weight wise and ability wise. Last night after my workout I decided to see if I could still do a handspring. Well....I did - but let's say I think I lost a hip in the process. From 2005 on, I've been given the 'gifts' of tendinitis (I blame dance, not running alone) shin splints, something is wrong with my arches and I do something when I run which makes something hurt and messes up my hips and knees...didn't really pay much attention there because as long as I wore certain shoes it didn't hurt as bad, asthma (which developed over time) high blood pressure, possible blood clot in my lung & when I was pregnant I had a pretty bad case of G.D. with over an 80% chance of it continuing as regular diabetes & that I probably had it before hand but was never tested. Some other fancy junk that I didn't care to bother with : I think it is all just a rouse for the medical field to make money. Either way the last few things can certainly be fixed by a healthy lifestyle. And I doubt I have any type of blood clot, I seem to be still alive. God can take care of any issue.

Robin - you aren't alone. I weight everyday....two or three times a day. I try to keep it to once a day but that doesn't mean it happens.

and about getting up early to exercise - I've tried so many times. And I can convince myself to get up for the first few days but after that I give up. When I did get up though I took an energy shot (not saying it's a healthy thing to do!) and worked out. Right when I was about to start I got breakfast out- knowing that once breakfast was out I had to work out and then jump in the shower so I could eat before the breakfast went bad or got cold, depending what it was & then continued the day like normal. I would have felt guilty getting food out and then putting it away to sleep. Now I end up working out at night and sticking to that more. Downside is then I can't fall asleep, not like I sleep much anyways. Dang insomnia. I'd rather take the chance of waking my son up at night than in the morning anyways.

It's HALFWAY through the week - how is everyone doing? Eating clean and keeping track of your goals? Make sure to remember to update your team goal and so we don't go to council again! Plus I know it's a holiday weekend but stay motivated! Turkey dogs on the grill with wheat buns? Think healthy & avoid the foods that may ruin all your hard work.

STAY STRONG RED TEAM!!!!

Just finished my cardio and strength training for the day and I've also completed the minimun for this week's challenge. YEAH!! I'm now starting the busy time when my 5 year old's soccer and baseball seasons overlap, so, I'm glad I have this challenge to keep me focused!

I've signed up for two motivational teams but am having a heck of a time getting in gear! I had so much motivation after I had the baby and I rocked it for MONTHS (it felt SO GOOD to feel normal again!) - then I got a new job at work which requires me to work more hours and it has put my motivation in the hole. Yesterday and today I have forced myself to hit the treadmill but after I logged my food yesterday, I ate over 2300 calories! YIKES!

I haven't stopped trying though! I just gotta get all of the junk out of my house! My oldest daughter graduated from high school on Friday and we had a huge party which included a bunch of junk for the teenagers. I can't buy any more once it's gone. Period!

Take Care,
Kathy

Good Morning RED TEAM members. I hope everyone is doing well today. I was snooping around some last night and I noticed that other teams did an introduction to get things started and we never did that, so I was thinking it might be fun and interesting to share some info about ourselves with each other. It may also help us to motivate each other. Hopefully everyone agrees and I will start or look silly if no one else tells their story.

My name is Robin,I am 41 and the mother of an 18 month old boy Chance. I tried for years with my 1st husband to have children with no luck. We split I meet Chance's dad and 6 month after being tested for being perimenopausal found out (while using birth control and protection) that I was pregnant. I was 12 weeks before I even knew I was pregnant (I guess God truly had a plan for me). On 11/08/09 the most wonderful little boy entered my life and just changed everything. I named him Chance for a lot of reason but the biggest is that he is "My Chance of a Lifetime". I have always struggled with my weight, before Chance I was in the 170's tried Nutri**** and got down to 162. Then I found out I was preg got off Nutri**** ate very healthy while I was pregnant only gained 22 pounds. 6 weeks after Chance was born I was within 2 pounds of my starting weight but the closer it got to me coming back to work and leaving him the more I ate. I topped out at 192 in November. I was horrified when I saw pictures of him and I at his 1st birthday party and the holidays. I made a decision Jan 1 that I was going to lose weight and more importantly get healthy. I do not want to avoid pictures with my son and husband. I want to run after Chance and laugh and have a blast, I only want to have to stop and catch my breath because we are laughing so hard not because I am so out of shape.

We all know that unfortunately it does not always take the 1st time. I struggled lost a pound gained 2, lost 3, lost a few more and then gained a few more. A friend of mine recommended Spark and I am hooked. I am more motivated than ever.

I have to confess - My name is Robin and I am a scale-aholic. I weigh myself constantly. It is not good because if I am up at all I get depressed and if I am down I get motivated. So I basically have to keep it moving down.

I am trying a new approach with small goals. My 1st goal is to be out of the 180's and right now I am at 180.4 so I am almost there. I am doing cardio a minimum of 2 times a day and strength training every other day at a minimum. I have tried to do running to burn more calories but I must confess - My name is Robin and I ABSOLUTELY HATE RUNNING! I still do it but I hate it. Anyways, that my story, feel free to ask me any questions or give me advice. I just made my weight and age public so I have nothing to hide!

Good Luck this week and GO RED TEAM GO!!!!

@LISANOLL - getting up earlier to workout SUCKS but if you can just roll yourself out of bed and do it you will get hooked - you feel great the rest of the day. I actually go to bed in something I can workout in so I don't even have to think about putting on clothes and I leave my shoes with socks right next to where I am going to workout so I don't wake anyone trying to find anything!

Good morning everyone. I need some advice / team motivation on how to exercise early in the morning. I set my alarm to get up this morning and do a cardio workout, but I just didn't want to get out of bed. I have to get up around 6am or so to get ready for work (only for the next three weeks), but I'm usually done around 1pm. I have been doing my workouts then, when I get home, and before I get my son from daycare. Our situation is changing soon, we have sold our house, and we will be moving into an apartment until we find a house, but at least my son and I will be with my husband every day, and while we are there, I can go use the workout equipment at the complex. Now, I don't really feel like doing much at night after I put Jake to bed. So, if it's not done in the afternoon, chances are it won't happen. Just needed to vent, and maybe some of you have advice on what to do early in the am, etc., to get started.

good evening !!

Tonight I attempted another C25K day but @ the park. It's so much easier to do it on the treadmill with an even speed than trying to manage an even pace. I later did the second half of C25K (yes, I cheated) but I will make sure I get my 3 full days in over the week.

I did a lot of strength training again tonight. I need to make sure I don't forget about muscle confusion but I did machine after machine. I just got up to go the bathroom & it hurt to walk. That is a good sign! I was so tried when I was done & taking a shower I took my socks off & threw them in the trash!!

I was a workout machine today ladies!!! 30 min run this am, spent lunch at the gym (35 min elliptical, 20 min bike and weight machines) and then went to a 60 minute total body conditioning class and topped it off with a 60 minute Zumba fest! :) So I am tired and sweaty and in desperate need of a shower, but boy did it feel good :) Have a great night everyone!

Good for all of you for working out! I went for a short walk this morning with my son biking and my daughter in the stroller. I'm going to try to do some sit ups and push ups before I go to bed.

Did 40 minutes of pilates / yoga today for the core training, and now I'm watching the Dancing With the Stars finale. I'm not into the Biggest Loser yet, but I love to watch the dancing shows. I guess I'm just a dancer at heart. Took years of ballet until I gave it up when I started playing basketball instead. I think I was just too tall and gangly (at the time) to be a good ballerina. But, dancing is good cardio, especially some of the latin dances. I have a couple of videos for dance in my netflix instant watching to do as cardio. Tomorrow, I'm going to do the salsa one.

I went to water aerobics (good cardio and strength) this morning so I could watch Biggest Loser tonight. I don't want to be spoiled this week. :) Remember to post spoiler alert if you are going to talk about the results. I usually watch it a day or more later on Hulu and last week another thread on sparkpeople spoiled it for me.

I've allocated calories for some healthy popcorn during the finale. Definitely looking forward to it! I'll try and run some stairs during the commercials too. Hopefully my kids won't be too high maintenance.

I'll be watching! I'm really pulling for Olivia. I'll be getting stuff ready for our garage sale, so I won't be able to do REAL exercise, but I'll be active and not sitting.

I can't remember exactly how to tell you to get a tracker, but I know its really easy to do. I think if you go to your SparkPage, then click edit page, it'll be there.
