That's tough! It almost feels like punishment for getting education that could improve your income level so you wouldn't need assistance at all. I haven't been waitlisted for daycare assistance, but I have been on a waiting list for daycare itself. I remember being really stressed about it, and my mom telling me that it would work out. I ended up finding a nice home situation while we were on the list, just by chance- I met a stay-at-home mom who needed extra income temporarily because her husband was just starting out in dental school and expenses were more than they realized. If it's getting close to August, and you haven't moved up the list, ask around your parent friends. Sometimes, there is someone who is a good mom who needs a little extra cash and you can find less expensive care while you wait for assistance.

Ok, so, I recently got my acceptance letter into a local ADN program! It should be all sunshine and rainbows but I'm really struggling with balancing my stress right now. I just got waitlisted, today, for daycare assistance for my son because I'll be gone pretty much all day Monday-Friday. The woman told me that even though I go to school fulltime (and my husband works/goes to school both fulltime) that we aren't a "priority" because I don't work.

I'm trying to stay positive, at least I got waitlisted, right? But, it is hard because I don't know how long I'll be on the waitlist and I start in August. Has anyone else been on a daycare assistance waitlist? How long did you wait? I can't believe that we aren't priority, given we are both working our tailfeathers off but I cannot work because I cannot afford daycare right now... crazy..

Anyways, I just wanted to turn to the forums for support rather than food. I ALWAYS go to food and I DO NOT want to have a food breakdown. If anyone has a similar story with a "it all worked out in the end" part please share :) Thanks guys..
