my sister has this. She will go long bouts without a period, and then have her period for 6 weeks straight. It's really hard on the body. For her when they are able to get her hormones better with bc, the periods level out some.

Anyone out there who us going through the same?
I got a chance diagnosis of PCOS when I had a benign growth on one ovary removed when I was 37. My gyno was not interested in dealing with it because I was only mildly overweight and not looking to get pregnant. But reading up on it suddenly explained a lot - like my struggle with weight etc.
Now I have been in perimenopause for the last 7 years and thought I had reached the end - 8 months without period, hormones in postmenopausal range. Then suddenly I got periods again and 6 months later I am regular again piling on the weight, depressed, symptoms of hypothyroidism but the TFT is sometimes confirming it with high TSH and low Free T4, the the next test will be perfectly normal again.
Am worn out and tired and hating my body.
