My non scale victory is that I can finally take the stairs to visit my neighbor. I go up those stairs about 3-4 times a day and it does not hurt like before. I can also walk a mile very easily. I see progress but I'm in a plateau and that's ok.. emoticon

Gratitude will change your attitude.

I paid off a big debt I've been paying on a long time this morning!
Health wise, with my better eating, my acne issues are getting better!

My most recent victory is getting my cycles back on track, which are now 30 days apart, getting off all perscription meds and only taking vitamins and natural supplements, and ovulating for the first time in 9 years by myself! emoticon

Non-Scale victories are the most important. This is especially true when the scale does not move. I do a lot of weight lifting, which has really helped boost my metabolism, but it also means the scale is not a very good judge of my fitness. I use how my clothes feel, how my shoes fit, and the look and feel of my shin and hair. Those are a much better judge of how I'm doing.

Great idea! My victory is that recently I went on a hiking vacation with my husband. I know I'm healthier than year's past because I didn't have any problems keeping up, didn't feel overly tired or breathless, didn't get caffiene withdrawal headaches, didn't get overly hungry, didn't have any blood sugar incidents, ect. I felt very normal and balanced, and I know it's because I've been taking better care of myself.

Hi Cysters,

I feel like it is easy to get down about weight with PCOS when a lot of us struggle to lose it and it is something that Doctors focus on at our appointments. I thought it would be fun to start a forum where people could post their non scale victories and to remind ourselves that this health journey is for the betterment of our life (not just the number on the scale going down).

I'll start :)
- A couple months ago I bought a dress for a wedding and I ended up not wearing it because I couldn't zip it up. Tried it on for a wedding later this month and it zipped!
- Ever since I have started to use Sparkpeople religiously and exercise again I have had (almost) normal cycles
